Spending most of the 80's coked out of your skull will do that to a person. Remember kids, drugs are bad!

I met Snuka about a year ago at an indy show I worked at. We went for dinner after and he was well-spoken, humble, and not shaky at all. He posed for a whole bunch of pictures with the patrons long after my patience would have been gone. He's definitely older, but he could probably still kick all of our asses.

Didn't see that. But did laugh endlessly at RVd's face while doing the thumbs point. Thats easily the most stoned he's looked in the WWE as he couldn't even get his eyes half way open.

That one quick shot of RVD (despite how many bong rips he took beforehand) really showed how over he is with the fans. He didn't say one word during that promo, and the crowd still we nuts for him pointing his thumbs to himself three times. Not many other people could get such a reaction out of the crowd for doing basically nothing.
WWE really needs to capitalize on this with a heel turn. After Mania or during, right now is a better time than ever before to do it.

Alright, dumb question. How long have the "new" clips for the Raw opening been in there? You know. The ones with Goldberg in them. I know I don't always pay attention to the beginning of the show, but I don't recall seeing them before. However no one has mentioned them yet, so I'm assuming I missed the switch.

Second, I thought for sure, they were going to have Paul Bearer come out during the opening segment. (Who was Paul Bearer last aligned with of the two? It was Kane wasn't it?) Yeah Pete Rose would have been cool, yeah a shadowed sillouete would have been cool or him up in the rafters face hidden ala Sting. But for a markout moment that could have cemented the fact that the Undertaker would have been back without showing him, Paul would have been perfect for that moment.

Third, were Johnny Spade and Stevie Richards separated at birth? If I had missed last week, when I saw the guy grinning out in the hallway I would have thought it was Steven Richards. Course with Stevie matched up with Victoria that scene would haven't played out so well. (He is still aligned with Victoria right? I mean he certainly acted the heel in his match last night.)

Fourth, the driver of the car. Or rather the fact that there was a driver in the car and they mentioned it. And man didn't Jericho just get the ever loving snot beat out of him to stay down as long as he did (it was a shot to the back and a ramming against a table right?). I felt bad for him having to sell that severe of a beating for as long as he did without a) chasing Christian B) low-blowing him while he was on the phone.

Actually, I thought he looked more like Raven back in the late 80's/early 90's during his Scotty the Body/Scotty Flamingo days.

Latest news out of Hollywood is that Sid Eudy was offered the role of Jesus in The Passion. Unfortunately, that fell through due to Sid's continued insistence that he be crucified under the title: King of the Squirrels.

Well, let me be the first to say, I loved, loved, LOVED the new, blue shorts that Victoria was wearing. MMMMMMMMMM... Okay, now that I have wiped my chin, Boring Raw, with the only saving grace being the Rock segments. Lay off him for a little flubbing of the lines, he hasn't really done LIVE Mic work in a while.

Snuka all shakey? Perhaps he was nervous, hoping Jeff Jarrett wasn't hiding somewhere with a guitar, like the last time he was on a Monday night show.

Line of the night, "WALKING PILE OF CRAP"!

Perhaps there is some subliminal messages going out to us to order pizza and somehow the WWE has a kick back deal with Domino's and Papa Johns for some dough.

Liked the start of the HHH promo, but then it dragged on. His line about "get used to disappointment" was ironic, to say the least.

Please Vince, if you do one thing in the next year, FIRE Lita before her awkward ass kills somebody. Although Lawler is right, WHERE IS THE THONG? Is she going commando now?

Molly with a shaved head? Or will she come out with some boxing headgear and a wig? (sorry newer fans, thats an OLD SCHOOL REFERENCE)

And, finally, VICTORIA IN BLUE! HOW SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

One of the reason why Johnny's match with Stevie in OVW a few weeks ago was kinda cool to watch - almost like watching Kirk fighting with himself on Star Trek.

Let's see . . . He was Johnny Blaze, then Johnny Superstar on OVW this past week, now he's Johnny Spade (which may upset the OVW wrestler by the same name). A friend of mine suggested that he keep changing his name each week to find a good one, like Johnny Fever did on WKRP.

Since Jimmy Valiant retired last week on OVW, I was half-expecting him to resign his "Handsome" nickname to Johnny so he could then be Johnny Handsome.

Uh . . . but back to RAW. I usually watch it and tape at the same time, then keep the bits worth keeping. I didn't see anything worth keeping from this week, which is a sad way to go into WMXX. The Foley stuff was cute, but that's about it.

Did anybody else watching Raw on a DSS dish get the Viacom crawl screaming about how EchoStar & Dish Network were gonna yank away all those precious Viacom channels "that you paid for?"

I saw it twice at my pad during Raw. But since I've got DirecTV, and I thought their proposed merger with EchoStar/Dish Network got pooped on by the FCC, I figured it had to be aired nationally by Spike TV (another Viacom goon.)

Anybody?

I saw the thing scroll too, and later, it was on VH1 as well, so I think it is the Viacom stations putting there, but not sure about why, or for how long. I got cable, so it doesnt effect me anyhow.

Pizza... dough... HA!

Also, on the roll-up you can clearly see Lita still prefers the thong.

The show was a pretty solid thumbs in the middle here. Not terribly boring, but kind of lacking the buildup for WM that we're used to. I'll be interested to see what SD looks like.

Oh, and the crawl has been going all weekend on Spike, Comedy Central, MTV, and VH1. I have cable as well, so this garbage is getting annoying.

I have Dish Network (although will probably be cancelling later today since they're taking away my Comedy Central!!) and the funny thing was, whenever Viacom started the crawl, Dish Network put up a big black bar over the crawl to cover it up. If you guys think that crawl is annoying, imagine the lower half of the screen blacked out like a half of a widescreen movie whenever the crawl appeared.

Along those same lines, for how long have RVD and Booker T had that integrated entrance music? I think I kinda liked it. I wonder if the two of them won't be a tag team for the long haul.

Can anybody tell me what happened for "This is your life"? I remember watching the first one and was SO looking forward to this one. But I blacked out celebrating my first day of probation.

Any info is appreciated.

The quick "This Is Your Life" recap:

Rock showed a clip of Mick, pre-career, jumping off a house in a backyard match. Then he brought out the little old lady who owned the house. Mick said the woman had the best pie in town, freaking the Rock out. The lady eventually admitted that she doesn't offer her pie anymore, but she is keeping her back door open for streudel. Hilarity ensued.

Next was a clip of a 1983 steel cage match featuring Jimmy Snuka, with young Mick briefly visible in the crowd. Snuka came out and talked about the old days, but the woman starting hitting on him, and hilarity ensued. Snuka promised to be at Wrestlemania.

They skipped over that part of Mick's life that was of little consequence--his wrestling career. They jumped to the release of his book, and brought out a guy who gave it a bad review. After a bit of teasing, Mick gave him Mr. Socko. Hilarity once again ensued. So did an Evolution heel attack to end the show.

Oh, and along the way Rock hit a bunch of his catchphrases.

The Random Sheet VI: The Ultimate Challenge

-It was like watching Kevin Nash's Funeral on Nitro
all over again. But really, Kane seemed more scared of the guy running the music than the casket. So he does what anyone would do in that situation, and that's challenge the casket to a match. Served its purpose, although the casket took some a couple of nice bumps for Kane, they didn't seem to be on the same page 1/4*. MOVIE RIP OFF OF THE WEEK: The Empire Strikes Back.

-You know, it's hard enough telling someone you love them WITHOUT getting jumped from the blindside, and in this case not in a good way. By the way, if it turns out Trish was the one in the car driving and she called him FROM the car and not from home, I wouldn't be 1000% shocked, but I'd feel a little gypped from a story standpoint. This is the WWE, so neither would surprise me. The Sopranos came back this week, so it's heightened my ability to look for little things in storytelling.

Is it me or does it seem the person who benefits moth from Rock's little busman's holidays to the WWE is Hurricane. Of course, 10 minutes later Evolution woulodn't give him a single move and all was normal with the world again, but at least Rock tried. By the way, if ever there was a segment that called for HOW'S YOUR LIPS? it was the one with Coach, or should I say, the segment with the twin Carltons?

-Look, Rock's doing the "bang bang" thing again...THIEF!! Although really, he looks like he's having more fun than humans should be allowed, God bless him.

-Apparantly, Victoria put on her WWE Women's Antidepressant Title on right before going through the curtain, cause it seemed to kick in a little late. And I know how they're trying to revolve most thing's around Mania for tributal and hisotry's sake...but please, this WrestleMania around, can you please find a pair of clippers that actually WORK?

-Austin is WALKING!! Not in a straight line, oh god no.

-I finally figured it out: HHH's promos are like my dad when he gets on a roll. It's always about how great he is, there isn't a point in sight EVER and no one else can ever get a word in edgewise. Meanwhile, Benoit ain't getting the belt this week. Deal with it right now. Either it's because he couldn't or he wasn't allowed to, but I always felt a babyface title challenge when done right should resemble a presidential candidate. You're walking with a groudswell of momentum behind you and you've made the fans believe. Austin did it in 98..with the pop he got, if he didn't win, Boston was going to end up rioting. Rock did it in late 99/early 2000...they TRIED to do it with Luger (literally even) and it didn't work. Even Michaels in 96 they managed to pull it off with. With Benoit, you just don't feel that groundswell, and perhaps it's been how it's been booked...but if you don't see it next month either, he's dead.

-It's too bad Johnny Suede is already copyright protected, but Spade is as close as it gets I guess. Although look for a future segment on RAW where Austin tears Johnny's clothing he bought the last time the Rock had a yard sale and the week after presents him with a drunken message written in crayon that reads SORRY I RIP YOU SHIT.

This Is Your Life? It had its moments and I laughed. And actually I liked it better than the first one. But then I really didn't like the first one all that much. And in a nod to history, lost in all that was that Superfly would be in Rock N Sock's corner in a nod to history. In another nod to history, he'll prolly stand on the top rope and wait for nothing to hit AGAIN.

NEXT WEEK ON RAW: Big Show and Taker finish that story about riding their bikes in the desert...The BENOIT EXPRESS starts its trek through Nova Scotia on its way to Edmonton...Mick Foley will be able to once again take 3-1 beatdowns...the arrival of Eric Bischoff's new lackey, Johnny Steele...and after Jeb getting a shout-out last week, Grimis getting his this week, even if I have to use something where the word "man" is said and do this ([n]) at the end of it, I WILL KEEP THE STREAK ALIVE!!!!

IIRC, Goldberg has been away filming a movie. Not saying that he couldn't have contributed in some way, but that is where he has been. The entire Goldberg/Brock/WWE relationship seems to be a weird situation.

About UT/Kane, I would have loved to have seen Paul Bearer come out screaming, "He is coming back!!!! He is coming back!!!!" Would have been really cool. Nothing like the Paul Bearer scream.

Mmkay!
A few Raw thoughts:
Show was OK, kind of hit & miss
1) Kane segment - I agree with Mr. Heel II also, I was dying to see Pete Rose pop out of the casket
2)Womens match - Victoria's ass always good, Lita's wrestling always bad. Lita needs something desperately like...a heel turn which leads to:
3)Christian/Jericho segment - The big question is "who was driving the car?". Surprised JR & King didn't hit on this more. If it's Trish it will be seriously lame & make no sense. The other options could be a heel Lita tired of being shunted out of the limelight or perhaps Edge?
One way they could go is have it be Lita, have a new team extreme of Christian, Lita, & Matt who beat the crap out of Y2J & Trish. They then need a third person to help. Edge?
4)Title match promo - Boorrrriing! This feud needs somebody to put some spark in the promos. Promos have never been Benoit's thing & HBK is cutting some boring mutual respect crap & God knows HHH's endless "me me me" promos are totally played out. If HBK would play a cocky tweener & tear up HHH's promo it would help. Would love to have Y2J in the feud just where he could tell HHH to "shut the hell up"
5) This Is Your Life - was OK, some lines had me laughing:
"crusty pie" "get in the corner you sick freak" "stop looking at the Rock's ass". Plus Rock's Snuka impression was excellent "Brudda"
Regardless, I'm ready for Sunday. Just hope they have some hot payoffs.

The Rock's reaction to the freaky old lady was hilarious.

I guess that's what happens when you use pastry metaphors to describe people's genitalia. Confusion is bound to occur. Then again, judging by Superfly's reaction, there probably wasn't any confusion...

I have to agree with the guy who said it looked like Rocky was having the time of his life. It's good to see someone take such enjoyment out of entertaining the millions... and millions... of his fans. God knows we can use more of that enthusiasm.
