Okay, I'll bite....

Aside from the Trish cheap shot on Christy (she doesn't know how to bounce off the ropes?), the women's tag match was decent....As long as we get some Orton injury updates, everything will be ok. Don't they only show surgery footage of faces (and Triple H)? Why would they want to make us sympathize with Orton?....Since the title win- Triple H interviews: 2; Batista interviews: 0....Nice continuity with Hurricane and Rosey coming out again....

I guess you could make a case for Triple H "burying" Hurricane and Rosey, but they were pretty much buried before that match....Has ANYONE missed Chris Master since he was last on RAW?....The Daivari/Shawn segment was interesting- perhaps a Shawn/Hassan match at the PPV?....I'm guessing that Shelton was supposed to be the face there, but the crowd was behind Jericho....Michaels/Hogan team? That could be interesting....Gotta be honest, didn't see much of the Benoit/Christian match. I just found Edge really annoying on commentary....I felt like it was the Olympics watching Batista's first "big promo", i.e. losing points for slipping up once.

Probably the most jacked I've been through Raw in a long time...

Loved how they started setting up for Backlash, with 4 matches right off the bat...

Batista v. HHH for the WHC
HBK/Hogan v. Hassan/Daivari
Edge v. Benoit
Benjamin v. Jericho for the IC

I can't complain about any part of the show really, except for knowing the Diva Search is coming back to crap up the airwaves.

So now Chris Masters' finisher is the "Master Lock"? That's cheez-y enough to turn your fingers orange.

Is it too much to hope that all of Triple H's talk about how unbeatable the Pedigree is will lead to Batista actually ... gasp ... kicking out of the Pedigree at Backlash? Which would actually be cool. But I'm not gonna count on it.

Benjamin vs. Jericho. I can dig it. But who's the heel? It's odd to switch Benjamin so abruptly from tough babyface who takes on all comers to asshole heel who's let gold go to his head, but that's what he sounded like tonight.

To the people who chanted "One more match!" at Hogan during the Hall of Fame induction: Okay, you got it. Now if this leads to Hogan rejoining the roster, let alone holding the championship again, you're all dead.

He just had new hips put in. I doubt he'll even do more than punch in this tag-match. You're safe.

And did I get a perverse joy out of seeing HBK prostrate himself before Hogan? Yes, yes I did. That said it all.

Nobody watch Raw tonight? Hmmm....

I thought it was an ok, if unmemorable show. Not really sure where they're going with Jericho/Benjamin, since Shelton really came off as a mouthy prick tonight. Good to see Christian finally get a win, even if it involved interference. Daivari looked about ten times better in the ring than Hassan, and I'd be interested to see Daivari/HBK in a match where Daivari isn't booked to be the weak 'manager' who needs massive cheating to help him.

Maybe next week Batista will come out to answer Masters' challenge, break the Nelson, powerbomb Masters back to OVW and then reprise Andre at Wrestlemania by tossing out dollar bills to the MSG ringside crowd.

I must admit, Christy's falling legdrop move is kind of cool. And hot.

I'm interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She's a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be? While thinking about that, can I ask another? My Chief of Staff Leo McGarry insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself or is it okay to call the police? Here's one that's really important because we've got a lot of sports fans in this town: touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean. Leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves, can the Washington Redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? Can West Point? Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother John for planting different crops side by side? Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads? Think about those questions, would you? Hemme may turn out to be quite good in the ring. She looks deceant for having next to no ring time.

Davari looks like he can go in the ring pretty well as he took a match that JR was building as a comedy match and ended up carrying Michaels. That was a pretty, pretty leg drop off the top. I'd like to see the two of them take over in the tag division.

I like Jericho going back and focusing on the IC Title, although I'm sure many people won't. He has been in a slump lately both storyline wise and ring wise. Maybe, a good series with Shelton will break him out of the funk. I'm guessing Jericho is going heel since the beard is really starting to grow out again.

Is Helmsley vs JR just a cheesey way to get us to Helmsley/Flair vs JR/Batista?

I'm actually surprised reading this today that there hasn't been more love for the Benoit-Christian-Edge segment. First, it had to be about 20 minutes between the commercial breaks, and how often do you see THAT anymore?

Secondly.... I LOVED Edge on the mic. He was great! Not only did he get a great chance to promote himself and use a bunch of old-school tacticts, but he had JR on....er, edge, the entire time. Hell, even Lawler was gold, egging Edge on.

And finally, the match itself was quite good, with Christian working over Edge for the bulk of the bout, Arn Anderson-style, and Benoit giving a clinic in selling. I didn't expect the finish, either, but on a night where Daivari went over Michaels, I guess anything's possible.

Master Lock challenge? Does Vince feel that since he has lawyers on retainer, he has to lose another patent/trademark lawsuit?
Kane is Dick Dastardly. Trish is the Pigeon. Lita is an uglier Muttley, with far less theatrical range. Now, they just need to play 'Catch the Pigeon' in the background during their segments.
Just give Benoit 15 plus minutes every week, and they at least satisfy the quality wrestling ration.
I have no problem with Trip destroying Hurricane and Rosey. Maybe somehow they can destroy Hurricane to SD where he can be a cruiser rather than a jobber.
Oh joy, Jim Ross wrestling. Since when is MSG in Oklahoma?
Not another 12 weeks of DivaCrapFest.
ON Hogan/Michaels. AT first, I thought Marty made sense. Then, I thought he was going to Slaughter. Now, I'm scared they are going to do the Hogan/Orndorff vs Bundy/Studd build-up one more time, leading to a Hogan/Michaels feud.

And he saw the fear in Batista's eyes when he went for the Pedigree, which means Batista's head would be tucked between HHH's legs, and HHH's arms locked above the back of his neck...yeah, didn't really understand that one.

I enjoyed Raw last night quite a bit, at least the majority that I got to see. The Hurricane/Rosey handicap match was done very well - I always like Hurricane on the mic - albeit far too predictable. They did a great job firing the crowd up - especially their hot doubleteam on HHH before the match started.

Shelton reminded us why he doesn't get much mic time. Too bad, 'cuz he's right, he can do things in the ring nobody else can. I liked his Fozzy line, but everything else was forced. I like the feud itself - especially as it is focussed on the importance of the title. I wouldn't mind if Shelton plays the heel but retains - it could open up a possibility of Shelton vs. HBK or better yet Shelton vs. Benoit - two fresh feuds we haven't seen.

JR's over-overstating the Daivari upset was terrible - it was blatantly clear they were setting up for something later. I did not expect the Hogan announcement, much less it coming so soon.

I missed the Trish/Christy mess and divasearch announcement - or maybe I'm just hoping if I ignore it then it will go away.

I gotta agree with Canadian Bulldog on the Edge commentary for the Christian (w/ Tomko) vs. Benoit match. I would have loved to hear ONE REFERENCE from either Lawlor or JR along the lines of "That's your brother out there!" I did enjoy Lawlor calling Edge "Mr. Money in the Bank". Benoit continues to put on great match after great match - as does Christian.

Very entertaining show last night.

The women's match was weak, and the Lovely Mrs. Tracker called the ending. If the Tough Enough girls can't make it as wrestlers, why should Hemme be expected to? It's more than optimistic to expect another Trish to emerge in a third of the time. Lita finally using Kane against Lita is a great move and could set up Chris Masters' first fued if Trish recruits him.

Christian wins as cleanly as can ever be expected when he faces Benoit. Good for him. Edge's commentary was top-notch and funny. This was a great segment all around.

I'm stoked for Jericho/Benjamin no matter who plays the heel. But Jericho's facial hair always portends a turn. Neither has to turn here, as the crowd seemed into without either man truly stepping out of line. I'm hoping to see a revitalized Jericho out of this and something surpassing the springboard dropkick. I'd also like to see Shelton take the full-on Walls to really set-up Jericho's intensity.

The main event feud sucks out loud. Hunter ran off after the mundane reversal over the top rope, and Batista's promo would have worked much better had it been shorter. Hunter's new strategy explains why we never saw Dave eat a Pedigree, and I like the idea of reminding folks Hunter has a killer finisher. Now if we can just see it without the ref bumps, Flair's interference, the foreign object, etc., all happening before it.

I'm curious about who will unseat Masters, so maybe the WWE has managed to turn the first corner with this guy. I'm hoping Benoit doesn't have to put him over as he did with Hassan and Christian so recently, bad arm or not. This Masters Challenge could parallel Angle's Medal Challenge, and I would not be surprised to see Mark Henry come out of mothballs to win the money but lose the short feud at the PPV. 'Course the idea of that blowoff match quality is truly horrific.

And one last thing, Hassan and Davari are your clearly deserving tag champs. Once they lose to Hogan/Michaels, they can fued with Tajiri/Regal and give the crowd a REAL reason to chant USA behind the champs.

Irony is fun.

And as for your comment about the pedigree, I agree that it's cool for HHH to focus on his killer finishing move. There was actually a thread about this on this board a while back, where people were saying that they miss the old school promos where people talk about how no one can stand up to their finishing move, and a couple months later we have both HHH and Masters doing it. Someone at Titan Towers must be reading the W! :)

And credit where credit is due: Lawler seemed to restrain himself a lot during the women’s match. I even seem to recall him saying something to JR along the lines of, “Alright, let’s focus on the match we have here.” And the end result was that he was a lot less annoying last night than he’s been in the past.

Seems to me they're building up to Batista getting the Pedigree at Backlash and kicking out of it to further build him up as a monster. Otherwise, what's the point of all this? To build up HHH's pedigree even more than it's already been built up over the past 5 years?

That Benoit/Christian match was killer. I just had RAW on in the background last night as some people were over to my house. They are casual/non-fans, but they all got interested in the match as certain points here and there. One big selling point was when Christian had Benoit in the arm lock and was biting his fingers. Everybody loved that part. And each german suplex got a nice reaction about how that "really had to hurt".

Never saw the Hogan thing coming. I thought for sure he was going to announce the Rockers reunion. It took me by total surprise.

One other “Little thing” I noticed in the main event interview.

HHH’s music hits. Batista looks to the entrance ramp. But when he doesn’t see HHH, he actually starts to look around and is able to spot HHH sneaking into the ring! Such a nice change of pace from the usual “Music hits, champ looks towards the ramp, gets attacked from behind” routine.

My main thought with the Hogan/Michaels thing is wondering if it's gonna lead to a singles match between the two (as Shawn went on record saying he'd love to have the match)

Nice show for Daivari and especially Christian.
Christian is an odd one, he's on every show, gets put into decent PPV matches, wrestles top guys, but rarely wins. Lets you think the company really likes him.
He kind've reminds me of how Owen Hart used to be booked.
