Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, because it is time to WAKE UP! It's time for Raw, live from Albany, NY...and a Fashion Report, too!
Stacy, in pink dress with white squares, black ribbon, and black poodle, walks to the ring to pimp the Diva Search. Gail, in black trenchcoat, stringy white shirt, and blak hotpants, comes out.
Gail vs. Lita, in red mesh shirt over black bra and black pants. Dark-haired Ref is the official. Gail works over Lita's knee, but Lita gets a comeback. Lita with a strong DDT for the pin - WTF? Average match.
In Bisch's ROF, Eric, in tan sportscoat and blue shirt, and Johnny, in black leather sportscoat and white shirt, chat. Coach, in black shirt and shades, interrupts. Bisch books Coach vs. Eugene at the PPV. Due to Johnny's big mouth, Bisch books Johnny vs. Eugene for tonight; if Johnny doesn't win, he's fired.
Batista, in black undies with arcing red flame, with Flair, in black suit with white shirt, vs. Shelton, in red fullcuts with silver trim. Mike Chioda officiates, in black and white stripes. Shelton's punches look weak. Mid-match, Orton runs out to ringside with the Title. Powerbomb -> pin. Average match. Post-match, Evolution delivers the beatdown.
Moments Ago, the beatdown. During the Break, Shelton was helped up the ramp.
In his lockerroom, Benoit tapes up. Edge comes in to announce they won't be getting a Tag Title rematch. The pair starts to argue about their loss. Coach comes in to announce that Bisch has booked Benoit vs. La Resistance.
Rock was doing the MTV Movie Awards. Here's some FOOTAGE! thereof.
In his ROF, Bisch speaks with Trish and Tyson. He books Tyson vs. Jericho at the PPV. Trish wants to be the Women's No. 1 contender. Kane barges in - he goes nose-to-nose with Tyson before Bisch kicks everone (but Kane) out of his office.
Jericho, in blue "Jerich" silhoutte tights with black/white rays, his ribs taped, vs. A-Train, in black crested undies. Jack Doan is the referee. Walls -> submission.
HHH, in black suit with white shirt, stalks down to the ring. AdBreak holds him down.
We're back, and HHH is talking. He cuts a promo on Shawn in regards to their upcoming Hell in a Cell match. Here's some FOOTAGE! of HHH beating Shawn to hype the match. HHH ascends to his sky box.
Lawler, in black sportscoat with white stripes, and JR, in tan sportscoat, black shirt, white tie, and black hat, present some FOOTAGE! of Shawn beating HHH, as a rebuttal. Presently, some hottie is serving HHH.
La Resistance, both in sparkly blue vests and blue "La Resistance" fleur-de-lis undies, wearing the Tag Titles and waving Quebec flags, is out. Sylvan sings the Canadian National Anthem. Benoit, in red tights with black slashes, carrying the World Heavyweight Title, interrupts. La Res vs. Benoit; Chad Patton is the referee. Lawler can't shut-up about Lita. Mid-match, Edge, in black "Edge" splat tights interferes for the DQ. Bisch comes-out to book La Resistance vs. Benoit and Edge for the Tag Titles at the PPV. Bisch also books Benoit and Edge vs. La Resistance and Kane, RIGHT NOW. Except AdBreak is too quick.
The match is joined in progress, with the heels in control. Kane hits the chokeslam -> pin on Benoit.
Coach joins commentary. Eugene, in inside-out white/red jacket and blue undies, with Regal, in black suit and vest, with white shirt and tie, vs. Johnny "Nitro", in black "Nitro" tights, with FOOTAGE!. Jack Doan is the official for this match. Top-rope axehandle -> pin for Eugene. Poor match. Post-match, Coach makes a fool of himself.
The announcers run-down the Bad Blood card.
In the back, Lita talks to Matt on the phone. Sappy stuff. Kane suddenly appears on-scene, revealing that HE had Bisch put Lita in the Championship match at Bad Blood. (Oh, so Lawler totally spilled the beans on that one.)
Randy, in black "Orton" undies with hip scrawlings, wearing the IC Title, vs. AdBreak.
Randy vs. Shawn, in black muscleshirt and silver/black leather chaps over red "Shawn Michales HBK" tights. Chioda is the referee. Both men are down on the outside, so HHH sends Batista down to help Randy. AdBreak, though, gets there first.
Cont. Batista is at ringside. Shawn opens up his forehead. Michales comes back, and is about to hit a superkick, when Batista interferes. Michales by DQ. Post-match, Shawn fights-off the attempted beatdown, and decks Chioda when the ref stops Michaels from using the steel chair. Michaels then knocks-out a security man on his way to HHH's skybox. He fights Flair on the steps, then he and HHH brawl in the skybox.
Overall: A pleasant show. Not quite enough to convince me to buy the PPV, but a good show any other week.

Outside of her willingness to do upskirt shots, is there actually a purpose for Stacy Kiebler? She can't wrestle, she hasn't managed for around six months, and you can hear a wind tunnel when she attempts to conceive a thought. Build Gail Kim up as a serious challenger for 2 months, then blow it and turn it into a 4 way match right before the PPV. I like Dinsmore. However, its sad that Coach vs. Eugene might have more build-up than Benoit vs. Kane for the World Title. However, Regal does look like he is having the time of his life. Considering Jim Ross doesn't know the name of A-Train's finisher, at least its safe to presume no summer push of A-Train. A few less tattoos and an Australian accent, and Tyson Tomko could be Nathan Jones under an assumed name. Randy Orton is going to break his tailbone very soon. He seems uncommitted as to whether to fly out over the top rope, or to attempt to skin the cat. Due to this, he is barely missing the ring apron due to his indecision.
--Lita getting the pin out of nowhere was a shock. I was digging Gail Kim working the submissions, but the abrupt DDT->win dragged the show down. Lita looked horrible on offense, as always.
--Batista/Benjamin was OK, nothing special. I liked Batista kneeling on Shelton's neck while talking to the ref. Nice to see he's picking up little things like that.
--Jericho/A-Train was OK. Nice to see Train get some time on Raw. Could go for some Palumbo.
--Handicap/tag/handicap match was, again, OK but nothing special.
--HBK/Orton was pretty boring. I expected a bit more. Beginning was too punchy/choppy, and the arm & leg work didn't lead anywhere, rendering it as just filler. Picked up a bit after the commercial break, but I still didn't get into it. Hey, Shawn's bleeding! Didn't mean anything, though.
Show needs less Kane, and more Palumbo.
And Tomko - please don't kill Jericho at Badd Blood.
I thought it was a pretty good show overall. The low point was Lita beating Gail, which took any interest i had in the Women's title match away. They did a good job of not making Shelton look bad while making Batista look strong. Also, Kane powering out of the crossface and chokeslamming Benoit for the win, was surprising. I don't know what they can do w/ that in the match at Bad Blood though. All he has left is the sharpshooter, Kane no-sold the head-butt and crossface.(I am still holding a faint hope Kane will win at Bad Blood, I've been a fan since he ripped the door off the cell at BB '97.) Good HIAC build-up also. Raw is definetly the best it's been in a while. (Did anyone else notice the TNA ad at the beginning of the show? I was shocked to see that during Raw.)
- "Last week Raw had a higher rating than the Stanley Cup Finals on ABC." What's the point of bragging about that on the bottom of the screen?
- Edge cannot act. Personally, I haven't liked this guy since he split up with Christian after King Of The Ring '01.
- It's been said 999999 times but: Recombine Raw and Smackdown. Anyone who thinks not to is a complete dumbass. Feuds are getting stale. Buyrates drop more and more. We got HHH vs. HBK again at Bad Blood. On Smackdown, we got Guerrero vs. JBL again at GAB. At SummerSlam we're probably gonna see Benoit Vs. HHH. Seen that except this time it's without HBK. I need new feuds dammit.
Was that the Trailer Hitch Gail used on Lita? Nifty. And I like Lita winning with that DDT. It looks nasty. It's not sold as simply bulldogging someone, it's a piledriver. Considering how infrequently we get to see those these days (thanks, Owen), I'm happy anytime someone has a piledriver-like finisher.
The post-match brawl with Shawn and Evolution worked for me. It had old-school intensity, and my lone regret was that this was used for something other than our annual Shawn/Hunter PPv match.
Shelton is doing just about everything right. All he needs is a catchphrase in the interviews to give the crowd something to pop for before he gets in the ring.
Eugene SHOULD squash someone I've never seen wrestle before. I have no reason to like Nitro or to hate him. He's a cypher and Eugene is way, way over. Squash away, dude.
The Jericho match was a rushed mess and I feared A-Train was gonna drop Jericho on his head in what was generously called a Billy Graham-like backbreaker.
When Benoit and Edge battle it out, I hope we see Benoit go nasty and violent. He officially started stirring it up tonight with that snarky spear comment. Let Edge play the Sting role and let Benoit play The Black Vader Cactus Angel Muta Snake Funker.
Not a great show but a good teaser for the PPV, I thought.
"To be the man, you gotta beat demands." -- The Lovely Mrs. Tracker
Lita versus Gail? Oh boy, let the blowing of spots commence! Alright...what was the point of Lita winning?
Johnny Nitro has went past the boundries of kawaii these last three weeks in...could it be...hottness? Hmm...
With Shelton getting the big beat down on the RAW before the pay per view, that means he's gonna win the title...rejoice!
Ugh...I get the feeling that Tomko is going to win at Bad Blood. Kane barges in...could he actually be doing something to make the Benoit/Kane feud interesting?
HOLY CRAP, the man with the built in tee shirt is alive! (As KIU kind of said).
My thoughts after seeing the Triple H package: "Okay, why are they only hyping Triple H for this match?" Right after that, they show Shawn Michaels' package (not that kind, pervs). My thoughts after that: "Why are they promoting a non-title match better than the actual title match?"
Kane asked Bischoff to be a part of a handicap match? Well, at least he actually won a match. Not that it means he's going to win the match at Bad Blood.
HOLY CRAP! Nitro = HAAWT! He makes me want to write dirty fanfiction! I like you Eugene, really, I do...but dammit, Nitro's gotta win just so I can stare at him some more. When a Renegade can't get any action, she's gotta rely on wrestling, ya know? NO! Nitro is fired! Dammit, Renegades need pretty people too! I can't just rely on Jericho...imagine looking at a Playboy magazine with only one chick in it. Yes, that chick might be pretty hot, but you also want other hot chicks in it too, right? Well, that's how I feel. Except chicks = dudes.
Oh no...I already had my share of Lita...I don't need any more. Oh...here's Kane. WHAT? He made a trip to Bischoff's Room of Fun just to get Lita in the Women's Title match? Man...Kane just went down a couple of notches in the cool factor.
My predictions before the match: HBK was going to pick up the win, Triple H was going to send Batista to get involved in the match, Shelton Benjamin was going to get involved with the match, and Triple H and HBK would have a beatdown after the match.
Well, I managed to get all but one right. Hopefully Bad Blood ends the Triple H/HBK feud for a little while, at least.
I noticed Lawler was actually wearing a suit tonight... ugly as hell, but better than announcing in his tights every week.
Overall, I thought the show did what it was supposed to do: sell HIAC as a hellacious final encounter, establish Kane as a legitimate challenger to the World title, and fill out the rest of the card. Benoit wrestling twice at Bad Blood is interesting, especially since they've booked themselves into a corner with the tag match... Resistance has momentum, Edge/Benoit is set for Vengeance, and both guys have to be kept strong. Looks like Resistance's push will be kept on the back burner for now, unless Edge screws up again at the PPV.
Nitro selling Eugene's "pissing" was gold. I have no clue what they'll do with him now, unless they go back on the firing... but naw, they've never done that before.

Storylinewise, I think he's still out thanks to the injuries suffered at the hands of Batista a few weeks back. Realistically, there's not much for him to do right now... he had a decent run as one of the many faces feuding with Evolution, but other than that and the Coach, he's done nothing.
I can definetly see Edge and Benoit having a big blowup after their tag match at Bad Blood, leading to Edge costing Benoit the title. That would allow for Benoit/Edge at Vengeance, they'll probably put the belt back on Trips at Vengeance, And then you have Benoit vs. Hunter at Summerslam. Just a thought.
Other than that, and Eugene's JYD impersonation, bleh show, full of matches that could have been good -- Jericho/A-Train, Batista/Benjamin, and Orton/Michaels -- but just dribbled away in the actual execution.
S'io credesse che mia risposta fosse a persona che mai tornasse al mondo, questa fiamma staria senzu piu scosse. Ma per cio che giammai di questo fondo non torno vivo alcun, s'i'odo il vero, senza tema d'infamia ti rispondo.
RAW just didn't click with me today. I can't recall a single moment that I would qualify as memorable; one that will stick in my mind at work tomorrow night, or later on in the night.
I have to question the logic of the WWE writers. With such a substantial talent base, they're not using it. Booking Benoit twice in a night? A non-wrestler versus Eugene? A quick look at the WWE Raw roster shows plenty of folks not wrestling on Sunday. Why not Stevie Richards? Why not the Hurricane? Why not anyone who can actually WRESTLE? Why not Maven? I'd even take Jon Heidenriech. Well, nah. THat's a little too far.
Oh yeah, and boo to the WWE for their treatment of Molly Holly. The woman allows for her head to be SHAVED, and is promptly written off TV?
One thing I noticed -- the back and forth struggle between Kane and Benoit in the final few minutes of their handicap match REALLY sold the PPV for me. I'm serious. Kane showed some fire (okay, YOU find a better word that doesn't sound like a pun!) like he hasn't in a while, and of course, Benoit worked his magic as well.
I figure that IF Benoit retains this weekend, they're going for a Bret Hart-type thing for "The Crippler", having him wrestle twice on a PPV. Obviously, it's all a setup for Benoit-Edge for Vengeance. But still, no harm in making Benoit look like Superman in the process...
6/4/04: One-time, one-time, one-time, one-time, one-time W of the Day!!!
I was originally excited for the Shawn/Orton match, but my interest in watching the show slowly waned away as it progressed. I don't know if I'm even gonna watch the PPV this Sundy or not. The only segment I sat down and watched completely, un-interrupted, with no distractions was the Eugene match. Eugene is quickly becoming the highlight of RAW for me, which is sad since Jericho and Benoit are my two favs and they were both on the show last night. But with nothing interesting for either of them to do, I find myself looking forward to Eugene more than anybody else on RAW.
*Dear lord I hate those Clearasil commercials, as I watch those girls lose their zits over 3 days (and act like they are gonna be babes or something) I just wanna yell out "Yeah, but you are still fugly"
*I too did not understand bragging about being better than the Stanley Cup finals
*I prey to God that Nathan Jones part deux does not go over Y2J, furthermore what a waste of Trish's talent to be saddled with that no talent buh gawd hoss
*I was shocked to not see Stacy's "sister" last night, this Diva thing is starting to kinda bother me
*Is it me or is Le Resistance starting to look more like a serious tag team? Grenier looks like he has started to care what he looks like and Conway is one helluva wrestler..that finishing move they have is pretty good
*Does anyone know where Christian is?

I also would have to agree that Hulkamania was not a failure. This is what happened as I remember it, sorry if I miss some parts. Timeline: Hogan comes back as part of the nWo for a short period of time, wrestles Rock and gets some good crowd response.
