I thought she looked disturbingly like a WCW-era Chris Jericho.

That really doesn't fit the character of a maniacal monster. Kane went out and scouted some actors, then arranged a film shoot? Kane: "C'mon guys, I'm not feeling the fear. I just beat the ever loving crap out of Shane McMahon, and you guys aren't giving me enough emotion. C'mon, visualize. Let's take it from the top, then we'll break for lunch. We've got a lunch meat spread, with assorted fruit for desert. Aaaaand, action!"

Why are you trying to logically explain an angle that's included a fat man set on fire, a man thrown to his fiery death, a man falling 30 feet to his death, a man in tights attacking a man in a hospital, an automobile accident and whatever other logic defying horseshit they've done?

(: I'm getting a huge kick out of the mental image of Kane wearing a beret, shouting into one of those absurdly huge old-style megaphones, and then chokeslamming some poor grip. But I digress...

They've been pulling away from Kane as the uncontrollable beast, lately, in favor of a more sociopathic madman sort of thing. I don't think it'd be too far out of character to believe that he'd try to mess with Shane's head with a bit of video work. That's assuming, of course, that it's all Kane, with no input at all from Bischoff or anyone else.

Ha - that is SO great! And I picture Kane wearing a grey sportscoat, with the towell on his head, sitting in a canvas director's chair with "Kane" in white letters on the back. Oh, and he's got a megaphone and riding crop.

Interpreting Kane's segment as being a pre-recorded, edited backstage segment doesn't make any sense. Kane hiring actors, writing up a script and adding in magic dream transition effects isn't logical, realistic or internally consistent at all. That's clearly not what happened.

The segment did make sense and was built on logic, though. It's fairly simple, and OlFuzzyBastard touched on it above: Kane has the magic ability to project his thoughts and dreams into the minds of others. Duh. It's not the first time we've seen him do it - back in June, he projected his thoughts into everybody's minds when he was faced with losing his mask. He never really used it in the past because he was really into his power to fire lightning from his hands and control fire back then, because that's pretty cool, you know? But he's matured since losing the mask and now he sees the artistic value of his dreamwalking ability. And his superhuman healing factor, too, I guess. He still can't fly, though, only his brother can do that.

Beyond forgetting part of their backstory, the whole way Austin approached HBK felt kinda weird. I guess the idea was that Austin doesn't have total faith in the rest of his team (all of them having lost earlier in the night due to chicanery, the kind Bischoff will no doubt employ), so he felt like he needed a ringer. But they didn't really try to explain that enough to help out Austin deciding to play it sort of humble, especially when he acted like himself by getting in Goldberg's face later, which would make sense if he was only being contrite to HBK to make sure he had that ringer on his team.

After HBK moonwalked back into the shot when the crowd booed him for blowing Austin off, he should have said "...and by the way, I'll do it!" (crowd cheer, HBK leaves...then moonwalks back in) "...and by it, I mean not be on your team!" (crowd boos, HBK leaves...and moonwalks back in again) "No, seriously, I'm just ribbin' ya, Steve. Yeah, I'll be on the team." And then Austin could have given him a Stunner and asked if anybody had Savio Vega's number.

Am I crazy for kinda getting into Mark Henry as the World's Strongest Mid-Card Heel Who Can Never Win? I thought the Henry vs. Goldberg match from a few weeks ago was the best possible Henry vs. Goldberg match they could have had, and Henry vs. Michaels wasn't bad, though it could have used a few more minutes of Henry throwing HBK around, and maybe a crazy HBK moonsault or something. But still, considering the natural limitations he faces by the very fact that he's Mark Henry, he's had some entertaining moments of late, from throwing Goldberg through the door, the Goldberg/Henry match, the dead drop he did after taking Goldberg's chair on Raw...plus, he kinda looks like a Predator, which is neat.

Jindrak successfully performed the "I want the belt!" pantomime, instantly raising his status. That's valuable Power Plant training coming back to pay off big time.

Sexay was released after being caught with drugs on the Canadian border and the last I heard, he was in NWA:TNA. Not sure if he still is. And The Worm may be lame, but I am going to mark out when I see it again.
