I know they're more likely setting up the inevitable swerve angle which I'm sure will play out nicely, but I can't help but think the obvious route is not the most profitable one they could take.

People would LOVE Regal as a face...until he got in the ring for any significant length of time. Then they'd remember that one of the main reasons they hated him was because of his slow, boring style.

Regal's style is slow, but I wouldn't call it boring. He just has a really unusual style that doesn't mesh well with a lot of other guys. Regal's style doesn't even mesh well with some of the mat guys, like Benoit. But I thought his old matches with Goldust, and especially the old WCW matches with Fit Finley, were dynamite.

I want Eugene to use Regal for his weekly legends-move inspiration and blast Triple H with the Power of the Punch.

Man, I just have to say I love it whenever Orton gets put into a submission move. He actually looks like a) He's in some kind of pain, and b) that he's actually trying to get out of it.

Re: The Joe Schmo promo...

I was tired as hell during Raw, so I was drifting in and out of sleep after the first 30 minutes. I remember seeing a JS2 promo on TV, then falling asleep for a while. When I woke up, it was STILL ON.

I hope they take the Michaels-Kane thing in the exact same direction as Steamboat-Savage, so we can hear Michaels give an interview from his home where he says, through the pain of a crushed larynx...

Didn’t Regal receive rave reviews for his match with Benoit at the Brian Pillman Memorial show a few years back? I’d think that if he could have a great match with anyone right now, it’d be Chris.

With the reactions of raws are getting worse could it be that Smackdown will start improving and getting better? Since it always seems like one show is better then the other at a given time. Yes, Smackdown is a mess but hopefully after GAB they can kind of just wash their hands..and hopefully Angle can wrestle again.

I never saw the Benoit/Regal match from the Pillman show, but I remember a match the two had just a few years ago, and it wasn't very good. It's possible one or both of them were just having an off night. The point, though, is that Regal has an unusual style that doesn't mesh with everybody on the roster.

(Late) Raw Thoughts:

Overall, two segments MADE this show awesome. The first hour, it seemed like only one or two things happened....The opening segment were one of the great things from the show, especially the way they made it seem like a "big deal". Michaels sold the move great (as usual), and Kane gets more of his "monster" heat back. And nice tease of the almost handshake....Man, Tomko just doesn't have it. He looks REAL sloppy. Seems he can never stay on his feet, always slipping....

I don't know why WWE would've shown that LONG Joe Schmo promo. The only thing I could think of is that Spike TV made them do it....I agree with the outcome of the flag match. I know, it would've been sappy and very "Patriotic" to have Hurricane and Rosey win, but this just puts more heat on La Resistance. Plus, ya know, they ARE the tag champs....I think everyone has pretty much said my opinion of the Lita-Pregnancy angle....

The Highlight Reel was the second great thing about the show. Everything about it just seemed to click, and I especially like Trips not attacking Eugene. That would be something I would expect the writers to have done. The tease with "say PEDIGREE!" was genius....The women's tag was pretty painful to watch, and SHG, that JR quote got my attention as soon as I heard it. I am digging Gail's wrestling as of late....I gotta admit, I fell asleep during the main event, due to having to ya know, SLEEP before work today. Wish't I'd have seen it though.

Here's my take on the hidden camera thing. Think of the wrestling 'world' like one long reality show. On reality shows, unless the participants absolutely do not want something recorded, they pay no mind to the camera. Anything can be said/done as though they were alone.

In the wrestling 'world' it is much the same. Unless you make an effort to shield something from the camera crew, it will be recorded. Notice how only the higher card wrestlers are allowed to interact with the camera. In the reality show 'world' only the host is allowed to interact with the camera, so it makes sense. the more valuable you are to the show, the more control you have over what the public sees.

Yeah, but why tell "secrets that you want no one else to know" if you KNOW a camera is there?

Oh BULLSHIT. It's sloppy writing and it insults my intelligence. Fuck THAT. Don't make excuses for it, for crying out loud - DEMAND BETTER.

How in the hell is it sloppy writing? This kind of thing happens ALL THE TIME on reality shows and nobody EVER complains about it.

Edit: Removed the bitchy comment directed at CRZ. (my apologies)

I guess I'm CRAZY enough to be able to distinguish between what I, The Viewer expects from a "reality show" as opposed to a "live pro wrestling telecast" - and to recognise that they ARE different, your attempts to prove the contrary notwithstanding. But please, feel free to talk about my wife some more; that really bolsters your argument and makes me interested in talking with you.

Everything I know about (and expect from) reality TV comes from the first two seasons of The Real World, when the cast was not completly and utterly aware of their possiblity of becoming "famous".

All I was attempting to get across is that in both "reality world" and "wrestling world" you have roving, all seeing eyes that the participants pay no mind to. They both also have cameras the participants are accutely aware of. Is it really so off base that there just MIGHT be some kind of correlation between the two.

Did I say that reality show were well written? No, they insult your intelligence possibly more than any wrestling angle could. Some people may still find them entertaining, however.

Wrestling was reality TV before reality TV was cool.

Ok, one its a wrestling show, intelligence has little or nothing to do with it. I too find the backstage skits when they are trying to keep a secret annoying. Yet, they have been doing this for so long, I just let it go. All television shows have some error in it ie continuity or just poor planning. I understand that after ten years of this crap, you think someone would figure it out.

I don't believe the part that was the most insulting to the intelligence of the audience has been brought up yet: Unless they now sell pregnancy tests at the merchandise stands, Lita had to have a feeling she could be pregnant before she arrived at the arena, as she would have purchased one prior to her arrival. Wouldn't it have made sense for her to take the test before the match, as she would be facing an opponent who has used kicks to the stomach as an offensive manuever in the past, and in an intergender match no less, where a male who throws kicks could hit her in the womb? At least if she took the test before the match, she could try to get out of the match, or attempt not to tag in. But, if they are going to have sloppy writing in one angle, let it be here, rather than in an angle that actually has potential not to suck.

I dont have a problem with the ignoring of the cameras. I DO have a problem with stuff happening on TV and other people not knowing that it happened. I mean, if Lita has to TELL Matt she is preggers next week, thats insane. He can watch TV just like anyone else. At least someone should make him aware of it. If he plays stupid, then it pisses me off big time.

Another thing I hate is when there is cameras in weird spots WAITING for stuff to come to them. Like when there is a fight that goes to the parking lot and there just HAPPENS to be a camera crew waiting for them there. Thats just silly. At least have another camera guy run behind them to get that shot. Something that makes it seem like it wasnt ALL planned ahead of time.

I miss the GWF.
