Yes they were right to chant that, it was La Fucking Resistance out there. The audience can barely keep up the obligatory USA chants anymore these guys are so fucking dull. They have nothing to offer other than the most tired, overused gimmick in the history of the business and some cheap frat boy looks. Why are they on my TV? Why? I strongly dislike them I really do.
While on the subject of tired gimmicks, I will say that I did like Rico tonight, despite. I think he did a pretty good job of taking this awkward character and reveling in it. La Resistance look like total actors out there...bad ones. Rico's really good at his act, even if overdoing a bit. But hey, he was having fun, and it showed. Suprised what a bad reaction its gotten here.
And, yes I'll be hated for this, but where the hell were Nash and HBK?
When Bischoff came out and made the match pinfalls count anywhere, I almost thought RVD had a chance. Kind of going along with Bischoff making it his big night and having a title change to end the show. I enjoyed the main event though. A little too much interference at the end especially since no one even came to help out RVD but otherwise not too bad.

I would've put the strap back on Victoria because nobody cares about Gail Kim yet.
Except that Victoria's been wrestling injured for months.

Originally posted by dskillzI am not complaining at all here. I thought it was a pretty uneventful show with not much happening actually. But it seemed the ending of the Booker T/Christian match totally killed that crowd. I think they were going for that whole, "Kane is going to come out and who is he going to help" vibe for the main event. But of course HHH had already won the match by that time. The only thing that I didn't like about the show was the fact nothing really happened. One of those shows that if you missed, you wouldn't even feel that bad about it. Even though the Booker/Christian match was really good. I thought it could have been saved for the beginning of the 2nd hour, instead of the tag match.
I wonder if people missed flights or something, alot of people weren't on the show tonight.

I was at the event tonight here in Buffalo, and I can assure you that the crowd was taken out of it well before Booker/Christian, it was very minute Bischoff announced no Stone Cold. In someways I'm a bit pissed that I payed to see the show tonight, which I'd give a personal rating of about an 80 out of 100 and half of the roster including 3 of the biggest names on the RAW brand, and Kevin Nash, didnt even bother to show, them being Austin,HBK and Foley, especially since they never followed up Ortons beatdown of Mick last week.Take into account the only time we saw GoldBerg was for 1 1/2 milliseconds and until the big, and VERY well done finish, Kane was only seen in the back drying his hair and what does that leave you with? WAY too much Steiner/Test and of course Bischoff. It was almost as if they were saying to the live crowd we used up all the name guys in a "real" city last week, you get the left over shit. While the crowd did pop for the usuals like Flair,HHH,Booker,RVD,Kane and Y2J,it just seemed like the air was kinda sucked outta the building the minute Bischoff made the announcement earlier on. I was however floored by the final table spot by Bisch and Kane. I was sitting right in front of the table about 15 rows back, it was really awesome. Was also disappointed in that not alot of story advancment took place tonight, they just seemed to be in a holding pattern, but like I said before I'd rate it about an 80.
"You go ahead and talk about your psalms and your "John 3:16", Well "Austin 3:16" says I just whupped your ASS!!".
Anyone else pissed that we still haven't actually seen Kane's "new" face close-up yet? Maybe they're still trying to explain why Glen Jacobs isn't horribly scarred.
I think the only explanation left for Kane's appearance is that he wasn't actually disfigured, but he just tried to make it look that way so he wouldn't look like a fraud.
This is as good an explanation as any. But then again, it doesn't explain why Ross and Lawler were so disgusted last week.

You know I've never heard anyone make that joke before. You're the first. I've never heard anyone reference that outside program before. Because that's what she says on the show, right? Hmmm? I guess that explains JR's reaction to Rico.

What was up with the distortion of Kane's face at the beginning of Raw when they showed last weeks unmasking clip ? I immediately thought that he originially did have scarring make-up on and it sweated all off during his match with HHH last week, so creative distorted his face to cover up the screw-up. Then I figured they would show him heavily scarred with a good make-up job tonite. That's why I figured they distorted his face at the beginning of the show, so people wouldn't see that he wasn't scarred at all last week, then suddenly heavily scarred tonite.
But alas, they just went with the bald head, Mysterio contacts and grimacing face.
So why did they bother distorting his face at the beginning of the show ?

I liked the video package opening complete with scary music.
Christian-Booker T was Match of the Night, despite the ending.
The Women's Battle Royal was alright too. I would like to see a Gail Kim-Trish feud.
Main event was so-so.
Overall, another disappointing RAW.

I was pretty happy with RAW last night, although there were far too many non-finishes on the show. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but Steiner's lost a lot of bulk and his mobility is way up from when he debuted in the WWE. That made his match with Test/Jericho surprisingly watchable. I actually liked the match and finish for Booker/Christian, but they should have gone with the old two refs trick instead of having Bischoff come out after the fact. RVD finally got to me last night. HHH worked the hell out of his leg, and RVD totally no-sold it. Even Ross and Lawler couldn't believe how poor his selling was. And finally, we learned that Kane isn't scarred, he's just ugly.
In regards to Gail Kim winning the belt in a battle royal, I think that is probably the best way to do it. YOu can't have a newcomer beat an established champ in her first match, so if you use a battle royal where anything can happen, it makes a long shot title win more believable.
I think tonight was an OK show, but as Torchslasher pointed out it was noticeable that the heels won most of the matches tonight. I think HHH did a very good job last night, and for those crying burial, do you think they would actually change the title on a free show against an opponant with little build up for the match?
Assorted RAW thoughts from the man in the black Resistol hat....
- Jericho had an off-night, Highlight Reel-wise. I'm sure it didn't help that Scott Steiner and Stacy, The Bastions of Personality (tm), as guests. - Harmless enough battle royale. I can see the Trish turn coming too. Only thing I don't like is that they gave Gail the belt her first night in. That didn't help Christian or Jerry Lynn when THEY were given that kind of push. - Goldberg gets attacked by.... mini-Goldberg??? Seriously, there is zero skin color difference between Mack and Goldberg. I never noticed playa was THAT light-skinned. - Rico.... ehhh. - Not necessarily a Raw comment, but it was what I was watching during Raw instead and its wrestling related, so: Caught ``Hulk'' tonight and its actually not half bad (much better than I could have anticipated). Anyways, Nick Nolte's character and the gruff, strung-out voice... is it just me, or was he the spitting image of Jake the Snake Roberts from Beyond the Mat? Seriously.... - Booker vs Christian.... no comment. Yeah, I'm sure this to building to something.... heh heh heh - I think they've already screwed up Kane, which has to be a new record even by WWE 2003 standards. He's supposed a monster, dammit! - Randy Orton vs Tommy Dreamer was decent, and helped his push along nicely enough. - I agree with what others said about the main event. Nice to see HHH back in the game again, pun slightly intended.
Anyways, another middle in the road show, but at least they're building up Goldberg and Orton, and leaving Big Sexy at home, so good enough for me.
I hate battle royales for championships. I hate even more champions defending their titles in battle royales. What sick, twisted person thought Scott Steiner in the ring for an extended period of time was a good idea? And, now that they have the Test/Jericho team established, am I the only one terrified that the Steiner Bros. reunite? Rico was in full Goldust '95 mode. Unfortunately, the person who created that mode is already on the roster. If they were going to bring in the Road Warriors for a one shot deal, wouldn't it have made more sense to wait a few weeks to feed them to La Resistance, thus getting your new tag team over, instead of wasting them on Kane/RVD? Terry Taylor, Fit Finley and Dean Malenko on TV at the same time? Sure, I'd watch that match. Onto Booker/Christian. Yes, I know, Honky Tonk Man championship method. Unfortunately, both champions on RAW are being excused as Honky Tonk Man champions. Considering all the times a Booker championship has been teased in the past six months, its getting close to 'Lex Luger Syndrome' developing for Booker, whereby if he ever does win a championship/big match, the fans won't care anymore. Now, RVD/Trip. With each passing week, I realize Trip is becoming more and more like the Nature Boy. I never thought I'd ever think someone could achieve the high level established by Buddy Landell, but Trip is getting there. Now, the match. Could someone in the back figure out the only death caused by the Indian Death Lock is the crowd. I've never heard such silence during a World Title match as I did for 90% of RVD/Trip. And, was I the only one not shocked that after five minutes of working on the leg/Indian deathlock/Figure 4 that RVD would be running around the ring without a limp in 30 seconds? Trip winning without the pedigree though? He might have to squash the roster a dozen times to make up for using a different finisher. Nice to see the Warlord return to chokeslam Uncle Eric. Hopefully this doesn't signal the return of Baby Doll as his manager though. And, this week might have been the best performance I've seen out of Kevin Nash in a decade. Keep up the good work Kevin.
Where have you gone Gene Rayburn, a nation turns it lonely eyes to you.
Am I the only one who liked the Christian/Booker finish? I dunno, it just felt right to me. Also, if I don't get to see Rico vs. Goldust in a try-to-psyche-each-other-out-more match, I'm going to be very dissapointed.

They probably distorted the face because he looked more "scarred" there than he did at the end of Raw last night. While I was disappoited last week with just half the hair shaved and smeared black makeup, it did look better than shaving all his hair off and no makeup. They could have atleast had RVD try to help Kane with his looks and that could explain the shaved head. Or Kane could have just worn face paint and the announcers could just sell that as covering up any scars. Some of it may come off during the matches, but unless it is a really long match, some should be left at the end. Sting, Ultimate Warrior, LOD all wrestled with face paint which remained on in their matches.
Onto Booker/Christian. Yes, I know, Honky Tonk Man championship method.
HTM actually won matches. Aside from the tag match last week, when has Christian won a match since becoming the IC Champ? Would it kill them to have him pick up some wins? Dreamer, Spike, anyone?
To be honest, I didn't remember that. But, I do remember the time HHH lost his European Championship to Owen Hart when HHH sent out Goldust with a big fake nose to replace him vs. Owen. Owen pinned Goldust and Sgt.
