It is a miracle. In his opening boredomefest, Trip actually admits he doesn't put asses in the seats. Admission is the first step.
Can't remember seeing Flair buried that badly, except in a Las Vegas desert with Vince Russo in charge.
Does anyone actually think Piper makes it to Mania to host Piper's Pit? No real shock on the Hogan announcement, and the question on Billy Graham being on the East Coast is Did Vince actually think Bruno was going to say yes to joining the Hall of Fame last week www.bostonherald.com Sat 2/26/05 Joe Fitzgerald column detailing Bruno's refusal due to his hatred of the product (ie Vince never put his son on top).*
Gotta love the USA chant for the Benoit match. Then again, on 9/12/01 a crowd outside the train station in Providence was ready to lynch a Sikh person being pulled off of a train for carrying a knife, so racial sensitivity is not always a strongsuit.
Are there tag team champs on RAW?
Wouldn't taking the belt off of Benjamin by DQ at least have given him something to do for Mania?
Michaels bladed like it was X-Mas Night 1986. A street fight in a heavy snowstorm and they don't use the snow? For shame. And, did Kurt Angle at least travel with an extra pair of slacks?

*Since the Herald charges for the content online, some snippets that involve Bruno's comments:

"You never heard vulgar language from wrestlers then" Sammartino, now 69, said in his home from Pittsburgh where he made news this week by declining induction into pro wrestling's hall of fame, the second time he's snubbed such an offer.
Bruno then states he divorced himself from the industry, wouldn't have any principles if he allowed himself to be involved in the industry and the usual drug use/sexual exploitation complaint.

The opening was your usual Triple H caveman interview, but at least he has a reason. And poor Hurricane has to take the brunt of his anger....Benoit/Hassan was pretty ugly in spots (he can't even get whipped into the ropes correctly?)....Looks like they got the "Hulk" rigts cleared up. Good to see him going in, and it was a mark-out moment just hearing "Real American" again....

These wussified suplex finishers look really lame. But hopefully, Shelton can move on to an actual feud now....Austin on Piper's Pit: AWESOME....My roomate (a former H.S. wrestler) says Masters could snap someones neck on that full nelson when he picks him up and puts him down. At least he did the polish hammer to the chest this time....Why does every one of Triple H's opponents have to say, "Yeah, he's the best- maybe the best ever"....

Man, just thinking about that 24/7 hardcore rule- they coulda done SO much more with that....Was it just me, or was Jericho's "Walls" more of a Boston Crab this week?....Six man ladders? Color me intrigued....Man, that didn't even look like JBL at first. And Coach as the judge? I love it....

That "Playboy" cover is not great, IMO....Trish has nice penmanship using spray-paint....Great main event, but I can see how other people may not like it (it was spot, rest, spot, repeat)....I like Michaels as much as the next person, but there is NO reason he should've gone over here.

How bad did Hassan & Snitsky look in their respective matches?

It almost looked like they stopped the Benoit/Hassan match because it sucked so bad. I just don't think Hassan could keep up.

Was I the only one that cringed with Snitsky almost dropped Shelton on his head?

Jericho? Ladder? I like the sounds of it already. Here's to hoping Benoit, Edge & Christian get thrown into that mix. Maybe for Shelton's IC title.

Hogan in the HOF ... hell yeah! ... I wonder if the whole Marvel thing is over since they were calling him Hulk Hogan?

Nice main event with a good ending.

So, does anyone know who the jobber who Masters beat was? J.R. and Lawler didn't even bother to mention the poor kid's name (though that's understandable; he WAS a jobber)!

So Hogan FINALLY got a spot in the Hall of Fame! HALLELUJAH!

Also, they dedicated a small portion of the show to The Rock in "Be Cool". What's all this talk about Rock wanting nothing to do with WWE anymore?

Don't care for Hulk Hogan actually, but I couldn't be happier about him being in the HOF. He really deserves it as there are very few people who have done what he's done.
Trish is the only woman I've ever seen with a black eye who is still jawdroppingly gorgeous. And I'm from the south so I've seen some pretty attractive women with black eyes.
The image of Angle covered in Micheals' blood was great and it was similar to the coldhearted build he had to his match with Eddie last year.
Orton+Deadman=suck!
EDIT: Is it just me or did Graham say "Nick" Foley?

I believe he was a ROH guy, Jon Walters or something like that.

Shelton just got the most decisive win over Snitsky you could ask for. Good for him.

I'm hoping the Hurricane ramp bump will be the event that changes the character. Clearing the cobwebs, turning him heel, giving him the Uncle Fester amnesia gimmick. SOMETHING different than Helms leading the Squash Squad every week.

I'm surprised Flair took those Batista bumps so flat on the back.

Certainly looked like they scripted the end of the Hassan/Benoit match on the fly after Hassan missed the headbutt spot. Lawler pushed it as if Benoit was disappointed in winning in such a fashion, but the real story (until they retcon it) is that Hassan lost his first match.

I'm not sure they could do much more to bury Edge as a credible threat to anyone's title.

Yes, the jobber was RoH Pure Wrestling Champion John Walters. I hope RoH gets a TV deal sometime so their top guys won't be doing 90 second jobs to WWE "superstars" anymore.

I know I'm not the only one who heard the old "N...W...O..." voice in their head during the spraypaint job.

EDIT: I believe Benoit has been getting DQ wins over Hussan at house shows.

"What did that sign say!" was said in stereo at the Cerebus household tonight when the unnamed guy dove for the guy in the front row tonight; all either of uf saw was the word 'Fuck...' and we missed the rest. if anyone caught the sign, we'dove to know what it said.

The best segment tonight was the Smackdown commercial. Orton and JBL really showed some acting chops and it almost makes me want to see THE SOLDIER 'AND' makes me want to see JBL in a movie. After the commercial, I found myself just saying 'Wow' a few times.

As for the rest of the show. Poor Sugar Shane Helms. That was a jobber match from hell there.

Those pictures of Stevie from last week were nasty. I hope they knock Masters down to OVW for some training or something.

I'm hopeing this six man ladder match in a Raw/Smackdown mixed match with three from Raw and three from Smackdown. Am I the only one who thought this?

Shawn Michaels bled like a cow in a slaughterhouse and for Raw, that's saying something. Kurt Angle needs to switch over and NOT allow Michaels to screw up Smackdown for me. Shawn Michaels on Smackdown will just be shit.

Over all, another good Raw building twords Wrestlemania. Here's hopeing Smackdown can lift it's self up and join the game this week.

Oh yeah, and yet again, Batista made an impression on Serena. I don't think I like what he does to her 'mentally' but the 'physical' part is 'A-OK' with me. THANK YOU Batista!!!

Lucky my friend has TiVo. Sign of the night: Fuck the FCC. Someone on the very front row was very clever to get that in past security. Man I've never seen a WWE employee move so fast to pull down a sign.

High points: Batista getting a darn good reaction. Secondary name? The Animal...goes with his attitude. Unstopable face monster.

Shelton doing the best he can do with Gene.
Hassan...DQ -4 points if you play Fantasy...DARN IT!

Masterpiece at least got some type of reaction this week. Still boring and weak with the crowd. A RAW Jobber! Woot.
Trish pulling an nWo spray paint on Christy.

Low Points: It was story telling show. Not much much to really note.

Rating Guess: 3.8
Last Week Guess: 3.7 was actually 4.0.

So, Chris Masters debuts to absolutely no heat in a jobber squash last week, so you do the exact same this week? Rather than wasting three minutes and killing the crowd, maybe they could have come up with an actual reason for the audience to care? Right now no one gives a shit and they're killing off any potential the guy might have.

Man, that main event really did nothing for Edge. Which is kind of stupid since Shawn had already gotten his heat back the night after the rumble. Great fucking blade job, though.

This week's WM commercial is soooooo veryveryvery the best thing ever. Bradshaw can ACT, motherfuckers. I kinda like that they played it completely straight rather than comedying it up like the last few. It emphasized how fucking great of a promo JBL is by just letting him do his thing.

Also, Edge is currently at the bulletproof level of heelishness. He could easily afford to lose this match, because he just needs three minutes next week to regain any lost heat. He's had a month to carry the mantle of "Guy who beat HBK" and use it to boost his own value. This loss means nothing to him.

I'm really not getting that WrestleMania vibe that I should be getting while we travel on this 'Road to WrestleMania'. It feels more like a SummerSlam than a WrestleMania, and I never order SummerSlam (or really think about it) so I guess that is bad for the WWE. Then again, it might just be me.

Anyone else out there really starting to dig Edge's promos lately? I want to start laughing whenever he belittles Todd or Maria or whomever at the starting of the interview, because Edge is mocking the product in a safe kind of way, like last night "I thought you were going to ignore what I have to say like everyone else does...."

And then whenever he starts snapping, and grabbing his head like he has to tell himself to calm down... the Edge character is really becoming one of the most entertaining things on Raw, for me at least.

Vince more than likely is blaming Stevie for getting his face broke.
The Wrestlemania commercial was great. Cena and JBL did an awsome job and really made it look like both could be actors. But man they had JBL made up alot, he looked at least five years younger.

But does HBK really need his heat protected? Does he really need a push going into the match w/ Angle? He's already been established as a top guy, so he really doesn't need a huge push going into WM. Why not have Angle cost HBK the match? That way, Edge can go on w/ his demented view of his own worth (he believes he beat HBK fair & square, but everyone knows otherwise), and HBK looks good since he took everything Edge gave him, and only lost because Angle interfered. As it turned out, Edge pulled out all the stops, and still couldn't win. Since Raw is in desperate need of another top heel (there isn't one after HHH), why not have Edge go over? Batista is going to need some opponents once he takes the belt. Who is going to buy into Edge if he can't beat HBK (Edge only won at RR05 because he held the ropes), who has himself come up short againt HHH?

Edge should be 1 of the guys they're trying their damnedest to protect. He shouldn't be jobbing clean on free TV in a big match.

I disagree. He has yet to have a meaningful win since moving to RAW. His RR win over Shawn was a cheat pin and, and his moveset didn't figure into the win. Last night showed his signature move -- the spear -- couldn't get the pin. Again. The promos are becoming one-note.

This is his gimmick right now: No one takes me seriously because I can't win, and my losses are everyone else's fault. It makes a modicum of sense for his motivation, but it became old hat real quick. The Lovely Mrs. Tracker, for instance, gives a succinct mock preview of his promo before the interviewer can finish the set-up question.

This guy is orbiting the main event, and he can't win. Whatever match Jericho is introducing, Edge has to be a part of it, and he HAS to win it. Otherwise, he's just a less successful update of X-Pac. I like Edge as a performer. I think he's got charisma and ability. But the booking is working against him instead of building him up.
