Mick's wife (can't think of her name off the top of my head - Collette?) really needs to get more input into the naming of their children. Mick must hit her with the names when she's drugged up. What are the odds of the next sprat being called louie? (Or Louise if its a girl)?

Then he's gonna let the kids move in with his uncle and have adventures. Racecars, lasers, aero-planes...

Edge married Val's sister IIRC.

I was there live...and there wasn't a SINGLE available seat. The crowd was way hot and definitly behind Benoit.

A couple of live notes:

During commercial before the Hardy squash they aired a Matt Hardy promo ripping on NJ...I guess they wanted to make sure Jericho got the babyface pop.

RVD and Booker got a mild pop...sorry RVD fans, he's not as over as you all want him to be.

No matter what he says or does...Flair has the crowd eating out of his hand.

Biggest Pops:
Austin
Benoit
Foley
Jericho
Any clips of Taker

Most Heat:
HHH
Dupree
Trishtian
Any clips of Lesnar/Goldberg
The 40 Aussie Fans in matching yellow shirts.

I really felt sorry for the Aussies...they were chanting USA! USA! while the idiots around them chanted every expletive imaginable. Way to go WWE fans.

Sidenote:
On my way to my car I walked by the exit ramp as Dupree and Johnny Spade/Blaze walked to their taxivan, they were talking with the fans and taking pics when I walked right up to Dupree, stuck my hand out and waited for a handshake. He sized me up, and shook my hand, and thanked me for coming out. As this was happening a LOUD fan screamed right in his face "So HAVE YOU EVER BANGED MISS JACKIE?!?!" He turned from me, looked at the guy, smirked and replied in character..." Hell yeah I tapped that ass"

I am now a full La Resistance fan!!!

I was there live myself. My first Raw in a long time too. I thought it was a great show and I'm happy to say that those large V1 hand signs that they showed during Matt Hardy's entrance were held up by me and my friend.

I think the Dudleys vs RVD/Booker match really killed the crowd. Man did that match drag or what?

A few quick toughts on Raw...

Line of the night - "He should take that page out of his book.." - JR commenting on Flair going to the top rope and getting slammed off. Funny stuff. That NEVER has EVER worked for Flair, ever..

Kane and Y2J seem to have been booked the same way...

Lots of ECW style booking on this show.

All 3 Dud's got squashed in consecutive segments...

Note to Shawn "Passion of the" Michaels : we get it - STOP BLEEDING ALREADY. It loses its gusto when you "Corino" in EVERY single match...

the draft. Well, I'm interested in seeing what they try to do.

Yeah, it's starting to get to the point where if you give Michaels a paper cut, next thing you know he's got so much blood over him you think he's wearing body paint.

At WrestleMania, by the way, when Flair went up on the top rope, I think Lawler said, “Someone needs to tell Flair that that never works!” or something like that. Can't remember exactly the way he put it, since I'm loaning my WrestleMania tape to someone. Yeah, y'know, when he goes up there, everyone knows nothing's gonna come out of it. I think I've only seen him actually land a top-rope move twice-- and once was against Harley Race on the DVD. He actually won the match with a top-rope cross-body block to regain the NWA World Heavyweight Title.

Thinking back on RAW, I think another highlight for me was when the crowd started chanting “You tapped out!” at Triple H... I think I saw a little girl, couldn't have been more than six years old, chanting right along with everyone. Ha.

It has worked for Flair. Check out WCW Slamboree 1994. Ric Flair beats Barry Windham in the world title match by climbing to the top rope and hitting Windham with a crossbody for the win.

RAW was eh. Nothing great but usually the show after the PPV is blah anyway. Even more so now with the impending DRAFT coming up.

My prediction: Tazz is coming to RAW and Lawler is going to Smackdown. That would be the best draft day move ever.

-HHH/Benoit interview- What have I been saying, sometimes not having the title makes you more interesting well this is a good case in point. This delusional HHH promo is the most interesting interview that's come out of his mouth in a hell of a long time. He was trying really hard to get heat on him & did a good job. Lots of chants directed his way from "You tapped out" "Ben-oit" & "A-hole". Too bad they all seem overlapping eachother, Jersey should take tips from MSG, those fans can chant the declaration of independence as a group perfectly... Benoit comes out & reminds HHH that he tapped then sucker punch him hard, that was cool! Evolution comes out to sneak attack Benoit but HBK comes running in with a chair. I did laugh Bischoff reminding us that Evolution won the tag match as Flair smiles proudly & puts his arm around HHH as HHH gives him a cold stare. WHAT didn't I suggest something like that!

-Lita/Victoria vs. Jazz/Molly- Is this angle suppose to make me have so much sympathy for Molly, damn she looks like someone from the terminally ill ward. I like Victoria and all but damn I feel bad for Molly and seeing Lita and Victoria laughing at her as she runs the faces seemed like a couple of school yard bitches. Wow did Jazz run full force face first into the turnbuckle I even ouched on that one. What the hell is Lita wearing? News at 11 a rash of teenage Lita fans has attacked Midas mechanics across North America to steal their workclothes because Lita sayz itz kool! At least that took my focus away from her wrestling. Does the team of Molly and Jazz EVER win?

-Hardy vs. Jericho- The sound went off as announcers explain the Trish/Y2J bullcrap from last night. Well it makes as much sense with the volume off then on. Wow non existent pop for Jericho unlike at MSG which he was over like crazy, that slap could have very well be a pedigree because it completely deflated something cool. Why so mad Jericho, you guys weren't even officially a couple and he's so mad about losing a 6 week friendship... Jericho gets DQ'ed like a give a sh*t, no one else does. They messed up one too many storylines with Jericho, this was the final straw because after the insulting turn last might and not giving something the MAJORITY wanted to see I can't see getting into Jericho for a while. I could care less if Jericho is on my TV or not. Go drive away.

-Kane vs. Val- I thought Oregon was the garden state? oh well Kane squash Val... I wish I was friends with Kane he's been having a good track record in recent weeks of stopping stuff that's annoying me in the ring. I could use him in real life.

-Gayda vs. Stacy- Don't know how good a wrestler Stacy is but I kinda like seeing her in the ring, it's all those swinging leg moves she does there pretty unique. Rather watch Stacy then Lita... --Vince interview-- And he's rebooting the rosters? What the hell happens when you have tickets for a show and there's certain people you really want to see! I like the two separate shows, I don't mind once in a while someone jumps but you are going to have a bunch of people jumping to the other side what's the point of trying to make two brands, this seems to kill the notion and make it a farce (they actually been doing a decent job recently) More bad comes out of this then good. Great another thing on the list I hate WWE is doing in the past few days

-Booker/RVD vs. Dudley Boyz- Was this match really bad, add to that to stun silence from the crowd (was it because of Vince's announcement?) RVD ran in Bubba stands looks at him then goes top pin Booker with an obvious set up of a RVD dive from the top. Really bad. This was on commercial break that was really needed (maybe they can splash some cold water on the fans to wake them up, splash some on the wrestlers in the ring while your at it... After the break it looked like the guys got stuff back in order as the work was much better. Interesting seeing the Dudley's heeling it up in this face vs. face contest. Nice reversal of Bookers Ax kick by the Dudleyz and nice finish with Booker hitting the Bookend on Bubba.

-Spike/Trish/Christian interview- Good lord it's as lame as I thought. What a generic, lameass, paint by numbers reason for turning. "Christian is Hotz, Y2J is not" that's the f*ckin reason. The women who build into a great popular character for 3 years who's turn was so illogical is insulting. She's the Diva of the Decade, 3X BOTY, 4X women champ, TV Guide considered her just behind just Moolah as most important women in wrestling in the past 20 years. You make her turn like she's Gayda or a SD slug who has no characteristics? All Trish's accomplishment & being knows as the most "Prestigious Diva" why the hell didn't they USE WHAT SHE'S BUILD in the last 3 years to turn her heel...

She could go around saying "How important she is, how she's the crown jewel of women wrestling, how it has revolves around her & all other women wrestlers should praise her & how a she's a model & became more important then the women who came in as wrestlers". Now THAT'S a top Royal B*tch Heel. Not this rookie characterless "I screwed your friend to get back at you" reason. Save that for the girls who have no personality and you just have to do something with not a girl who can be so much more then that. This is total bullsh*t and it's the beginning of the end of her career which is really sad because she could have made an awesome powerful heel character if the writers had an ounce of originality in their f*ckin brain. F*CK THEM! and F*ck the WWE bookers.

-Dupree/Austin interview- Dupree is awesome "You want us to fight in your war? I'm not going to go to a battlefield and get shot for you American pieces of crap"! I'm sorry but BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Can someone in the UN had to say that quote to Colin Powell... Oh yeah Austin came in, dominated Dupree and drank beer, you know the tired drill.

-Benoit/HBK vs. Batista/Orton/Flair- The only real good match of the night. I am not going to get used to this Benoit being from Atlanta stuff. I guess he's replacing Goldberg as Atlanta hero cause Canadian's can't get over I guess. Flair is still a treat in there, he's been really ON these past 2 days his antics are so entertaining. Ref takes a bump as Foley comes in to run Orton off but not before got the dreaded hands to the steps bump... HHH pedigrees HBK(I still can't figure out was he faking the injury or no selling it?). Pin attempt on HBK as Benoit comes in for the breakup but misses his kick(put the belt on the guy & he gets all lazy on us LoL). HBK gets the crimson mask it's the passion of Shawn as he tags in Benoit who cleans house goes for a sharpshooter as I see HBK leg come across the screen, thought it was connecting Benoit but it hit Flair(I wonder if the director planned that). Batista taps out.

-OtherStuff- FiFi rules! Yes I'm a mark for absurd looking pets and Fifi fits the bill, I did get a bit of a chuckle of Austin snarling at it. It was also really funny when the Frenchmen were worried about "The Draft"(that was funny in multiple ways of taking it LoL)... Orton actually cut a pretty good promo backstage mentioning Foley's kid would look up to him(Orton) as a role model, that kind of stings... Bischoff is teasing an Evolution split, which of course means they wont, right? What about their titan Tron!

-Line of the Night: Dupree "You want us to fight in your war? We're not going to go to a battlefield and get shot for you American pieces of crap" - like there was any other choice
-Sign of the Night: "I Bald Chix"
-3 Stars of the Night: 1)Benoit. 2)Michaels. 3)Dupree - Flair and Jazz were also very strong candidates.

Raw really did a switch, the longest time the main event was boring & everything else in the show worked. Now it's the opposite, the main event stuff is great. The opening promo & match really delivered. I liked La Rez as well but everything else wasn't good. Women division is sliding, In the face side Victoria acting like a jerk & not enduring at all as a face. Lita is awwwwwr now that's someone who needs a change. On the heel side, I'm totally sympathetic to Molly. Jazz is the only one that seems to be doing her role. Tag title match was bad... The re-draft seems like a copout & a step back. Then you have Y2J & Trish my co-Raw MVP's for the last year & a half & they made them totally uninteresting. I don't care what happens to Y2J. Trish is just turned to another generic man hungry heel which has been done so many times & totally misusing her potential. She better not lose her travel buddy next week.

C'mon NHS, you said it yourself. Trish has been the same character for 3 YEARS. She did some great things, but the face Stratus character was stale (perhaps not Dudley stale, but pretty close). I don't buy the reasoning for the turn either, but at least they are doing something new with Trish. And like others have said, Christian of all people is suddenly one of the biggest heels on Raw. It's almost that Trish gave the rub to Christian. I don't see much of a negative with this. And let's not forget that Trish could be still conspiring with Jericho. Maybe it's a SWERVE!

I'm a huge RVD mark, but that tag match was so brutal to watch. The first segment was torture, as all four guys looked lost. Booker seemed especially sluggish, to the point that I thought Bubba was starting to shoot on Booker with some of his punches. They did get back to some decent action after the break, but the damage was done. The finish came out of nowhere, rendering most of the match's psychology as a moot point.

All in all, a horribly disappointing Raw saved by the main event. Because it all changes again in a week, I guess they can get away with crap shows like this.

Missed in all the draft excitement was the fact that there was a really, really good tag match for the belts, imho. Both teams were over, with the crowd behind the champs and against the new "heel" Dudleyz....at least they were acting like heels.

And a side thought, D-Von is way underrated I think. He's one of the most believable workers and has an intesting moveset. Too bad he sucks on the mic and his character is kinda boring.

I just want to say a couple of things. The angle you describe as being the way Trish's turn should have handled actually looks like an exact description of Sable's heel turn back a few years ago. It's not really all that original.

Secondly, whether she ends up generic as a heel or not remains to be seen, but no one could have been more generic as a face than Trish Stratus. She was about as vanilla as it gets. In the early going, she seems to be showing more personality as a heel than she was as a face. (In fact, I thought she was good as a heel in her early days as a manager) Now maybe it's just that the new hasn't worn off yet, but I think this is a role she can play.

I do agree that the timing was stupid. She should have hooked up with Jericho before turning on him. But I wasn't against a turn, just the timing. I also think you may be exaggerating just a tad when you say this marks the "beginning of the end of her career". Trish will be fine. If nothing else, she can always revert back to the vanilla face she was before. When you are as hot as she is, it doesn't take a whole lot of convincing to get folks to cheer you.

Yeah, I have to agree with that. I expected a bit more out of Trish & Christian than what I got last night. The whole I-screwed-your-friend-for-revenge" thing is so Jerry Springer, and I LOVE Trish and the way she has improved in the last few years. They better be very careful with this. I personally think the explanation is lame. But then again, I keep forgetting this is a MALE soap opera.

So, Vince, a new WWE, huh? Sounds good, but after three years of pissing me off, I'm very happy with paying $25 a month on joshi (by the way, a new review is coming soon). For those who don't know, I have a new night job, so I catch the WWE shows on tape (when I'm in the mood to tape them). So in other words, I'll believe it when I see it, and when I do see it, who says I'll like it? Once again, HHH was good on the mic. I still remember the I AM REALITY promo. Wow, it seems he is gaining favor again with most of you. I'm happy to see that, but what about that damn GUT?!?!

All in all, an okay Raw. New WWE? We'll see, Vince.

The Random Sheet 7..7 Days Before BattleBowl edition

"Did you see the size of that gun? It was bigger than HIM!"
-Pulp Fiction

That's kinda how I felt seeing Benoit carry the belt to the ring. Right after Hunter spent five minutes doing his best Monty Burns caught in a barrage of flashbulbs impression. And of course, NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED!! Booker T this time last year got sunk to 3rd fiddle to Nash and Michaels in the 6 man at Backlash after getting jobbed to Hunter and Benoit of course still has to deal with the same two guys he just beat...where's Jack Tunney to not sanction a rematch when you need him. Oh yeah...never mind. "Tap and tap and tap and tap and tap" has a decent chance of bieng a catchphrase if they beat it into the fans' heads enough, by the way. Prove me wrong didn't work, because it's just 3 words sewn together....only because you tapped out is a little too generic and isn't necessarily exclusive to Benoit. And hey, mark the date and time...SOMEONE GOT TO SHUT HUNTER UP!!! Boy, next thing you know someone will get to kick out of the Pedigree and there'll be NOTHING left to bitch about.

-Nice to see during the 2 minutes of the Jackie-Stacy match that La Resistance's poodle is already getting over with the crowd. But then of course Clar-Vince McBoddicker enters the ring and is all "bitches LEAVE" at JAckie and Stacy, and you know when Vince is in babyface mode when he doesn't rattle off a SHUUUTAAAAAP or remind the crowd of who he is in the first 2 minutes. Although Sherrif Austin ignored Primary Directive #1 (to enforce the law) unless in fact Vince secretly installed Primary Directive #4 in the last few weeks as an insurance policy. Oh wait, that was Ronny Cox he couldn't bust, not Red Foreman...boy, I'm a dumbass sometimes. And the point of all of this michigas is that he's going to inject the WWE with a lethal dose of lottery...a LETHAL LOTTERY, if you will.
Which is funny, because they were JUST getting into the groove on RAW, but of course that's not going to mean much if the staus quo was in place and Eddy was defending the WWE Title against Hardcore Holly at SummerSlam, and you know there's NO WAY they'd ever give Bob Holly a title match at a Big-4 PPV. But a new Raw and a new Smackdown? I'd buy THAT for a dollar!!

-Really, it's too bad they couldn't have bought Freebird Buddy Robert's Tuf-Wear headgear on E-Bay, or at the very least I'm sure Michael Hayes still has his phone number. Maybe I'm foreshadowing to next week a little bit. Speaking of thinking ahead, I didn't realize until I saw that Molly with a bald head was going to bother me...now, I'm not going to write letters to the WWE and be a cause-head online about it up to the end of this sentence and I will never mention it ever again, but let's just say there's some bad flashes regarding seeing a female with a bald head and leave it at that. Fill in your own blanks.

-I think Jericho is only capable of 3 facial expressions...he has Rock Star Growl, Smirking Smarmy Asshole and "Someone just pissed in my breadbowl of chili". Guess which one was out tonight.

-And so we get our explanation, sorta...and it was that women are evil. I may be paraphrasing here.

-Mick Foley has a Baby Huey!! Hopefully he doesn't leave him backstage so that his boss' son doesn't taunt him by going WHICH WAY DID HE GO? WHICH WAY DID SHANE GO?

(the classics never die...no matter how much we try and kill them :D)

-After driving the Undertaker back to 1990, Kane comes out at a time when Val Venis is partying like it's 1998 and stops him before he parties like it's 1988 and gives that woman a Rude Awakening. OMG, Kane is the human Gimmick Reset Button!!

-And it's un, deux, trois WHAT ARE WE FIGHTING FOR [or quatre]? Really, Rob Conway needs to start using "can't you tell by my OUTRAGEOUS accent?" as a catchphrase...that is all.

-You know they're trying to Benoit over when if it's between Batista and Flair to do the honors they give it to Batista...I think. You could look at it both ways.

NEXT WEEK ON RAW: Dusty Rhodes comes storming onto RAW with a summons claiming putting wrestler's names in a drum was his idea....Rikishi and Rosey conspire to kidnap Fifi the Dog...During the drawing, Kane attacks and buries Bob Holly, having him come back the week after in his #15 Chekered Flag tights...and I take a drink everytime they say "new era", "new WWE" and/or "where it all begins again" and become shitfaced by 10:15

NHS you sound like you've built Trish up far, far too far in your own head as a face character. Sure she achieved alot as a face but she had nowhere else to go as a fan-favorite. A heel turn was way overdue, she bored me rigid lately in the ring, when she actually got in it. Fact is with Y2J she was going nowhere, the storyline dragged on too long and labored. Why not have them kiss on a Raw after Rumble and then have her turn on him at Wrestlemania.

I was hoping Trish might rip on the fans more than she did on RAW and attack them but I do agree that the reason for her heel turn was lame but it is wrestling. You're idea wasn't too much better but it was better.

Trish has got more heel heat in 24 hours than many heels get in a lifetime, how's that misuing her potential? She is a natural heel and should be praised for it.

As for her travelling buddy, I take it you must mean Lillian Garcia? I really hope for your sake by the sounds of it that they are on the same show, which I say they will be, like for sure. Lillian will change shows to be with the other main ladies and Trish.

I must say that HHH has lived upto his standing in the company. Way to go Trips.

As for Lita well she is just shocking. Never been a fan at all. The outfit was terrible - was it her time of the month?

Yeah, I wasn't saying "he had a good point," just that it was funny that he wanted Cole to elaborate, when announcers just usually banter back and forth without much interruption of each other.
