I liked the first segment, as uncomfortable as it was. I just totally dig Edge's heel character. However, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, Lita completely sucks in the acting department.
I like Jericho's new character. It's different but a great way to turn him heel.
Christian continues to bring the awesome as only he can.
Tomko: "Who's Mark Jindrak?" Christian: "I don't know. I'm sure I beat him too, though."
One thing: If they move Christian to SmackDown they've GOT to let him bring Tomko with him.
Poor Stevie. He's full of talent, charisma, and tries really hard, but WWE refuses to let him reach past 'worthless jobber' status. I shed a tear for that poor bastard. Poor, talented bastard.
Gotta' love Eric subtley plugging the ECW show while burying it. "We've all bought tickets to ECW One Night Stand, live on Sunday, June 12th, from the Hammerstein Ballroom, if you hit the Wendy's you've gone too far."
I can't say I was happy about McMahon's part of the interview because the last thing ECW fans want to hear is how Vince helped pay to keep it alive. HOWEVER, Paul Heyman's speech was the biggest mark-out moment for me in a LONG time. Am I the only one loserish enough that when Heyman mentioned how "ECW was about the fans choosing and getting behind their favorite wrestler, like when they took their thumbs, pointed them to their shoulders and chanted in unison the initials R-V-D!" that I pointed my thumbs to the TV? I am? Oh well.
Poor Kane. It's really sad when rape and forced-marriage ends in heart-ache.
If they need someone to play the dumb, ditzy girl, why not just get Dawn Marie to do it? She does it well, and she doesn't sound like she's reading off cue-cards when she talks.
I thought Lillian was great in that segment with her facials. When Viscera started to take his pants off (that's a line you don't read every day), Lillian's face went from light giggling to instant terror. She just played it off really well.
As for Viscera humping Coach... Actually, I think that says it all.
The main-event was good enough. In the back of my mind, I was hoping Edge would actually win the title, despite knowing that it wasn't happening.
Man, they really rushed the whole Hunter's gone, Flair is Batista's friend thing. Everyone saw Flair's turn coming a million miles away, but they could have at least dragged it out for a few weeks. Plus, I must say, that it's a really dangerous trend we're in now where Triple H, the heel, is always the smartest guy out there and the babyface is always some dumb-fuck lucky to be challenging him. Batista is Sting on Steroids.... Oh, that is so the name of my band. Well, if I had a band.

The answer to WWE's financial problems...
Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.
Interesting in that we've never seen Lita really do an in-your-face interview like that. She was actually better as a heel I thought than as a face in her promos, which still isn't saying much....The 2-on-1 was an interesting concept in that Jericho "was late arriving to the arena," building on his "I don't care" attitude from last week....
The Masters/Stevie match was kinda sad, knowing how popular Stevie is/has been and how unpopular Masters is....Didn't see much of the Jericho/La Resistance match, but it seems Jericho is playing the heel....The whole Bischoff/Vince/Heyman thing was interesting, if not a bit long. I still wonder how many hardcore ECW fans will watch, knowing it's under the WWE banner and RAW guys will be there to "invade"....
I'm surprised how short the ECW Rules match was....Don't tell me the payoff of the Viscera angle was that he beats up Coach....Batista/Edge was okay, and I thought Christian would run away with the briefcase. Triple H couldn't even stay away for, what, 2 weeks?

Aw, come on. I'm sure you have an interior motive for saying that.

if you watch on the exit to the promo, right before the camera cuts away edge totally sticks his hand DOWN LITA'S SHIRT and cops a feel. No, I am not kidding. And Lita's face when he does this is hillarious.
I am scissors. Paper is fine. Rock needs to be nerfed.
HHH marks might wanna just scroll over this post...thanks.
Good Raw..until the end. Interesting that the first show that HHH isn't any part of besides a brief mention is the highest rated Raw in over a year (said JR). The bad thing about HHH, is that he has to be in the WHC picture for people to give a shit about him, and even then, all it triggers is please go away. Let Edge man the top heel spot for a while with Lita. They definitely had the heat, and with Jericho turning heel again, let HHH take a hiatus, and try to freshen stuff up.
I was getting very ready to start to really enjoy Raw...and that ended really quick.

The Lovely Mrs. Tracker and I had the exact same thought, and we noted how fresh the RAWs seemed without Triple H. And then he shows up, and we're right back to where we were for two PPV sell periods. Bleh. Not only does this make our eyes glaze over for Hunter, but it makes Batista boring too.
The Shelton match seemed really sloppy, as did the Jericho match.
We both noted that Coach's shirt matches Viscera's boxers, making us conclude they split a pair of PJs last night. And then came the humping. Yikes.
For those of us wondering if the Edge and Masters pushes will lead to them joining Evolution, Edge is totally playing the Tully Blanchard role. And Shelton gives us the slingshot suplex to underscore the greatness of Tullyvision.
The ECW segment was great fun. I missed Paul.

Edge and Lita are a cool on screen couple. I'm sure as hell over the Matt thing now and im sure most fans are sick of it anyway. We all know what happened and we (and especially Matt) need to move on. You can see i'm not alone with the dwindling Matt chants each week.
Well, if Vince wants to make this 'Bischoff invason' thing meaningfull, hows about giving Bischoff SOMETHING to say to Heyman. Talk about one sided. Sure Vince, you love reminding us that you killed WCW, and am glad you did, but give poor Bischoff some kinda crediblity. Can you say 83 weeks in a row? Loved the segment but coulda been better. Am i'm pretty sure this wasen'tt he first time those 3 we're in the ring for the first time together. I'm thinking back to February 04 in that crazy segment when Goldberg speared Austin when he meant to hit Vince.
I actually didn't really want to see Flair turn and didn't think too much about it simply because it's been done to death and we didn't need another fake turn. But as long as Trips is a Ric Flair fan they will stay together. Fun ME anyway. Good Raw.
That was kind of creepy when Lita was giving her promo right into the camera. It was like she was talking directly to Matt.
I wonder if the writers had Edge try to get the crowd to chant "SLUT" at Lita in the beginning of the show so that they could get the crowd (and future audiences) to chant something other than "YOU SCREWED MATT" ?
I marked out when Bischoff, McMahon and Heyman were all in the ring together. Sure the entire promo may have gone a bit to long, but I didn't care one bit.
I was really surprised that what was going to be an obvious Kane run-in during the Batista/Edge match never happened.
I really can't add anything more about Flair and Triple-H that hasn't already been said. Flair's turn was totally predictable, but came way to quick.....just like Triple-H's return.

It wouldn't make a good example of 'WWE Logic,' but I was really suprised that after the HHH beatdown, Edge didn't run in, invoke his MITB shot, and pin Batista for the sneaky title steal.
Y'know, I totally forgot who the REAL star of the show is. Thank heavens HHH came back after a 1 week vacation to remind me (you think he would've come back had Raw done a shit rating last week? Ha!). Not only that, it makes Edge look like a chump because he couldn't beat Batista despite Tomko & Christian running interference, as well as not being smart enough to invoke his MITB title shot after Batista got destroyed. Not only that x2, but it makes Christian (and Tomko, but I don't care about him) look like a chump for getting punked out by the 55-year old Flair for the second week in a row. Not only that x3, but Edge & Christian don't even get to hang around at the end of the show to help out w/ the Batista beatdown, lest anybody other than HHH get even a small piece of the spotlight. Well done HHH: you only got a precious few minutes of screen time, but you sure made it count. Huzzah!
Rest of the show was pretty blah. The spirit of ECW is plastic trashcans & weak brawling? The ECW PPV is just a tool to make Vince money? Yeah, that'll appeal to ECW fans. What's the point to the Viscera/Lillian stuff? And does it need to get so much time every week? Why does Maria get a "character", while actual workers wander aimlessly for months on end? None of the matches were anything more than OK.
I like Edge and Lita quite a bit as a couple, and Lita actually brought the acting... a bit. Well, better than we have seen before, that's for sure.
I also marked out big time when Paul Heyman came out, especially when he mentioned Sabu. He put the ECW over great, although I don't think I'm looking forward to the WWE stars invading the ECW pay per view. Hopefully it's only for a brawl or something at the end of the show. I also liked how King mentioned how he invaded ECW, I saw that a long time ago and haven't heard King mention it yet, I was very happy to hear that.
Viscera's interior motive segment was great, he was hilarious this time around, with the hotdog and the Coach humping. I just loved how he said "Hotdog. No, really, get me that hotdog."
The ECW rules match was way too short, though the cane crossface was really cool. Still, I wish it was longer, Tajiri / Benoit would be damn awesome if they played it right. Edit: Yeah, I agree... I don't think ECW used plastic trashcans and stop signs. I was a bit dissapointed by that.
I feel bad for Richards, I hope he's at the ECW PPV.
I didn't like the handicap match but the Jericho match was alright. I like the way Jericho's gimmick is going.
The Flair heel turn should have been pulled out for at least another couple weeks, I think. It was inevitable either way.

I'm sure the WWE could always say that the contract requires Edge to give a certain amount of advance notice (24 hours, 3 days, 1 week, etc.) before he gets his match.

Vidcaps, anyone? The people demand, er, think it would be funny to see it.
Lita's speech directly into the camera is pretty much the final "F You" to Matt Hardy. I really hopes Matt gets the message and buttons it, or else his head is going to explode or we're going to find him swinging from his shower rod.

I totally forgot about that. Well, they could always make her character so dumb that she doesn't realize she's pregnant. Every week, people ask her when she's due and how the pregnancy is going and she can act as if she has no clue what they're talking about.... yeah, it's a good thing I'm not booking wrestling.
As for the "Edge joins Triple H's group" rumors; I don't think it makes sense for the characters. The whole point of Evolution was that they were there to serve Triple H and make sure HE gets the title. Edge's character is that he's all about himself. Triple H's character is that he's all about HIMself. They should keep them seperate.

I actually think the Flair and Batista will end up together in the end. When Flair saw HHH, he had this look on his face of "oh shit" instead of "look at me screw Batista."
The Main Event was really terrible, though. The match itself was good but the ending was awful on so many levels. First, it makes Edge and Lita look inadequate as a heel tandem. It makes Christian and Tomko look super weak and Christian's supposed to be a rising heel. Edge didn't need to take the pinfall in that match. It's TV, just do the DQ and do the Triple H nonsense if you must.
