| #61 Posted on 23.6.04 0927.57 | Instant Rating: 2.68 | I thought this was the worst book Raw in years. Rock's promo was the best thing on the show and from that point on, it died. It died pretty much when Eric showed up which is not a huge surprise since his character is stale and a shell of his former self. Orton's push continues to go even though, he has no skills on the mic or ring. I keep saying Batista has all the potential for the future, but he was really sloppy last night. I don't know if his shot to Jericho was a work or not, but he did look bad after it either way.
I also fear that Eugene's career is close to being done. They have done as much as they can with him minus doing a lame ass heel turn. It does seem to happen during the summer they built around one guy, Zack Gowen, anyone, and then drop him come SummerSlam.
I also think they have had matches during the summer if booked properly could give a boost to the company and it turns out poorly. Taker/Jeff, two years ago and Booker T/HHH could have really made for some interesting angle is Booker or Jeff won, but as usual it didn't happen. So, we are left with the same show with the same direction leading to HHH with the belt at SummerSlam. It just sucks, that I see where they are going and not even bothering giving the fans what they want. I know the Raw rating was huge, but next week will tell if they did the right thing or not. It just feels lame that they built all this stuff for Eugene and then have HHH go over, again. | asteroidboy

I liked Bischoff when he was doing the smarmy, used-car salesman schtick. He tried to suck up to the fans, but was still a shit-head. Now he's just this paranoid GM, always mumbling something about appeasing the board of directors. Boooring.
Oh, and WWE has officially beaten the arrest/escorted-from-the-arena-by-security plot device into the fucking ground. Not only that, but a couple of WWE's buddies have picked it up, slapped it, and then held its arms so WWE could beat it some more.

And then they had the police escort it’s corpse from the building.
As far as the rating goes, it won’t be sustained. The WWE generated a lot of interest by having the Rock show up for that first hour, and fans stayed tuned in because they thought he’d be back. Instead, they were treated to a lame-ass beauty contest and the never-ending soap opera, “As the Turnbuckle Burns.”

I know Bischoff's mentioned the stockholders in passing, but he always seems to go back to what his "sister would say" if he fired Eugene.
Why doesn't he care about what she'll say when she finds out he's been sending Triple H, Kane, Goldberg, the entire nWo, and every other unstoppable killing force in wrestling to beat the living shit out of her son every week?

I guess that Eric's sister either somehow doesn't get to see anything that gets filmed backstage or she doesn't watch the show at all, and will just find out from Eugene telling her.
That's a problem with the backstage vignettes. Promotions seem to take them overboard into levels of no logic. Who could forget the time Hogan went insane and saw Warrior in the mirror? Of course, Hogan wasn't insane, as the fans at home, fans at the arena, and the announcers all saw Warrior as well. The only person who didn't seem him was Eric Bischoff. Or how about that time Lita secretly told Stacy she was pregnant in front of a live camera?
