Well, I never intentionally go off to piss anyone off or sound negative...but that usually happens, so why fight?

I thought it was a pretty good RAW. I kind of just sat back and watched it, but I made a few points and notes to reference...

The HHH/Benjamin was ok. And really, that is about it. I like a methodical and psychology based match and the early parts of the match were that with all the counter-insults. HOWEVER, in my view, it was taken a little too slow to compensate for HHH's lack of an amateur background and speed. Shelton has been around for a bit and is very fluid in the ring, as evident from SmackDown!, but the ME was too choppy at some parts for my style and it's not because "HHH sucks" or that he is a "political monster," it's because he isn't that good anymore, he's become repetitive, but I will address how he fixes that in a second.

I like how everyone goes Barry Horowitz on HHH...that's all I'll say about that, and I am not anti-HHH, just speaking the truth.

Someone mentioned that Shane Douglas is going to be pissed and "who cares?" Well, the constant "Franchise" comments would make me mad, too.

1. HHH has already been accused of imitating Shane Douglas and the way they overly accentuated "THE FRANCHISE" was lame. What a better way to prove it.

2. HHH and HBK always used to talk about how "Douglas sucked and was never good." but think he is good enough to steal his gimmick. NOTE: Watch HBK flip flop on the Douglas topic and many others in his 2000 Shoot Interview.

I mean, people can say whatever they want about Douglas, and that's what he likes, but I'd take him being the Franchise and everything he has done way over HHH and HBK.

Well, that is all I have to say. It was an ok RAW. I have liked Shelton for a long time and I was happy to see Lance Storm...he can be a good heel, though I thought Rhyno looks like he has been eating a few too many pudding cups. But if they are going to build him up as a Man-Beast again, then I am cool with him squashing Storm.

Yup...awwlright.

No no no, we would have needed the BLACK MIST for that!

Stampede Fan, I thought the same thing about Shane Douglas. When Flair said something about bringing the Franchise back to Raw, I was thinking "Shane Douglas is here?"

I echo the sentiments of everyone else (edit: ok, most people), I thought the main event was great and am anxious to see where this pushes Benjamin, if at all.

Because I view this industry as an art form, and I have a deep appreciation for that art form because I’m not physically able and never have been and never will be physically able to do what they do in the ring. And even if I was physically able, I don’t think I have the balls to attempt it. It’s so dangerous. It’s so hard. It’s so intricate. It’s so difficult. It’s so taxing. I couldn’t do it. And I have enormous respect and admiration for those who do, let alone do it well."

Smackdowns ratings in March, between 3.1 and 3.6, are the same as they have been since March of 2002. Since then they have only hit a 3.7 six times. Ratings aren't the worst ever, they are just like Raw's.

I think the reason for the rebound is that the WWE may believe its own numbers. The numbers that say that only 15% of it's fans watch both shows. If that is true, and I find it hard to believe, then bumping that number to 25 or 30 percent would be a nice ratings boost for both shows.

Great main event. Both guys looked awesome. Benjamin makes an incredible first impression on Raw. Not just the wrestling, but the crowd. Same match, with half the crowd heat, and Benjamin doesn't look nearly as good. That crowd may have made him tonight.

We'll see if, come Thursday, we get a "Raw Rewind" recapping the events of the past Monday.

Umm... we've been getting Raw Rewinds already. Especially since Raw actually has a Pay-Per-View coming up.

I was referring to them airing on SmackDown in the same vein as the "SmackDown Rebound" did tonight.

Raw has always had higher ratings than Smackdown. Raw is Vince's "baby." It's live, it's on Mondays, and it's on at a better time. When the NFL used to have thursday night games, MNF had higher ratings for similar reasons.

I don't like a 3-way rematch at Backlash. Benoit isn't going to win. Why would he win a 3-way rematch? I was really excited about the possibility it being Benoit vs. Michaels 1 on 1 as well. I think it takes away from the Wrestlemania main event by just having the same match 1 month later.

Considering the pace at which things have been changing lately, it might not end up being a triple threat match at Backlash anyway. Benoit and Michaels were a pair of huggy bears in the ring tonight. Michael's face turn might make him out to be a friend/ally of Benoit, and the match could change.

With all this talk about if Shane Douglas will be pissed off at HHH referring to himself as The Franchise, I can't help but wonder if everyone has completely missed the fact that John Cena has been referring to himself as the same thing for a couple of months now, including during his Raw walk-on when he chose the ball that ended up drafting HHH to Smackdown.

With less than 2 weeks to go before the PPV. I doubt it.

Does anyone remeber when Smackdown was Vinces baby. When he was in charge of that show and Flair was in charge of RAW. I remeber RAW sucking badly to the point where Vince appeared on the show saying Flair was making it suck. This was at the same time that Bradshaw was getting a main event push.....wait a second! Bradshaws getting a main event push on Smackdown and now that show sucks. Bradshaw is a curse!

Oh and one more question, does anyone here really like Edge? He doesnt bother me but I dont really care for him. I always thought Christian was the more talented one in the team. The "You Think You Know ME" gothic Edge was really cool too. I dont really care for Edge since he broke up with Christian.

I think next week Triple H will get his win back!

And Shelton will join Jeff Hardy smoking that crazy moonlight and saying: "Do you remember the night I pinned The Game?"
And Jeff will answer: "I could swear it was me that pinned Triple H back in the days, but I really can´t remember. At least not now. Or tomorrow. Or ever again!"

Even if that does happen, there's one huge difference - Shelton Benjamin has talent.

All night Benjamin reminded me of both Kurt angle (for attitude) and Bret Hart (for moves/timing in the ring). I was amazed at this guy.

And hell, I still fondly remember the days when I saw Shelton getting pinned by William Regal in a dark match!

Yeah, there's just something about him. Assuming he has the fire to keep going that Brock never did, he's going to go very far.

Maybe Triple H went to see The Passion and was motivated to stop being an asshole. He sold his ass off for Shelton and totally made him look like a superstar. I don't think they're gonna let this go and forget about it ...they built up to it throughout the show, had Austin, Benoit and Hurricane offer words of encouragement, made it the main-event and had a clean ending to it. But a Stinger Splash? Get this kid a finisher...I've seen him do a 450 splash, but I'd keep it within the realm of a submission...Dragon Clutch anyone?

Edge vs. Kane? What? Kane looked completely lethargic and stoned in his match tonight and Edge just isn't the guy to carry him to anything decent. Hell, Kurt Angle worked his ass off just to get a GOOD match out of him 2 years ago.

Tag match was pretty good, sans the Dusty finish. Since when are Michaels and Benoit buddies? Conspiracy theory: Benoit is being announced as being from Atlanta so the Edmontonians will be less pissed off when he drops the belt back to Hunter. I really don't like the ideal of a three way yet again...why not have Benoit beat Michaels in Edmonton, then lose the belt back to Hunter at Badd Blood?

Coach's sell for the mist was the funniest thing I've seen in months. It would have been the funniest EVER if he had screamed "MY FACE, MY VALUEABLE FACE" ala Luke Perry on The Simpsons.

Nice to Jericho back as a smart-ass Canadian babyface. I don't think the main-event push is coming back to him so they might as well let him have fun and entertain the crowd as a comedy act.

Excellent main event and a decent RAW, for me at least. Coach's selling of the mist was GREAT!

Thank God Lance is in pants again. He didn't seem as motivated tonight on the mic and finally, 1:08 has been shattered.

I was into the tag match right until the Dusty finish. Seeing Benoit put Johnny Nitro in the crossface though was nice. Johnny wasn't a great ref though. Alot of times he was just standing around. HBK had Flair in the figure-four at one point, Flair was down and Johnny should've counted the pin, HBK was even screaming for him to count it. Oh well.

Great main even though. I loved Shelton and HHH going back and forth. I MARKED for the Dragon Whip and the finish totally caught me off guard and left me shocked.

I hope Shelton does pull the "It's All About the Benjamins" phrase back out. I'd ask they bring back his theme and titantron too (complete with Shelton on hundred dollar bills) but they're obviously going a more serious route with him.

Well, count me in among those who loved the Shelton Benjamin/Triple H match... hell, count me in among those who leaped off the chair when Shelton was.

But I'm practicing cautious optimism right now. I hope Triple H resists the temptation to squash Shelton in a rematch next week-- the same way Jeff Hardy beat him for the I-C Title and then got squashed by Trips to lose it right back.

And I'm more than a little concerned about the potential for another triple-threat match between Benoit, Michaels and Triple H. It seems like an excuse to kick off another year-long Triple H title run, but then again I didn't expect Benoit to win the title at WrestleMania in the first place, so... I dunno. Cautious optimism.

Next week, Johnny will go by the name Johnny Fyre. The week after that, Johnny Ice. Johnny Diamond, Johnny Savage, Johnny McDonald and Johnny Harris will follow. By the end of May, he'll have more aliases than Ed “Brutus Beefcake/Booty Man/Zodiac/Man With No Name/Disciple” Leslie. Only Johnny will have been portraying the same character the entire time, while Leslie at least made an attempt to differentiate each character (even if the only difference was ring attire).

I liked the way Lillian Garcia made the name-change announcement, too. “Ohhh-kay... Johnny Spade has announced that he now wishes to be referred to as Johnny Nitro.” I loved the incredulity and annoyance in her voice.

Hey... lay off Shelton Benjamin for using the Stinger Splash... I loved seeing that. Then again, I'm a big-time Sting mark. If Shelton had followed that by cupping his hands to his mouth and going “OWWW!”, he'd be my new favorite wrestler.

Speaking of people who've seen The Passion... clearly Shawn Michaels saw The Passion several times and loved the blood sequences. How else do you explain that he gets busted open until he's wearing red body paint in every match? I was actually somewhat surprised that the red body paint didn't make an appearance in tonight's World Tag Team Title match.

I think Mick Foley's gonna go Cactus Jack on Orton at Backlash. Baseball bat, check. Steel chair, check. Barbed-wire 2x4? Hell, the featured attraction. Either Foley will make Randy Orton into a hardcore legend, or Foley will kick his ass. Quite frankly, I'd love to see Foley kick his ass. This feud has been so incredibly one-sided it's ridiculous. The only way Foley's even still considered a threat to Orton is because of his history and the fact that he cuts wicked promos.

By the way, I loved Foley's line when he said, “You proved yourself at WrestleMania.” Orton smirks, thinking that even Foley has finally given him his props. But Foley wasn't finished: “You proved that in a three-on-two situation, you can beat a Hollywood actor and a guy who writes children's books!” Game, set and match.

Coach's selling of the green mist was the best I've ever seen. Even if I knew Tajiri was dead the moment he did that. Then again, Tajiri deserved the ass-whipping he received-- Coach was being friendly with him, and Tajiri busted out the mist. Peer pressure sure makes people do stupid things.

I agree that Edge's push is probably wasted on him. He needs to get a more interesting gimmick than “the guy who used to clown around with Christian but now likes to just kick ass.” He needs to prove to me that he's capable of cutting a good face promo. And of course, his ring work is suspect. I believe he'll prove whether or not his push is justified when he faces Kane at Backlash. If he can put on a good match, then cool... if not, then I dunno. Give the push to Matt Hardy, because Mattitude RULZ~!
