You know, that was my immediate thought when they went in this direction. I'd go so far as to say I think the tag match at Backlash could just be a complete and utter setup, with Michaels attacking Hogan, saying he used his predictable "I love America" crap against him to lure him into the ring. Bring out the Michaels ego and have him say he heard all the crap Hogan was saying at the HOF ceremony and he doesn't believe it -- that it was Michaels who made the WWE what it is today, blah blah blah. Could be fun.

For what's worth, in the Observer Michaels was quoted from somewhere as saying he's turned down opportunities as heel because he doesn't have that anger in his heart anymore.
Obviously, any match with Hogan would have Shawn booed out of the building.
Actually, they need to do something with Michaels b/c I think the fans will eventually tire and turn on him (and not just in the big matches where his opponents seem to get 50 percent of the crowd's approval.

I agree. For some odd reason, when he was talking about looking for someone who loves America as much as him, my thoughts went right to Kurt Angle. Even knowing they just had a match, are on different brands and that Backlash is Raw-only - Angle was my first thought. I guess that nWo and Hollywood Hogan had enough power to cloud my mind past "I am a Real American". My second thought was Slaughter.

So HHH can book matches now? He just gets to book himself against Hurricane and Rosey and JR next week? Bishof won't allow Michaels to face both Hassan and Davari without help but it's no problem for HHH to decide whoever he wants to take on? Man storytelling is ass on this show now.

Good to see the Benjamin and Jericho fued starting up. Should be fun out of these two.

And am I excited about seeing Hogan back for one more? Um, no. Lets move on shall we?

I also very much enjoyed that part. It just shows another faucet of his character, knowing exactly what Triple H is thinking, what he'd do in any given situation and punish H for trying it.

Yeah, I loved the fact that Batista knew what was coming when Trips attacked him from behind, too. I was like, "Whoa! You're tellling me that someone who works for the company actually watches the show, too?" Heehee. Because too often people fall for things that have been done on so many occasions. Nice touch that Batista didn't-- yeah, it shows he's thinking.

I also loved the verbal barbs Benjamin and Jericho were throwing at each other. The one about Fozzy made me go, "Ooooh, that was cold!"-- and the crowd reacted in exactly the same way. Good delivery by Shelton! Jericho with the "Come on, what'cha gonna do about it? Ain't no stopping you now," was funny. I'm excited about Benjamin/Jericho for the IC Title at Backlash, as I know those two are going to put on a showcase.

Who says either man has to turn heel, though? What's wrong with having two faces who simply hate each other's guts? Absolutely no reason to turn either man heel-- let the crowd root for whomever they want to root for. Certainly both men can display some heelish mannerisms, though, but for the sake of balance instead of the sake of turning one of them.

I, for one, am psyched about Hogan/Michaels vs. Hassan/Daivari, because who the fuck ever thought we'd see the Hulkster and HBK in the same ring? And since they're tag-team partners, the fact that Hogan, y'know, can't really wrestle worth a damn won't be exposed, in theory.

Edge/Benoit at Backlash? Count me in for that one, too! I think it'd be awesome if Benoit defeated Edge at Backlash and gave him something further to bitch about, despite the fact he's got money in the bank.

I just hope they don't turn the "Money in the Bank" contract into a de facto title belt and have Edge put up the contract in important matches. He has a shot at the world title, why would he even RISK losing that? It just wouldn't make sense.

“It looks like WWE is becoming more like WCW every day.” Which wouldn't be a bad thing if they were becoming more like WCW circa 1997. But WCW 2000 isn't a good thing, it's a bad thing.
