The worst part was when King yells out, "You know what this means, don't you?!" followed by dead silence. Is the silence meant to suggest the announcers can't piece it together, are too scared/bewildered/embarrassed to say, or the audience is supposed to answer back "Dead Man Walking!! Woo-hoo!"?

It was awkward (pardon the pun) dead air. I was hoping Coach, playing the dimwit, would answer, "Papa Shango?!"

For whatever reason Raw never got off the ground for me this week. Even though they had some interesting match set ups

-Highlight Reel- Benoit's biggest weakness is his mic work. So you put him out there to go head to head with Jericho and Flair! They dust off the set and the highlight reel is back. Out comes Chris Benoit. Jericho gives him his props but wonders maybe Flair was right that Benoit maybe can't win the big one like Jericho can when he won the undisputed championship (oh yeah I forgot)... Flair comes out and he and Benoit agree that HHH is the man and the best thing in wrestling (Again! Can someone verbally diss HHH once PLEASE!). Bischoff comes out with new glasses, not just glasses but glasses you'd expect someone who just finished come out of a poetry secession. They drop the #1 contendership and go straight with the title match with Jericho and Christian and set up a Benoit match. Next

-Benoit vs. Henry- I've been impressed with Henry the past few weeks, this week wasn't one of them maybe he is injured from the stories of this past weekend. Benoit missal headbutt on the standing Henry was cool... Benoit nose goblin after the match was bad. Took away all main event credibility LoL

-Rico vs. Dupree- Slow match and with all the concentration by the announcers and the camera on Gayda, it was impossible to get into. Rico did a nice high kick in the corner but again nothing in this match of any significance... Stacy comes out and teases everyone with Gayda. Why tease Stacy and Gayda when it will be just be Torrie and Sable going in PB again.

-Kane vs. Trish- Ummm Trish's pink attire. Trish loves the pink. Hey there's Lilian who looks confused (she does that so well) and worried and Poetry-man Bischoff sets up a match with Kane (I CALLED IT LAST WEEK! I said what would stop Bischoff to book it next week)... Trish looks pretty in the fire reflection, Wait RUN TRISH! Uh oh Kane got here and here comes Y2J for the save. Now Trish runs away as Jericho gets his leg destroyed.

-Kane vs. Goldberg- Plodding, was pretty much waiting to see what wacky Undertaker stuff will happen and it happens. The arena turns blue and Kane looks like one of those blue man group guys... Scary "Ring" video again and stops as Kane gets Gor-- I mean speared... Then RVD makes an appearance and finally gets some revenge on Kane as he fills the ring up with smoke. Coach confuses Paranoia with Paranormal during the match. Undertaker needs to crawl out of the titantron when he finally appears

-Booker vs. Hardy- I rematch from yesterdays Heat. Yesterdays Heat was a fabulous, fast-paced, exciting match. This Raw match, Wasn't. Maybe they should produce the better match on the A-show... They are really pushing a Matt Hardy losing streak, which kind of takes away his entire Mattitude philosophy of being a winner. Well I gotta pick out one positive I'll say nice looking dropkick by Booker.

-HHH vs. Spike- HHH books a match with Benoit and Flair (Can he do that? Sure he can LoL). Also says there will be a WMXX contract signing next week (I call shananagans) Dissed Brock, and calls out an open challenge (my money is Storm coming out)... Nope, wrong it's Spike Dudley who quickly gets squashed and dropped on his head during the pedigree by the great HHH.

-Flair/Batista vs. Jericho/Christian- Who are we suppose to cheer for? Flair/Batista as part of a heel faction Evolution or Jericho/Christian team which everyone wants to see Jericho go face and leave Christian. Jericho got a nice enzuigiri on Batista, goes for the Walls on Flair as Christian fly’s over the top onto Batista... Flair taps out but the ref is looking at Batista and Christian for whatever reason. Batista runs in and clips Jericho's knee and Flair hits the figure 4 for the tap out. I thought the boiling point was going to happen after this match, I guess they'll drag it out one more week.

-Michaels vs. Orton- When they say non-title match you can pretty much call the finish. These two have fought a number of times and this was probably their worst outing. There was no emotion in this match. Michaels did some good spots as he was whipped into the corner and did a flip hard on the turnbuckle and when he went over the top rope it looked like he legit hurt his knee... Hate to say this but one of the best parts of the match was seeing Austin come out in his ATV with Earl in the back and then put the injured ref on the back of the ATV and drives off. Michaels wins with a rollup (Hey that's Jazz's move!) after Orton gets distracted by Foley.

-OtherStuff- Trish coming out of a weight room seconds after we had Stacy/Gayda dancing in the ring. Christian Beatles analogy is somewhat interesting and fitting, conchairdo on a woman is a bad sight... Christian calls out Jericho's selfishness after Jericho gets attacked by Kane for helping Trish... I did get a chuckle out of Austin telling Goldberg he's not only representing Raw but also the good name of Stone Cold and not to do anything he wouldn't do... Austin says if HBK wants a title shot do something about it, huh what?... Test confronts Foley as Orton attacks Mick from behind with a belt shot. Test goes to attack but Orton backs Test gives the hilarious line of "Woa Whoa I just wanted a piece"

-Line of the Night: Test "Woa Whoa I just wanted a piece"
-Sign of the Night: "Go back to Canada" (Ha no better way of showing your ignorance then writing it up on a sign)
-3Stars of the Night: 1)Austin. 2)Lilian. 3)Christian.- Nothing in the ring that held my interest at all. Austin atleast made me chuckle, Lilian brought her acting skillz (or was she?) with concerned looks to Trish and Christian Beatles chat was funny.

Raw really had the "We just flew back from the other side of the world and boy are our arms tired" feel to it. Wait that's next week!... It just never got on a roll from the very beginning. All matches came off under expectations and the stories didn't come close the feel of last weeks very exciting Raw.

smark/net attack wienerville advisory is lowered to YELLOW alert - Elevated (Due to Lesner still being champ, Benoit winning the Rumble, but HHH as champ is still a threat) 1/27

Get your WWE CD copy autographed by Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Trish Stratus and Lilian Garcia after Raw... Oh MY! Christmas has come late. Can't get better then that.

"Okay Rico-Dupree match, but it seems a waste of time when WWE.com already admitted Sable/Torrie in the next playboy, and this match (and last week's) seemed to be to advance the idea that it's gonna be Jackie/Stacy"

I wonder if this is going to lead to a WM catfight with Sable/Torrie vs. Jackie/Stacy as the latter believe they should have been the ones chosen for Playboy?

Probably so, and the response will be a resounding "Who Cares?"

Man, I hate the idea that the wrestlers are playing second-fiddle to the valets here. Especially someone as hopeless as Jackie.

I really think the sign of the night was, "Spit on my face Randy"

My roommate who never watches wrestling caught that and just shook his head in disbelief.

Better that they're playing second fiddle to their valets on Raw than not being on the show at all. People bitch about Torrie Wilson and Sable/Dawn Marie storylines not involving wrestlers at all, so at least there are some matches thrown in to this storyline.

And as for Jackie being hopeless, I'd say she's far more qualified to be on the show than Stacy Keibler. She's just as attractive, can actually wrestle and is a better actor. Of course, Linda McMahon beats Stacy out in 2 of those 3 categories. (And if you can't figure out which two, I assure you you'll find no gradma porn in my IE cache.)

Can't agree on any of those, InVerse, but that's all comes down to personal opinions there.

And they could easily do something with the valets in a 30-second skit that wouldn't spoil a hardearned match for the wrestlers. I don't mind them appearing, but to have wrestlers merely throw away a match so that the valets can get over . . . well, that's like running a diner and telling people that your cooking sucks but the wallpaper is great.

People people people.

You're entirely missing the point. At the end of this colossal cross promotional battle, there will be not one, not two, not three, but FOUR BOOBIES on show. What unbridled joy.

They can have Booker T bill it as 4 times 4 times 4 times 4 times greater than the greatest show on earth. And working on the recently promulgated 'Janet theory' (boobies = ratings) buyrates will skyrocket.

Its win/win no?

I'm sure some wrestlers will be pissed but Torrie and Sable should be on the WrestleMania show in some capacity to help sell their issue. Maybe they'll get a few horny Playboy subscribers to check out the PPV. Although, I don't know why you would pay to see someone in clothes who you just paid to see naked.

In reality, they need a couple throwaway matches/segments to transition between whatever has to follow Angle/Guerrero.

I guess the thread talking about Trips burrying the whole SD roster and how its the worse thing ever. Am i the only one who remembers when title vs career against Goldberg happened last year? "I dont mean that after i beat you that you can go to SD and beat their paper champion..."
The funny thing was the Michael Cole and Tazz got in trouble and edited for taking a shot at Trips during smackdown.

There seemed to be a focus on how RAW is better than Smackdown last night... both Benoit and Triple H mentioned how the RAW title was the big-time, and Coach said something about how this is "where the big boys play." It seems they're setting up something between RAW and Smackdown, although it could be nothing more than the interpromotional matches for Wrestlemania that had been rumored for a while anyways.

Austin was pretty enjoyable last night... his involvement was to set up future angles (what HBK will do, Goldberg/Lesnar), and the RV ambulance bit during the Orton/Michaels match was pretty funny. If he's kept in a secondary role like this, I can live with his sheriff role.

Overall, it was a decent show... the crowd seemed dead, which didn't help things at all. Not a lot of unpredictability, just stuff to move the storylines along. I guess I can live with it for now, although I am anxious to see the Rock and Undertaker show up sometime soon.

What was there, I find little to complain about. Except the announcers, and that is pointless, as it is a given that they will only subtract from the show.

What was not there, was an angle for Booker T, an angle for Matt, RVD, Storm, Hurricane, Molly, Victoria, and Lita. But it's only one show. Have some patience.

At least HHH is selling Benoit's greatness. It's probably not difficult.

No Way Out or February TNA Package? Such a dilemma. Maybe if I skip pizza and fast food for a month I can have both.
