I know, I'm one of the few who probably remembers/cares anymore. However, Vince McMahon carrying the NWA/WCW Belt originally purchased by Jim Crockett for Ric Flair in Charlotte was disgusting.
The true subtitle for Trip's book: Stick a needle in your ass and marry the bosses daughter.
Slight rant: The card is in Charlotte. This might be Flair's last RAW in Charlotte. So, instead of having him wrestle in front of a crowd that was hot for him, they instead waste time on Jericho's band and 3rd rate strippers playing limbo. If they need a justification for Flair getting cheered as a heel, put him in the ring with the disgrace to the wrestling industry Maven, have Flair win with huge cheers, then have Maven snap backstage on Eugene because he was boo'ed. Or, better yet, have Flair make Maven tap out to the Figure 4 like a little girl and then fire him and end this disgusting blotch on wrestling.
Having Batista show respect for Flair in Charlotte is a nice way to keep slowly moving him towards a face run.
Edge still bores me. However, his segment did prove that Arn was the second most over person in the building, just short of Flair. Should have thrown Orton and Edge out of the ring and broken out a 4 way Steve Keirn/Dean Malenko/Sgt. Slaughter/Arn Anderson match.
Weird choice for main events, particularly since Ross was pimping Benoit/Jerico vs. Trip/Batista as the main event for the first 90 minutes.

RAW Thoughts:

Nice SWERVE~ in the opening segment by NOT declaring Trips champ (as I thought they'd do)....The Eugene/Maven match got across the storyline, and not much else....Didn't WWE learn anything from last week's Diva crap? At least it was relatively short this week....Jericho didn't impress me singing, of course he may have been out of breath from running up the ramp....

I thought they played "Fozzy" perfectly- just enough, and not too much for overkill....Dean v.s Hurricane was interesting if only for the amateur moves at the beginning. How long til' Rosey comes out 100 pounds lighter?....I'm starting to buy Edge on the mic a little more....Batista continues to impress in his backstage segment....So, can Bischoff cancel the Edge/Orton match next week if he wants because he's the GM for that week?

The title match was okay- interesting that they use Hunter hitting Batista instead of the other way around- that's how I thought they would've played it. And was Benoit bleeding HEAVILY after the chair-shot, only the camera didn't really show a close-up? I saw it on the mat next to him in a long shot....I impressed my friends tonight by calling the Lita kiss on Trish after Trish said "kiss of death" again....During the tag match, we thought they'd forgotten this match, cuz we never thought they'd put it on last....Yes, that was a NASTY bump Lita took....A surprisingly decent match, to boot.

Did you listen to JR at the end of the show? "LITA IS THE NEW WORLD'S... er, WOMEN'S CHAMPION!" Poor guy isn't used to seeing women in the main event.

Also, I happened to pinpoint the exact moment when Lita's body contorted the most on that dive. "Suicide plancha" indeed.

Speaking of sick bumps, that chairshot taken by Jack Doan was NASTY! Kudos to you, crazy ref!

Triple H's new tan is UGLY. And Orton was beet red after that fight with Edge. So many ugly skintones this week.

Wasn't the last womens main event back during Steph/HHH riegn of terror? Anyways, I thought was a pretty decent match, yet occationally sloppy in places, and I thought Lita about killed herself on that suicide dive, agreed Thomas. Now everybody know where the name comes from. The rest of the show was pretty good even the Chritian's costume. Who did he piss off? Even the filler with Fozzy and the Divas. Just about the right about of time for all. Gosh, don't call me "Cactus" Jack Doan, what a crazy chair shot.

So, who's ready Arab American debut next week?

Re Not the Nitro Girls: I never thought I'd say this, but I hope Vince rehires the Godfather, so these broads can be his permanent Ho Train and we can be spared having to watch them flail around trying to find things for them to do every week.

Vince was awesome screwing with the crowd in the beginning, but the nondecision sucked and (well, someone had to say it) Triple H managed to lose the title without getting pinned. Smahhht.

Hmm ...vacant title ... lots of potential contenders ... Bischoff gets to make the decision ... anyone smell Elimination Chamber?

Mrs. Shem on Mohammed Hassan: "What's with the bat ears?" She also made me change the channel during Fozzy's performance. She likes Jericho, but finds his singing painful.

Oh yeah, the wrestling. I fell asleep during the women's match, but I did see Lita's suicide attempt. She's not going to be the walking kiss of death much longer if she does that again.

Captain Charisma/Benjamin was my favorite match of the night, though. Nice and fast-paced without letting the gimmick overwhelm it.

I was squirming after Lita's head-dive bump. That was just wrong. And besides making me believe she'd end up in a wheelchair, she did an awfully good job of selling tonight (despite almost killing herself). Someone's been giving her pointers, it would seem. Trish impressed me as well. At first, I thought the WWE had something big up their sleeves... saving the Women's match till last so they could interupt with some huge swerve or the return of Kane or something like that. Then, it turns out, the swerve is that Lita and Trish put on a very nice match, with lots of tension and good selling. Good work, ladies.

Someone pointed this out months ago, I think, and it's still true: VKM's crazy power-mad strut keeps getting crazier and crazier.

Dropping the title debacle into Bischoff's lap is a good move. He'll probably be Mr. Fairandsqaure and concoct some kind of tournament or elimination match to decide the winner. All the contenders will be part of it, but the WWE will probably make us wait until the next PPV to give things time to simmer. By then, Batista's turn should be complete, and his presence will spice things up in the tournament (or whatever).

Looks like Flair is fixing to go Batista's way when the split happens. Will Trips have anyone to replace them?

Christian is AWESOME. Even though I like Benjamin, I so wanted him to win the IC belt in that Capt. Charisma outfit tonight. The dish-washing gloves were the cherry on top. A classic Christian moment.

What wasn't awesome were the Divas doing the limbo. How many actually female wrestlers are there left on Raw (you know, the brand with the women's title)?

And then... and then there's Fozzy. Points for sincerity, I guess.

I'm not used to seeing the womens match be the main either. At the end of the tag, I was thinking "Don't they still have ten or fifteen minutes to kill?" Even with the Lita/Trish history segments throughout the night, it never even occured to me they hadn't wrestled yet...until the backstage segment started.

I actually popped for Christian's outfit. I think they should have had him win the title, but continue to wrestle as "Captain Charisma" because THAT's who actually won the championship. He would be so great as the reluctant title holder.

What a moment it must be when you're Maven, the crowd is chanting "MAVEN SUCKS!" and you have this look on your face like "I'm FINALLY getting a response."

Wouldn't it have been cool if Fozzy played their own version of everybody's entrance music?

Didn't Vince look like he was trying to hold back a bowel movement as he strutted to the ring?

That's what I was thinking too, only Christian thinks it's his good-luck charm and continues to wear it by his own choice.

Kick-ASS last half hour of RAW. Even Mrs. Tracker noticed the energy as the tag match deveolved into the DQ: the Batista spinebuster, the Benoit suplexes, the Lionsault, the headbutt, the sumbmission combo. These guys were haulin', and it all clicked for me. Batista's face turn will blow the roof off the arena.

But that was eclipsed by a superior effort in the women's match. Yes, Lita took the dive of death, and I was shocked the match continued with so much attention to her head. Trish was working the neck in the corner. Then Lita hits a long Litasault, and hits it square to get the pin. Lita wore her working boots tonight; even the side Russian floatover pin looked sharp. This was her chance and she ran with it. Good for her and good for Trish for her contributions too. All I've asked of RAW's women's matches is wrestling, and that's what we got. I fully expected a Gene run-in setting up a Kane return (noticed the flashpots on the turnbuckle posts) but no. We simply got the match and a clean pin. Bravo all around.

And holy hell, I am pumped for an orton/Edge feud. Their mic work together had a barely curtailed energy to it, capped off by a mammoth Edge verbal smackdown. I'm buying it. I'm enjoying it.

We cackled at Christian's get-up and hope to see more of Captain Fire Ant.

Not that it was all roses. All I ask for with Dean is a novel finishing maneuver, and we get the cliche roll-up. I liked, however, the exercise touches to the mat moves. The push-up choke got me laughing. The Maven/Eugene match never took off, mainly thanks to Maven's inability to convince me of anything going on in there. His reaction to the rolling pins was almost cartoonishly bad.

I eagerly await next week's show. Bischoff's return. Mohammed's debut. A follow-up Dean match. Edge/Orton. Gimme gimme gimme.

I don't care who's writing this backstage. It's working.

Forget you all--I love heel Maven! I thought his mannerisms were really well done, and his pseudo trip was even done correctly. And as Mr. Heel II noted, he even got a chant for once in his life.

Good energy for this Raw, and despite the almost non-existent wrestling (one match in the first hour, and even that was short), I enjoyed it.

And well done Lita. You exceeded my expectations for once.

SCARLET:That's not six.
WADSWORTH: One plus two plus two plus one.
SCARLET:Nuh, uh. There was only one shot that got the chandelier. That's one plus two plus ONE plus one.
WADSWORTH: Even if you are right, that would be one plus one plus two plus one, not one plus TWO plus one plus one.

Lita and Trish tore the house down. They only went seven minutes and Lita tried to die, but that was still the best, most heated women's match since Trish and Victoria's street fight in January 2003. They pulled out all the stops -- false finishes, scary moonsault, scarier plancha; they even did a top rope fucken superplex. My close personal friend Net Hack Slasher should be immensely proud of babygirl Trish because she carried Lita to one hell of a match, in the main event of Raw to boot.

I may have to start taping Raw again. 9-month old baby with head cold decreed that I had to sleep shortly after 10, so I missed all the fun. I did catch the Maven match, and thought he did a fantastic job on the fake trip, though. Surprised I haven't seen that tactic more often. However, it is a little odd that he's trying to come across as Mr. Cerebral against *Eugene*. Also, his heel turn really came 2 weeks too late. If I'm Maven, I coulda been in Evolution and be a heel. Now I'm just curtain-jerking and a heel.

I like the choice of the main event. It gave two deserving people a chance to shine in that timeslot. And say what you want about Lita, but that was the Lita of old. Easily her best match since her return.

Please don't stick Christian in a feud/team with the Hurricane ...

I agree with what was said above, Flair deserved a bigger slot on the show.

And I hate to say it, but Maven reminded me of early heel Rock tonight (with less in-ring talent, of course).

Three heel championships enter this month, none walk out. I thought they did a great job of using the GM has faces for the month. None of the heels were able to keep their belts and the matches were good as well. Once again, the Taker/Austin/Kane prescedent has come to save us from HHH no longer being champ, so I am extremely happy about that. My friends said what if Eric decides to put the belt on the line during the Royal Rumble, so if a Smackdown star wins, they have to go to Raw would be the stipulation.

I am very pleased Lita got the title after the year of hell storylines they put her in, she deserved it. Both women did a great job and I too cringed at the suicide planche. I love Maven's heel turn, I thought him tripping and blaming Regal was right out of the Ric Flair's book of How to be a Heel. Really good show and a good way to bookend the GM face month.

...Okay, I'll say it.

I'll give Lita props for that landing. I admit, Raw was pretty lame mostly (considering my expectations for Jericho), but the women's match was cool, I guess. I couldn't quite get into it. Maybe it's because it was obvious who won, and also that there's only like FOUR people in the whole damn division now. But, I'll give the old lady her due for taking some nasty hits and staying in there. Same for Trish, but then again, she's always holding up well.

...I still think she's a dumbass, but I'll give her a slight nth of slack this week.

The things on the posts got me too, I was SURE Kane was a-comin out to whup Snitsky's ass after he stuck his nose in on Lita.

I don't know why, but I think it would be very cool to see Battista and Flair turn face, and then, right then and there, at 11:04pm, Benoit, Jericho, and Benjamin come into the ring to join the Battista and Flair beatdown on HHH. The crowd going nuts to see Battista join the faces, and then BOOM, Benoit, Y2J, and Shelton start beating Battista and Flair down, thus making Evolution back to a foursome. Maybe it would leave the face ranks too depleted, but they could temper Shelton's heel turn with a face Christian, and/or whatever.

I think that would totally work, and then they could bring back Kamala for a bloody feud with Viscera to headline Wrestlemania 21.

RAW has the New Year's Revolution PPV in early January. My guess is that it'll be a 3-way dance with the parties involved in the original match or maybe a 4-way with Orton thrown into the mix.
