You know what makes this show an automatic 10 in my eyes? About 2 minutes before Coach & Bischoff started a televised angle for the ECW PPV, I read in Keller's "virtual time" coverage that WWE won't be running any televised angles for the ECW PPV...Keller's since removed that line, so I can't prove it, but hey, I got a good laugh.

So, are they really pairing Edge & Lita up next week? That ought to be...interesting.

Interesting interview segment. I wonder how long Triple H will be "home" for....Daiviri/Jericho was too short, but there were a few nice moves in there....Another great Flair/Christian segment. "I don't like you." Classic....I liked Viscera's old music better. I also liked him better when he wasn't wrestling. What is he, the new Bastion Booger?....

Good Kane/Benoit match, which lasted longer than I expected....Flair over Tomko was the right move, and the low-blow made it all the more right....So, does this Stacy thing set up a Superheroes/Weight Trainers feud?....Interesting the subtle plug for the ECW PPV. I wonder if they'll follow-up on Bischoff's threats....

Decent Benjamin/Conway match. I wonder if they'll make a big deal about Shelton helping Jericho earlier, but Chris not returning the favor...."Yo, this video is horrible"- My roomate Dan, on Cena's music video. 'Nuff said....If this were the old Shawn, I'm sure he'd make some "Sunny days" comment about Edge and Lita....Edge/Kane? Not the matchup I would've went with, but it should be interesting for a couple reasons.

Once Kane won, I felt it was a forgone conclusion that Edge would win, as I feel WWE is planning on turning Lita heel and putting her with Edge. If they're gonna' get heat from the crowd, they might as well get it together.

Christian is by far my favorite performer in WWE right now. Even when he doesn't do that much, like tonight, what he does do he does so well that I can't help but love him.

I'm guessing Hunter will come back to play some sort of role in the match between Batista and the Gold Rush tournament winner, whenever that match takes place.

I missed the Bischoff/Coach segment, unfortunatley.

Overall, while this show wasn't on par with last week (but last week had a ****1/2 star Michaels/Benjamin match, so that would've been hard to top) it was still a really good show in my opinion. Raw is on a role.

The answer to WWE's financial problems...

Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.

Man, Maria is terrible. "The Edge". Ha! Finally, someone worse than Lillian.

Push. Rob. Conway. Now. Pretty rocking match, for the time it was given. Give me 20 more minutes of Benjamin/Conway and a proper feud between the 2, as it'll blow away anything Benjamin & Hassan can pull off. Comway is wasting away in Les Res. Turf Grenier (Patterson's gone, so why not?), and push Conway as a single. Maybe give him a fresh start on SD?

Otherwise, a pretty by-the-numbers Raw. Wasn't really into Edge/HBK. Jericho completely no sold Daivari's arm work, although the Walls of Jericho set up from the corner ropes was a neat spot. Best Kane match in a long time, but he was in there w/ Benoit, so no surprise. Not looking forward to Kane/Edge, though.

This was a great RAW, with tons of great matches, storyline developments, and Viscera playing as the mack on Lillian was wonderful.

Also, Cena's video will be my personal "Greatest Thing Ever" for about two weeks.

First RAW I've seen in a while. I liked it.

Lita and Kane together is pretty neat; they have that psychotic relationship thing going on. Kane/Benoit was a very good match, lasted for a good while longer than I thought it would.

Viscera. Good lord. "You know you want some of my nachos, girl." Hee! Lord. But still, hee!

Did HBK fall on the entrance ramp? What in the world was he doing?

HBK's costume got caught on the ramp, and he was trying to get free from it...

Average Raw...then again, until the draft, I should expect no less.

Here we go here we go

MARIA: Shawn Michaels, tonight you're facing The Edge. Do you think you can win?

SHAWN: I'll tell you what, Maria, I -- did you just call him The Edge?

MARIA: [nods proudly]

SHAWN: ...okay. You asked me if you thought I could win too, didn'tcha?

MARIA: [nods proudly]

SHAWN: I dunno, I guess now that I think about it, yeah! Yeah, I do think I can win. Especially after last week. You know something, Shelton Benjamin I have to admit gave me a run for my money last week. Shelton Benjamin, you are the finest piece of young talent that I have faced in this industry in the last 20 years, and you my friend have an incredibly bright future. Now that notwithstanding, someone's future who is not looking so bright is ... [points at Maria] The Edge! Haha! The name problems aside, he's facing the Heartbeak Kid Shawn Michaels. [...]

If Edge gets pushed to win the World Championship with Lita at his side...

All I have to say is that this would have to be the meanest/smartest thing that Vince has done since Montreal 1997.

"You want some of my nachos?" was the first time, in a very long time, that I have laughed out loud at wrestling. Very good stuff. Viscera was the star tonight. Hands down.

Very good Raw, In my opinion. The briefcase shot was sweet as hell. ECW promotion. Michaels calling Maria on "The Edge".

I'm on a plain. I can't complain.

Michaels was up, and then down(attire getting stuck on the ramp) but he played off the 'down' well enough that it wasn't TOO down. The way he handled Maria's mistake was amazing, and reminds me of how underrated he is on the stick. Not many people can ad lib so smoothly and there's no doubt that it was ad libbed. Decent match with Edge, though of course, its not going to live up to last week's epic with Benjamin, but after the level of effort the two gave in it they each deserve a break.

That aside, show wasn't as strong as last week's...which was the best Raw probably since The Rockers reunion show. Benjamin-Conway could certainly use more time, as this match seemed almost like a squash. That was a nice springboard bulldog from Benji though. I don't know if Rey could even deliver it that crisp.

The last message WWE needs to be sending to young people(if unintentionally), particularly girls, is that someone Stacy Keibler's size actually needs a weight loss nutrient. I enjoy the delivery of the Simon Dean character though, and anytime a Stacy Keibler segment is interrupted brings a sigh of relief. Why is she even still aroud? She's sooo 2001.

I am sure it also happened not last week but the week before. He squats at the top of the ramp and it gets caught in the metal grid IIRC

Good Raw. HBK punks Maria without seeming like TOO much of a dick. The thing about that promo that nobody has mentioned yet is him giving the huge rub to Benjamin. JR talks about him, HBK endorses him, now, can we PLEASE have a decent fued for the guy to showcase himself with?

Divari on the mic is gold, and I am always entertained by him.

Big Vis was superb as well. Taking the dude's nachos was just GREAT! But, cant they get a plant for these things that doesnt LOOK like a guy straight outta OVW?

ECW PPV commercial made it look great. Bischoff complaining about it was even better. Does this lead to Paul Heyman coming back to Raw?

"Captain Courageous, Charisma, whatever your name is"
Christian and Flair's verbal sparring has been the hilight of the night for a few weeks running. Cant wait for them to hook up next week.

But, best part of the night, THE KING wins AWA GOLD! Great to see that film! I forgot how great that crowd was that night. Curt Hennig, I miss ya!

Given his new character as wanna-be mack daddy, I wouldn't be suprised to see that rather strange looking mount that Vis did to become a regular spot and get a name. It reminded me of a line from Bobby Heenan's first book where he was asked to describe what he saw when he accidentally looked in a window and saw Andre the Giant having sex with a woman: "It was like a lion raping a rabbit".

I missed the ECW commercial, but saw the Coach & Bischoff segment. Nice semi-subtle way to plug the PPV, but if instead of being an ECW alum show it turns into ECW vs RAW, they're going to tank miserably. I hope they're letting Heyman have pretty much free reign on this one.

Can't wait for Christian vs Flair.

My wife and I didn't notice that HBK had caught himself on the ramp. My wife was complimenting the outfit during an earlier commercial and when he wriggled out of it on the ramp, I just thought he'd tripped and was trying to conver into sort of a "I meant to do that". I guess I was half-right. :-)

Also thanks for the transcript on the HBK/Maria thing. I missed hearing the first couple lines, so I thought Michaels screwed up calling him "the Edge" and was picking a bit at himself.

Last night's show didn't quite measure up to last week's RAW, but it was still enjoyable.

Please get this Maria chick off the tv... You know, at first, I thought she was trying to take a shot at Matt Hardy when she referred the Edge as "The Edge", you know, since Hardy's official website, the one that broke the news of Edge and Lita's affair is Click Here (theMattHardy.com). But, since she's a hired bimbo, I figured it was just a mistake. That, or U2 fell into hard times...

Christian continues to be my favorite person on RAW. Even when he's not wrestling, he finds a way to make his appearance memorable. This fued with Flair has so much potential.

Overall, I enjoyed the matches. The Benoit/Kane match was just what I needed to remember that Kane is capable of such matches, if given a great competitor and no one is better than Benoit.

I loved seeing the ECW commercial and it even garnered an "E-C-Dub" chant in my house for a minute. Nice plug and acknowlegement of the event. I hope it stays all ECW and the WWE just lets them fo their thing. I don't need to see yet another Invasion of any type.

Still don't want to see Diva Search 2, even if that Hemme girl has proven to be an asset to the company. I'll leave that rant alone, but I hope they give me some grade-A matches as payment for putting up with that trash.

Thank you HBK for giving me that "What the hell...?" moment.

Nick Rivers- Listen to me Hillary. I'm not the first guy who fell in love with a woman that he met at a restaurant who turned out to be the daughter of a kidnapped scientist only to lose her to her childhood lover who she last saw on a deserted island who then turned out fifteen years later to be the leader of the French underground.

Hillary Flammond- I know. It all sounds like some bad movie.

I wasn't able to watch the whole show (this week, it was actually due to work, not disinterest). And, from peoples' reactions, I regret that.

I DID, however, totally dig the HBK "wardrobe malfunction". I mean, when a guy comes out draped in that many mirrored chains (looking like he had just escaped from a giant S&M-spider's web), only bad things can happen.

My question (since I didn't catch any of it) is how are they handling the Christian!/Flair interaction? Is it a heel/heel thing, or does it seem like someone's turning, or is it just two charismatic workers trading barbs?

I'm ScreamingHeadGuy, and I approve this post.

I think as of today, Chris Benoit's reign as World Heavyweight champion becomes his longest reign to date of any title. Here are the titles Benoit's held over the last 9-10 years of his career: ECW tag titles WCW tag titles WCW Television title (3)
