Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, because it is time to WAKE UP! It's Raw, live from Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, NJ...and a Fashion Report, too!

HHH, in half-on black sportscoat, white shirt, black slacks, his left arm in a sling, is out and has a mic. His forehead is bandaged and the crowd chants "You tapped out." He gives an intense-loser promo, and plants the seeds for an eventual rematch. Benoit, in blue tights with black slashes, carrying the Heavyweight Title, interrupts. The two of them share some words before Benoit nails HHH. Evolution comes out, but so does Shawn, with a chair. Bisch, in brown sportscoat, blue shirt, and black slacks, arrives to book Batista, Orton, and Flair vs. Shawn and Benoit.

In the back, Shawn walks; Coach interviews. HBK saved Benoit, his "investment", so he'll get a rematch.

Victoria, in yellow/black "see-my-boobs" top and undies, wearing the Women's Title, smiling, and Lita, in sleeveless/legless grey mechanic's uniform, vs. Jazz, in black bra and skirt, with Teddy, in tan suit, and Molly, in black, wearing a blonde wig. Jack Doan officiates. Ha - "Molly's Bald" chant. Lita goes to pull Mollly into the ring, but winds-up balding Molly, who books it to the rear posthaste. Lita DDTs Jazz for the pin. An average match (didn't we just have it a few weeks ago?).

JR, in tan sportscoat, red shirt, red/yellow tie and black hat, and Lawler, in shiny black/yellow scaled shirt, have no audio. Here's some stills of Jericho vs. Christian with Trish, from WrestleMania. Meanwhile, in the black, Jericho walks before Todd arrives to pour salt on the wound.

Mattitude, in silver/black open shirt and pants, vs. Jericho, turquoise silhoutte tights with black/white rays. Hebner is the ref. Jericho uses his rage to get DQ'ed for choking Matt with a chord. Poor match.

Randy, in the back, challenges Mick to a one-on-one match. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the back, Sylvian and a poodle rejoin La Resistance. Austin arrives on the scene to ticket his "French bitch" (Rene, not the dog).

Val, already in the ring, in a towell, with some Jersey girl, in a black top and worn blue jeans. Girl takes off the towell, revealing purple "VV" undies. Val vs. Kane, in black tights with red barbedwire stripes. Mike Chioda is the referee. Squash.

FOOTAGE! from the Hall of Fame ceremony. That music is pretty kick-ass (also used in the Top Ten WM Moments show).

What - no swinging-blade Backlash graphic this year? But I miss that barbed hook!

Jackie, in pink/light blue bra and "see-my-but" bellbottoms, vs. Stacie, in pink lace-up top and black hotpants. Hebner officiates. Mid-match Vince struts out, in black sportscoat, white shirt (top two buttons open), and grey slacks. Um...whatabout the match? Anyways, Vince states that next week's Raw will feature a lottery, wherein the talent will be redistributed between Raw and Smackdown. Let the rampant speculation begin!

In Bisch's Room of Fun, JohnnyWhatever complains. Evolution arrives to complain to Bisch about being broken-up (possibly).

Dudlyes, Bubba in black "3D" jersey and black/gold camo shorts, Bubba in sleeveless black "Dudley Boyz 3D" tshrit and black/gold camo pants vs. RVD, in yellow "RVD" singlet, carrying the Tag Title, and BookerT, in black hot-crotch flamin' "BookerT" undies, wearing the Tag Title. Chad Patton wears the stripes. The champs are laying around on the outside, so Adbreak does a run-in.

Cont. The Dudleys are in heel mode now. Rob bleeds from the mouth. Bookend->pin. A nice match.

FOOTAGE! from Wrestlemania XX.

Here's some Aussies, who traveled back in time to be here (see, Australia is tomorrow).

Spike, in sleeveless black tshirt and blue/black camo pants, gets destroyed by Christian!, in red/yellow/black shirt and jeans, with Trish, in black top and low-riding black bellbottoms. Trish, the cheap 1-dollar (Canadian) slut, sets the record straight. They bleep "screw"? What the fuck? Dude, Christian, give it up - YOU will never get-over a catchphrase that Austin and JR never could. Ah - the "asshole" boyfriend tangent - all wrestling fans (or at least all one-time-awkward-single-teenagers) can relate to THAT storyline.

In the back, La Res and their poodle worry about The Split 2. Rene promises to do something to Austin.

Rene, in black "La Resistance" undies, carrying the French Flag, comes out to the ring. Austin drives out on his 4-wheeler, in sleeveless black skull-and-crossbeers tshirt, to KickWhamStunner and drink some beer.

Rocky pimps Walking Tall.

Shawn, in black stunned leather vest, black leather chaps, and black "Shawn Michaels/HBK" tights, and Benoit, vs. Evolution - Batista in black undies with arcing red flame, Flair in red sequined "Nature Boy" robe, red "RF" undies thereunder, and Randy, in blue "Orton" undies with hip bolts, with HHH. Mike Chioda is the official. Mid-match Foley arrives at the arena. Chioda is taken-out and all the men fill the ring. Foley runs down and chases-off Orton, following. Hebner comes out to referee. Michaels reopens his forehead. HHH's arm has a miraculous recovery as he interferes often. Benoit with a sharpshooter on Batista->submission. A nice match.

Overall: An entertaining show. But the bombshell overshadowed the second half of the show, hanging a pall of "so what?" over it.

Well, let it "all begin again" (can Lawler be sent to Heat? Please?). I wonder if "The Split 2" is to cover for the sudden loss of Goldberg, Lesnar, Foley, and Rock. Or not - idunno.

I think I heard a scream emanating from Richmond when the names Angle and Guerrero were mentioned in the draft/lottery. And, it would be nice if they figured out that there is a difference between a draft (like two years ago) and a lottery.
Benoit now is from Atlanta? Is that a set-up to him not being on the Edmonton show? I doubt it, but interesting timing.
I wonder if the ghost of Rick Martel from '85 visited Trip in the Meadowlands and commiserated about how cowardly it is for a world champion to submit his title.
And, I guess the fans never forget that Flair got (recognized) #7 in the Meadowlands back in early '91.
What would happen if the Dudleys break up? Gee, perhaps the announcers should watch a tape from 2 years ago when they did split up.

Mrs. Shem commented that it looked like Victoria was wearing an outfit made up of comic strips.

As for Split II: Electric Boogaloo, I'd wonder if it's also connected to the rumors of a revived ECW from a few weeks back -- are they going to be cutting the pie three ways this time?

Perfunctory show except for the two matches you mentioned. It was cool to see the Dudleyz heeling it up, especially because it's been IWC CW for so long that they can't possibly go heel again because the crowd pops for their big moves. And the final match was just good work all around.

RAW Thoughts:

Real good opening promo from Trips and Benoit.....Women's tag was okay- Victoria looks alot hotter than her Divas.com pics make her look....The Jericho/Hardy match wasn't a classic, but it served it's purpose. Once again, I have to question the reasoning for putting the "Highly Underrated" Matt Hardy in this type of squash match....The Orton promo was okay, but he looked awkward as the camera focused on him for to long after his promo before they cut away....So what WAS the whole point of those La Res/Austin segments?....Somebody tell Venis that 1998 called, and it wants it's gimmick back....

I was like "what the hell are they putting a resthold in THIS match for?", then Vince comes to break it up with his bombshell announcement. I have no opinion either way really, at least until I see the rosters next week....Personally, I thought the Tag Title match was hideously terrible (and it just DRAGGED), as all four seemed totally un-motivated....The Christian/Trish promo was "eh". BUT WHO WAS SPIKED SUPPOSED TO FIGHT?!?!?!....The Main event was good, and Michaels better be talking to the Red Cross about getting some more blood. Nice of Ross to say Flair oughta take the top rope move out of his playbook. Good RAW tonight.

Ok...what the HELL was the point of Stone Cold absolutely crushing Rene?

I mean, I understand him going over Brock and Goldberg yesterday with the stunners, those guys are leaving and not really superstars that the WWE sees as important in the future.

But La resistance, while typical midcarders at this point, are at least guys who will be continuing on with the company. Austin gains nothing, zero, ziltch from the squash today. He's NOT an active wrestler, and he's already super-over with fans, why further bury an adequate jobber, continuing this charade that somehow Stone Cold could crush anyone on both rosters anytime he chooses?

Perhaps this is the start of a grand new angle, but so far it's pointless and worse, it has me disliking Austin more and more. Great job WWE.

So I wasn't the only one that heard Benoit as being from Atlanta ...

I thought a La Resistance turn on Conway was going down tonight ...

RAW was kinda blah to me ... that title match went on way too long ... so are the Dudleys going heel now?

I interested to see what's in store for next week ...

Typical post-PPV take it easy show. Random stuff:

--keep Lita out of the ring. The 1 move she can pull off rather flawlessly is the DDT, and that's really just falling onto your back. So-so women's match, really broke down once Lita went on offense.

--nice opening promo. Benoit came across well.

--Grenier's back! Y'know, Le Res was doing just fine without him. And I fail to see the point in Austin destroying Dupree.

--Trish/Christian - I'm liking this. Slut Trish = yow!

--man, that tag title match was like the longest match in recorded history (or at least felt like it). Were the Dudz getting boo's?

--ME was good. Funny seeing Flair do pretty much all the work for his team.

--Draft? This is either going to be a good idea, or political games waiting to happen. I guess I should wait before I start bitching. Gonna be weird seeing "SD guys" or "Raw guys" show up on opposite shows.

Christian/Trish (Trishtian?) are awesome together. Trish is the best evil gal since Malificent, and I can't believe the guy who trumped Jericho to get Trish is CHRISTIAN. The guy who threw tantrums. The runt of E&C. The guy with the golden-shower entrance. F'ing Christian! And he's dead solid perfect here.

I didn't see the PPV, but the highlight segment showed me those cool-as-hell floor monitors, which ought to be now mandatory for all WWE shows.

A place-holder episode to tease the lottery next week, but hey ... Benoit with the belt. Nice.

Did the WWE intentionally try to make Molly now look more like Crash and Hardcore?

I have some concerns about the draft lottery, to say the least. The tag-team champions could be broken up? We could end up with both World Titles on the same show?

I dunno. But after last night's WrestleMania, WWE has more than earned the benefit of the doubt from me.

Anyway, regarding RAW.

I actually applauded Triple H when he came out... he helped put on a killer match, and made Benoit look like a million bucks. My hats off to him and to HBK and Benoit for a stellar main-event last night.

Triple H can definitely cut a great promo when his character's well-motivated, huh! And a great rebuttal by Benoit, followed by a mini ass-kicking session on Triple H. God, I marked out several times for Benoit tonight. I loved it when he taunted Triple H by looking at the World Title belt and reading the nameplate. HA! I just wish we could've gotten a close-up shot of the belt, but hey.

Hey yo... when is Molly gonna... y'know, show some spine? Is this some kinda “let's have fun burying Molly” exercise?

Nice Christian/Trish promo, and nice to see Jericho unleashing some rage. Poor Matt Hardy, though. But hey, he got a win! Heh.

Benoit came out wearing the World Title belt, leading to another mark-out moment for me. My family thinks I'm nuts, and it's all Chris Benoit's fault.

Nice RAW overall, but I'm curious and a little apprehensive as to how the draft lottery is gonna go down.

I didn't really care one way or the other, I just kept thinking, "If the guy's in a heel stable, where the hell is his backup?" We JUST SAW them earlier in the show, yet Dupree comes out alone. Did the poodle need to be groomed every 15 minutes, to ward off the New Jersey filth?

Oh, and I also thought that Dupree sold the stunner mighty fine.

After seeing Benoit come out with the big belt and lay into HHH, this became one of my fav Raw's ever...The Dudleys vs. RVD and Booker was something we haven't seen for a while in a straight up tag match...

Isn't the name of Mick Foley's kid Dewey? I koow it's nitpicking but, Orton getting the name wrong turned a cool, old school, backstage promo into another ordinary Orton promo.

Spike took the bump of the night with that unprettier on the floor. And heel trish is hot, while bald Molly is not.

The worst part of the show for me was Shawn not turning. It definately looked like the turn was coming when he made the save in the opening segment wearing, of course, all black...So I figured they would go with the old Benoit fights the whole main event only to get the hot tag to Shawn and Shawn knocks Benoit out. I don't know about you guys, but I'd much rather see Benoit vs. HBK then Benoit vs HHH.

"Seriously, guys, I know how you feel. You know what this promo needs? More me. Mememememememememe. I am. I am. Iam. I am whatever you say I am. If I wasn’t, then why would you say I am. In the news, the papers, every day I am. I am. I’m. Holy crap, I can talk for as long as I want, can’t I? They just don’t have the heart to cut me off. Let’s see. What else can I talk about? Oh! Mick's wife (can't think of her name off the top of my head - Collette?) really needs to get more input into the naming of their children. Mick must hit her with the names when she's drugged up. What are the odds of the next sprat being called louie? (Or Louise if its a girl)?

Shawn oh Shawn why'd do you have to go out and look so mega-yummy in the black outfit and then change it? Oh yeah.. the wrestling match..ahem.

The irony of having the first post-"where it all begins again" show with Val Venis coming out in his 1998 schtick. Please fire him(and Gayda).

LOLs at poodle the most interesting thing ever about La Resistance. If they get split up then who gets custody of it? I hope Conway gets a chance to break away, he ain't too bad.

I think Grenier coming back means that Conway goes to another show and gets to shine on his own. Good thing, since he's more talented than the other two combined.

Was Trish, uh, acting? Because the valley girl stuff is kinda, um, lame.

I'm pretty sure the woman taking off Venis' towel was his wife.
