Serious question, what exactly is The Authority's end game? They don't like any champion, even their hand picked selections. They care little for the loosely affiliated individuals and groups that breeze in and out of their inner circle. They hate people that watch their show. They finally came to the obvious solution of just carrying the belt themselves only to give the one guy they hate with all their might, Roman Reigns, another shot at a shot at the title they said he didn't deserve just three hours prior. These people can't even stick to a story for one show. What do they want?

... and how dumb will Bray look when he attacks Brock in the Triple Threat opening the door for a Reigns victory while destroying his "Anybody but Roman" mantra? Oh, he'll look the same.

There was also some homophobic big shot Hollywood guy who appeared coked out of his gourd wandering backstage and rambling on a live mic for 20 or so minutes to I guess hype WrestleMania and maybe score some Access Hollywood buzz.

This same show had AJ Styles wrestle Chris Jericho! Kevin Owens! Sasha Banks! Some nice little moments.

Truly one of the Biggest Monday Nitros of all time!

I enjoyed the Rock stuff. Sue me. Loved the callback to the 2000 Royal Rumble finish.

Line of the night goes to Big E when Rock talked about Plan B.

Boy is the Authority-Reigns feud getting dumber and dumber and I guess Brock really impressed the Authority by sitting on his ass at home and poor Dean is only in the match to eat the pin. Last year Daniel Bryan put over Reigns in the ppv before Wrestlemania and this year it'll be Ambrose and next year Styles or Nakamura? It won't work obviously.

The highlight of the opening segment was the AJ Styles chant although the super weak chant for Roman after the Authority practically begged them to chant for Roman was comical.

The WWE has so far done a good of making Styles making a big deal announcing him match as soon as HHH finished his promo. Boy did AJ look tiny compared to Jericho backstage and Jericho is not a big guy I believe Jericho is a few inches taller than AJ but he looked six inches taller than him. I hated the welcome to the big leagues kid line that you just know Vince wrote and the announcers were insufferable with that shit. They did such a good job putting him over on commentary at the Rumble and The Raw commentary was a step back.

AJ looks so weird and out of place in a WWE ring. The fans didn't pop as big for AJ as they did on Sunday though they did chant his name during the match and chanted this is awesome seconds into his match with Jericho. Jericho had a real tough time keeping up with AJ and there was some wonky spots in the match and Jericho cursed AJ out in the corner after the firemans carry into the neckbreaker didn't look right. I was so sure AJ was gonna job when Jericho had him in the Boston crab in the middle of the ring and every wrestling fan on social media was shitting bricks. AJ not hitting the styles clash again was something I guess building to him hitting the move and building it up as a killer move is not a bad idea at all. The post match points to a match at fast lane and who knows it may run through Wrestlemania though I rather see Styles face Owens at Wrestlemania. I hope we get Styles vs Neville on Smackdown though I'm not looking forward to Lawler calling a Styles match.

Holy shit does Vince look terrible, he looks like a thousand years old and he really hams it up, please take him off of tv.

I miss the days when Rock wasn't roiled up to the gills and less of a homophobe, but hey at least New Day got a rub.

Triple H has two Wrestlemania main events where the fans left during the match I'd bet he gets a hat trick in a couple months.

I don't like The Rock much either but accusing him of being on steroids and homophobic? It's a bit ridiculous. Lack of traveling from city to city, more time to spend in a gym without having to take medical shortcuts to look good on tv, not having to rely on food high in carbs and sugar to stay bulky looking. Plus you have to ask yourself why would Rock need steroids. He's an actor not a professional athlete.

As for the homophobia the only homophobic thing I saw was the R-truth/Goldust segment which was actually funny. I think you guys meant misogynistic, but if what Rock said to Lana shocks you I suggest you avoid his entire run in the WWE. He hasn't changed.

Accept in keeping up with New Day. Three minds are better than one Rock. They even made a reference to the best (and only) Rikishi promo ever. Also the Usos attacked them from behind unprovoked. Why am I supposed to cheer for these losers again?

Styles and Jericho didn't "clash" very well. I couldn't tell if Styles is moving at a speed too fast for Jericho after ROH and NJPW (which apparently is like training at x100 gravity and then fighting on Earth) or if Y2J has lost some steps.

Kevin Owens is gonna be World Heavyweight Champion within a year, promise. Now bring on Lucha Underground because Vince presents Mex-America feat. Kallisto is killing my soul!

Why would they book a match with three guys they don't like going for a title shot?

Bo Rida was legit better than Flo Rida. This was a scary reminder that Flo Rida is nothing without a good beat and probably a team of writers behind him.

Was Jericho on an all night bender? His eyes were pretty red, just like both their bodies. Chris must have said before the match: "Let's stiff the shit out of each other." Styles flying elbow smash off the turnbuckle was WICKED!

That Rock segment....... I liked the Miz limo swerve, and Rocky to come peeling in. The Big Show callback was ok. The Lana thing, not so much. Also, her hair was down. Put it back in the bun! PAT PATTERSON! He likes his gym suits. The Gorilla position! Happy-go-lucky Rock is not my favorite. Was he on the same thing Jericho was, cuz he lost his lines a couple of times. Also, we got:
"Youcan'tsaypenisesontvyoucan'tsaypenisesontvyoucan'tsaypenisesontv........".

Kudos to Vince for FINALLY acknowledging those guys that keep showing up in the UT/Hogan/Savage costumes. That's all it took to stop the crowd from chanting Savage. I had noticed those three were gone for a bit, and was hoping they hadn't been brought backstage and told to take their costumes off again. Interacting with the Rock? ok, we'll switch seats. now, they aren't on camera any more and distracting. Don't think that will happen again, tho, guys.

One last thing: Sasha is no longer part of Team Bad, and that's a GOOD thing.

If you didn't like the Rock stuff, I am not sure what you think a rub is. Rock did more to get about six to seven people over in that twenty minute segment than HHH has done the last three years including this horrific ride to Mania. An Authority promo to open the show, how original. Honestly, why is the League of Nations a thing after tonight. They bail on Rusev, neither one of them got a title shot and they continue to get their asses handed to them by two guys. I get the Social Outcasts thing as White New Day, but this stable...no.

Sasha/Becky/Charlotte needs to be saved for Mania. AJ and Jericho looked good for a guy's first match. I know people expect a lot with AJ, so lets be a bit patient before they throw the belt on him which they won't by the way. The slow face turn by Owens is starting. The Wyatts are going to take out Brock at Fastlane or in an original move destroy everyone and leaving the main event in chaos. It would be at least interesting.

I thought they could have made better use of The Rock than having him just hang out. Shouldn't he be addressing HHH since the last two times he's been on TV, that's who he's been paired with? Especially the night after he won the title? I guess it's okay with everyone.

Liked AJ/Jericho for what it was. Wondering why they're constantly teasing the Styles Clash and not having him hit it. Is he going to hit it on Brock Lesnar or something?

I wish they did more to set up the triple threat at Fast Lane. Use Roman's return match clause, combined with some lawyering from Heyman, and then add Dean because he was the last guy in the Rumble match. Oh, wait. That makes it too much about the guys in the match and not enough about the Authority.

EDIT: I think, if they really want to emulate the Attitude Era, they need to understand that heels need to get their asses kicked after a coup and not have the faces letting the heels talk shit for three hours. Survivor Series 1998 didn't end with The Rock celebrating with the belt and everyone being okay with it. It ended with Austin coming in, stunnering everyone, and his music hitting with The Rock running to the back. That's how it's done.

Some good times here:

I hate rap music, but I really enjoyed "Bo Rida" vs Flo Rida. The only thing I know about Flo Rida is that he ruined a classic 80s song for me (the kids know only his version, not the Dead Or Alive version).

The Rock was there, as amazing as he always is.

AJ Styles vs Jericho was loads of fun.

That was a super effective PSA for showing the dangers of taking your pre-workout, post-workout. I haven't seen an eye-opening performance like that since Jessie Spano had her meltdown.

Jericho should pump the brakes on his lifestyle. I agree with everyone who said he looked rough, and has looked rough since his return. If he's not careful, he's gonna look like Flair in another 5-10 years. That's not a good look for anyone. The match with Styles was strange. I'll give it a pass because it was Styles' first WWE match, Jericho worked a long Rumble the night before, and Jericho probably got hammered after. All that being said, it looked like Jericho was wearing a 50lb body suit and a breath restriction mask; he was running in sand and Styles had to adjust. None of that makes me any less excited about the buffet of awesome potential opponents for Styles in the future.

Bo Dallas fucking torched Flo Rida. Not that Flo Rida is any sort of wordsmith, but Jesus Christ Bo murdered him.

New Day also owned The Rock. Rock knew it too and at least had the humility to smile as it was happening. Llama Penis is an infinitely better chant than Rooty Tooty Booty and took markedly less effort to get going. That was a great segment that ended in the wet fart of The Usos. I've decided that the more I see of them, the less I enjoy the members of Rock's family. He can come out every week and I'll be fine; just leave Uso I, Uso II, Reigns, and Nia off of my television for a bit. I need a break from Samoa.

I will never understand the need to make Lana a whore. I guess that all women are either whores or bitches in the mind of VKM, without exception. Fascinating.

If that interaction with the cosplayers was indeed off script, I would love to hear what was being said in the headsets while it was happening. Rock handled that with ease and expertise. Well done.

The women again have been given more character and story progression than the men, and because it's genuinely good, genuinely compelling, and Becky and Sasha are involved I love it more than anything else they're putting out. Whoever is in charge of that storyline needs a raise and a promotion once it's over. Top work by all involved, including Charlotte who I'm not the biggest fan of.

The end made no sense based on the beginning. But why should this week be any different?

Despite the tone of this post, I enjoyed this episode quite a bit.

About the Styles Clash teases, WWE might be debating whether or not it's a piledriver and therefore banned. At the moment, I think the only wrestlers allowed to do piledrivers are Undertaker and Kane, and only on special occasions at that.

Styles really is kinda short for a WWE wrestler, isn't he? There wouldn't be too many guys on the roster he could safely hoist and flip with confidence that the subject's head would clear the mat. People are probably assessing whether he can be trusted not to injure anyone. (I haven't followed him and have no idea if he's a safe worker, historically.)

This one apparently happened because Lana did something that the WON-types know of but can't just say. It IS clear WWE has completely soured on her, to the point where I'm surprised she's not just been sent home for a year.

He's not much shorter than Jericho, but Jericho wears lifts to look taller (and taller than Styles last night.) He was able to do the move to bigger people in NJPW.

He's considered a safe worker, but there have been injuries on the Styles Clash in the last couple years (including ex-WWE wrestler Yoshi Tatsu, who's been out for a year and counting.) It's really more about the people taking the move taking it correctly - laying flat, instead of tucking in like a powerbomb - and he has limited control of that.

I guess that probably explains the massive de-push for Rusev, too? That's a damn shame, because I think the two of them are some of the most entertaining people in the whole company (well, when they're booked right).

The collapse of the entire League of Nations is surprising. Since they formed, they lost the world and US belts. If the original plan indeed was to include Owens (who was home sick that night), they would have lost all three singles belts since December.

Conspiracy theorists could claim it allows Hunter and Steph alone to stand as the top heels with Rusev, Sheamus, Barrett, and Del Rio getting buried so quickly. I think instead it's those guys returning to where they were before Rollins got hurt.

Seeing AJ in the WWE is WEIRD.

Sheamus: Obviously did not light the world on fire as champion.

Del Rio: proven they have no idea how to handle him.

Barett: Gets injured sneezing.

Rusev: WON-type things.

I agree that Jericho looked like he was in rough shape. Perhaps he is too busy being a rockstar to be a rockstar.

For the second night (well morning here in the UK) in a row I enjoyed it. Not saying it all makes sense but maybe I am just used to that so put up with it.

Rock was enjoyable but lasted a little long. New Day must have been over the moon when they found out they were going out there for so long with him. Shame about the Usos but at least that was at the end and didn't take up much time.

Styles had a good match and has left him an opportunity to look better. Not sure a Jericho feud is the ideal route to go as he will no doubt be off again soon but as long as the matches are good that will be fine.

The main downside is the fact they have a show for people to prove themselves. In theory that is fine and should lead to good matches. The end result is someone who wasn't there in the triple threat for the main event at Mania. Why? If he had destroyed everyone at the Rumble and Heyman came out saying why he should be then that would work, but neither of those happened. As others have said Brock will dominate until Bray comes out leaving Roman to pin his best friend again. That doesn't create the ideal Mania in my eyes. Maybe things will change and I certainly hope so.

My sister has a photo of her and AJ standing back-to-back. She's 5'6" and AJ isn't much more than an inch taller than her. He's definitely a few inches shorter than Jericho, even without lifts.

The League of Nations isn't meant to be anything. There is no long term plan or reason for them to even be existing. They're just there to serve as a McMahon goon squad. The fact that they are using top of the card guys is a total waste if they are going to be this directionless and ineffective. They could be just using Mark Henry, Sandow and Mideon and it wouldn't make a bit of difference in the lazy story they are telling.

When Chris Jericho got pinned by Chyna whe she was the I.C Champ. I was so disgusted at that match. Jericho was fairly new to the WWF at the time and should have been builded up. He shouldn't of had to job to that wo/man.
