What's really disturbing is how much better quality next RAW's show will be compared to Judgment Day. (well, as of right now, but I have no idea how they could save Judgment Day) I think RAW couldve actually promoted a PPV with the matches on next weeks card/plus Last Monday's Main Event. Just think: Eugene vs. Conway, Chris Jericho vs Christian in a cage, HHH vs Shelton, Tajiri vs Batista, Edge vs Orton for IC Title, HBK vs Christ Benoit for HeavyWeight Title. Thats 6 matches, throw in Gail Kim/Victoria, Matt Hardy/Kane, and a random put-together HEAT match, and you'd have a solid PPV card. Thats whats really weird about this situation, currently, RAW can scrape up a good PPV without even really trying, and Smackdown is struggling. Poor Smackdown

I agree with DarkRenegade, the number one contender is HHH The Water Bottle. I think HHH The Water Bottle should be pushed to the moon. Benoit might feel awkward jobbing to a water bottle, but he probably knows its best for the business. The Eugene character is so working.

All right, from the start...

1) 6 man tag - A good match to start. When Evolution came out at the start, we said that Batista can beat both HHH and Orton. He will be a champion down the line. As for the match, had to laugh about Batista writhing in pain after getting the mist, even though the only place I saw the mist was by his MOUTH.

2) Conway/Hurricane - OK match, but my mindset went down when Hurricane's video started. He's pretty much in the same boat as Mysterio, and before that Hacksaw Jim Duggan in the WCW days.

3) Kane/Richards - here's my opinion...I have none, no time, match over.

4) Highlight reel - at least Matt Hardy is actually being used...When Christian & Friends came out, I knew that the segment went past its stopping point. I too saw Christian on the board when Hardy came out, strange.

5) Gail/Victoria - interesting match, I don't know if after Victoria held Gail up for a long time, I thought she would do one of those Warrior drop slams. Gail's landing was strange. Weird move that ended the match, I'm surprised that Victoria tapped out.

6) Benoit/HBK - thank you Confidential, you did not waste our time. I remember HBK talking about being born in Phoenix on Confidential (this was before the "look at us on tour every 2 weeks" or "see us with the troops every 2 weeks" phase). Blood in a HBK match, but from Benoit??? Great match, but of course, HHH brings his big nose in and cause the finish. JR could just shut up once in a while for these situations. UGH!!! Just go away.

Other things: Welcome back Vince!!!! I say it will be a few months before we see him next. It's better to see him come once in a while, not on 5-10 times a program. I read about the Guerrero angle, it will be interesting how it plays out on TV. Regal/Eugene: Very funny. If I saw what I've been reading about for the last few years on Dinsmore, he is going to be a good one (of course w/out gimmick). My thought just now...if you are going to the San Jose Raw next Monday night, I need to see this sign..."I mark for the HHH water bottle" (or any kind of praise to the bottle). That would mark my night. My dad questioned me about Dr. Tom Pritchard, "Is he Brother Love's brother?" I did not know who he was until Regal said Dr. Tom, and I said, Yes. As for next week's card, I thought this week would be the PPV-like Raw, because they do not have the PPV this month, but it looks like next week is the PPV-like Raw we have been waiting for. It is going to be a great one.

Finally, I haven't been doing the Smackdown thoughts, and that is because we don't get to them until Monday (at least for the last couple of weeks), and they have been so bad, that I have been waiting for a good one. After I watch the program, I think we got the point. Hopefully soon, we could get to watching them earlier than on Monday.

Be back soon.

Thank you, that proves my point quite nicely.

EDIT: And no, debating relative sexiness is not entirely baseless and subjective. There's a reason some people can be supermodels, and others cannot - there's very little that's subjective about that. (HINT: is has to do with popular opinion, and not any one specific person's)

Even if you ignore the fact that the desired look of models differs over time as people with a certain image become popular and admired, you really just need to go buy a copy of GQ or Esquire and page through the fashion ads. Orton doesn't look like these guys. Calvin Klein is not going to be flipping channels one day, catch an Orton match and go knocking on the guy's door to get him to sell swimwear. His "look" is not the current "look" that you're seeing in the media these days. Therefore, your argument that Orton's attractiveness is like unto that of a male model; we shouldn't be able to debate it because it's determined by a societal consensus rather than any one individual's tastes; is rendered somewhat hollow.

Also, you're being very smarmy to HMD. Lose the attitude, for fuck's sake. You can disagree with him without being a prick.

Yeah, Gail's music is just a remix of Victoria's music. That's cheap.

Thanks OKTerrific.

I don't know about most of you, but I marked out for the water bottle. Highlight of my night. And I may just be wierd, but I actually see a glimmer of hope for a Kane/Lita angle. Beats me.

Memo to Vince: Next time you're going to put on an extra-extra-excellent show, just for MEMEME, please be sure to check with me on scheduling. All that just for me, & I'm out of town!! And so sweet of you to mention the beautiful women of Phoenix. However, it's good to see that you've got another kick-ass show for me next Monday in San Jose. And lookie there, the following week is San Diego. :-) Shep, we just get really good shows, 'cause we're a really good audience! But no report on the Fozzy concert?

Great opening match, just chock full o' hunks. HHH seems so much happier, & is so much more interesting, now that he's got some really interesting opponents to play with. Shelton is brilliant. Randy continues to progress nicely. Edge is working his ass off for being just back with a broken hand. Batista really is growing on me as he's subtly showing more personality & visibility. And Tajiri certainly has all the working skills to play.

Am I the only one who gets just a tiny bit of a Jim Morrison vibe from Johnny Nitro? Every time I see him.

Conway looked good demolishing Hurricane. (Poor Hurricane. :-) ) I think we needed a little extra Conway solo-exposure before the Eugene debut match.

Kane is such a good psycho-monster. It doesn't matter if Lita overacts or is an idiot -- he's so good at his part.

The Eugene/Regal segments were absolutely hilarious, Between the HHH sippy-cup & the Ride of the Valkyries, how can you lose? This is stuff Regal is wonderful at.

I'd never heard that Shawn Michaels was born in Phoenix. Did they also mutter something about "at an airforce base"? I'm thinking I do have a vague recollection of Shawn being a military brat.

Benoit/Michaels was absolutely PPV-quality stuff. Didn't exactly seem to hurt the crowd to have a true face vs. a mostly face, did it?

Wish I could have been there! (But next week...)

I can't believe I forgot to address that! After such an occurance how can anyone have wasted time in this thread gushing over Randy? Hmm, nipple slips always get massive attention, but no ass slip coverage. Its so isolating being a female fan. Nice moment.

Orton is not on the level of a male model, agreed, - I was "arguing by extreme example." I was only using the idea of a model as a example. I was merely trying to point out that his appearance has a quality which surpasses his peers, in terms of attractiveness. Specifically, it is that his body is more accessable to the average person - he is not pretty because he's a muscle-bound freak. My reason for comparing him to a model was that "he naturally stands out." In other words, when compared to his peers attractiveness, his is model-esque (but agreed, that does not put him on the level of a high-fashion model.)

Perhaps it was a poorly executed comparison. If so - apologies.

Ummm . . . attitude? I think you misread my posts. If i did have attitude, it certainly wasn't as intentional and obnoxious as yours - swearing and calling me a prick and all.

And I don't think "smarmy" was the word you wanted . . . you think i'm being hypocritically sincere? How on earth did you get that? Gimme a quote or something? Maybe I can explain it.

I'm pretty sure Michaels has a heart tattooed on his behind, but different from the one he has on his arm.

That and the fact that even though they're not exactly alike at all times, Johnny looks and sometimes acts so much like a young Don Callus that it's scary.

You're right, I meant "snarky," not "smarmy." Good call.

"You may not like him, but "blows in every concievable way?" You know - exaggerating to that degree does not help you convince anyone of anything, it just makes people not take you seriously.
EDIT: I mean, if Orton "blows in every concievable way," then how would you describe someone who gave a performance like Jackie Gayda's debut? THAT blew in every concievable way . . . and that's not exaggeration."

"Sigh. (<---------thats so friggin' annoying, man.)"

"No, I will not let you "just have" a completely unfounded, unreasonable, and unsubstantiated claim."

"Orton ain't great yet, but "blows in every concievable way" is quintessential i-hate-the-pretty-boy overblown BS."

"Thank you, that proves my point quite nicely."

If your tone doesn't seem the slightest bit patronizing or spiteful to you, it's probably because you're so used to it.

Also, I wasn't engaging you in discussion. I was calling you out on being an asshole. I saw no reason to be nice.

I just got around to watching Raw's opening match and Orton continues to amaze me. After catching Benjamin's kick attempt he went to throw him around, setting up Benjamin's Dragon Whip. Right as he went to throw, however, he shook his head and instead threw his foot to the ground.

That's phenomenal storytelling.

Do you even know what patronizing means?? I don't think you do . . .

As for spiteful - the only thing remotely spiteful was my comment: "sigh. <-------- that's so friggin' annoying man." And even that was a response to HIS supercilious "sigh." THERE's your attitude.
