Good show, I thought. Pumped for Money in the Bank. Right now I'm leaning towards Roman Reigns or Bray Wyatt as ladder-match favorites, with Cesaro and Sheamus as dark-horse candidates. Del Rio is extremely unlikely IMHO-- odd given that he normally has a mega-push when he's in the world title picture. If they give it to Cena or Orton, I might honestly throw up.

But back to RAW:

"DASCOOL!":

The Battle Royal was fantastic. I dug Bo Dallas hanging around, Roman Reigns beating some fools, and the matchup we ALL wanted to see: Reigns v. Rusev. (I do have a small complaint about that match which will go in the appropriate section.)

The opening matches involving Rollins and Ambrose were great. I can't wait to see them battle at the PPV.

Dug everything with Adam Rose, especially the synchronized Nestea Plunge.

Stardust! Holy cow that was weird. Hey, wasn't Cody mocking Dustin for the Goldust gimmick back in December '11?

"YOU SUCK!":

C'mon man, you honestly have Kofi eliminated during a commercial break? KOFI, of all people, the guy who keeps finding new creative ways to stay alive in battle royals?

The Cena/Kane stretcher match was boring and predictable, and contained precious little logical strategy. In all sincerity, I expect better from Cena, who duct-taped Batista to a ringpost and smashed Wyatt through a box, placed another box on top, and stood atop both boxes, to win Last Man Standing matches.

Why in the bloody Hell would you not simply grab a stretcher, roll it empty all the way up the ramp, fight with Kane, and very briefly place him upon the stretcher to win the match? "But ekedolphin, that would be cheating!" Cena plays with the rules all the time in these matches.

"WHAT?!":

I dug the face turn by Slater, but honestly, couldn't he have lasted just a LITTLE bit longer? This could've been a Taka Michinoku v. Triple H moment for him; even a 5-minute desperate everything-but-the-kitchen-sink match could've done wonders. Else why not use an established face in that scenario?

The first half of the show was worthless: long DQ, long COR, long DQ - why even book these matches? At least the squashes (Rusev, Stardust) end up way more entertaining by comparison.

Hey how about all that vomit humor, HUH? HUH? I guess that must have been to help make Kevin Hart appear funny.

Hey WWE...fuck your App.

Only watched the last hour or so, the Battle Royale was pretty sweet, especially when it came down to Rusev and Reigns. I'll give Rusev credit for doing a good job on the drama of his first loss ... wobbling on the edge of the ring, giving one last effort, and then falling to the Superman Punch.

I did catch a little bit of the awful vomit "humor" ... I'd say that I absolutely loathe the PG Era for crap like this, and I do, but I have to remember that there was a wrestler in the Attitude Era who was hired pretty much because he could puke on command ...

The Divas match was pretty decent, though I really don't get why the Divas still don't respect Paige. She's pretty much kicked everyone's ass who dared step to her, and that submission finisher, while badly named, seems all but unbeatable. The only way I could think of to escape is to hold on and either wiggle frantically with whatever leverage you can get in the hopes that she drops you (on your face), or try and outlast her upper body strength. Even then, your legs are locked into a painful hold and she can just lock it back in or torture you some other way.

The Divas match was actually better than Cena vs Kane, which suffered from chronic Cena. Nobody really expected Kane to win, despite the fact that a homicidal and possibly supernatural 'demon' would be the odds-on favorite if anyone actually believed they were fighting. Because, well, Cena sucks. I'm going to be most irritated if we end up with another boring reign of Cena as champ.

The match as a whole was pretty awful as well; Cena really called it in, and ended up fighting back from interference by Orton AND Ambrose to still win. Not as shameful as no-selling a DDT to the concrete floor, but still an example of why Cena is booked to be way too OP.

So the field is ... Orton, Wyatt, Cesaro, Cena (ugh), Shaemus and Reigns, with the 7th slot to be determined. It seems a bit early for Reigns or Reigns to be holding the Title, and Shaemus is already a champ, so that leaves Wyatt, Orton, Cena or the 7th. I don't really want another reign by either Orton OR Cena ... I'd love to see Bray pick up the title, even if it's just as a transitional champ until Bryan can return and reclaim the belts. But, this being WWE and all, we'll probably see a two-year Cena reign. Because Cena.

I think the Usos are going down, but the ladder match has several strong candidates.

And a lot may ride on how and when MY CLIENT BROCK LESNAR, WHO DEFEATED THE UNDERTAKER'S STREAK AT WRESTLEMANIA returns. When Brock returns, it's almost certain he'll get (and deserves) a title match.

If Brock's title match is at SummerSlam, that seems to imply a face is going over at MITB. That leaves Cena (bleh), Sheamus (which doesn't scream "SummerSlam main event" to me, or... Roman Reigns. OOOOOOOH. Reigns v. Lesnar would get "THIS IS AWESOME!" chants during the staredown.

If Brock's return isn't until later... say, Survivor Series or so... perhaps they go with a "heel wins the belt; Bryan returns to try and get it back" angle.

I just really, really hope they don't give it to Cena or Orton. Honestly, I've suspected for awhile now that WWE has been giving Cena all these title reigns just so he can break Flair's record. (He still has a ways to go to beat Lawler

This was a real show killer for me. I guess this should be expected when you release a bunch of jobbers. Chicken shit booking reeks of no plan and oh crap how so we fill three hours and not hurt anybody. (Make it two)

Boy, they really stacked the deck against ole Cena this week. Didn't think he would overcome those odds.

Cena throwing the stairs is the new Alicia Fox going crazy.

PUKE on Vickie, next week bukakee on J.R.

I did like Stardust, Ambrose fighting in street clothes and will always be a sucker for big guys colliding in Battle Royals.

They will probably pull off another solid PPV despite their total lack of storytelling which is easier to forgive now that I watch the PPVs.

Kids, if you want to know what Raw was like 14 years ago, you just saw it with another HHH/Steph opening promo of boredom. Honest to God, will someone need this storyline. I think Cena will find the belt on him prior to SummerSlam to face Brock.

Slater should have won. We'll look back at this ten years from now as the biggest mistake in company history. I know, they have a plan to build Rusev up as undefeated until he finally loses to Cena or maaaaaaybe Sheamus, but everybody knows that's what they're doing. They should have called an audible last night and had the Ameican Rock Band pull out a surprise win over Rusev. The crowd would have bought it, losing now and having to move into competitive matches instead of doing the same thing every week would have done wonders for Rusev, and Lana leading a charge against decadent American rock stars (shows picture of Mike Reno from Loverboy from 33 years ago on the Titantron) leading to Lana/Rusev-led ban on dancing and rock music that would be challenged by a coalition of Heath Slater, Adam Rose and R-Truth testifying before the Board of Directors* would have saved the company's midcard.

But seriously, you put Slater over there.

Cody Rhodes is pretty amazing. He looked simultaneously terrifying and like he was having the time of his life. He changed pretty much every mannerism and changed up his moveset. He makes the Stardust reference that we've been waiting for all this time. He does a Diamond Dust to finish. He comes up with the Bad News Barrett gimmick. Basically, Cody Rhodes should be running the show and I now choose to believe HE was secretly responsible for all those good things that have managed to sneak on TV over the last few years.

So, Rollins and Reigns keep the Shield gear and Ambrose dumps it, but Rollins is the one who leaves the Shield and not Ambrose? Huh.

I like Reigns in MITB win or lose because he's so good in special event/multi-man gimmick matches. Still not fully sold on him as a singles guy (I kinda want to see him brawl with Sheamus a few times, which should show if he's got it), but in any match where there are four or more other guys for him to destroy and a prop like a ladder, he's going to look awesome. He just needs to take better care of selling the set-up for the Superman Punch. Don't water down the moneymaker, big man.

Vomit.

Once The Authority shut up, the show clicked. Rollins beats Ziggler, which brings out Ambrose, which brings out Barrett, and that match ends when Rollins distracts Ambrose. Cena is attacked during HIS match by Rollins and Orton, and Ambrose comes back out to get Seth. Nicely done.

Cena is the Ringer Who Will fail at the PPV.

Fandango treads water. He's done nothing since beating Jericho at Mania. Enough is enough, and it's time for a change.

Cody is a showman. God love him.

I'd love to see some new blood get the World Title but I do think the winner of the MitB is going to be fed to Lesnar. As cool as Lesnar vs. Reigns would be I don't think a brief title run like that would do Reigns any favors. Same for Cesaro and Wyatt. Give them the title when they can actually have a good run with it. With Lesnar returning and Daniel Bryan returning eventually, it might not be a good time until Wrestlemania rolls around again. Especially when it comes to Reigns because he's the type of guy that the WWE loves to have win the Royal Rumble.

I
HATE
BRER
RABBIT
BABYFACES.

Roman Reigns, who got over being an intense wrecking ball, doing John Cena "ain't I real rascal? ;)" plotlines was a disheartening vision of the not so distant future. Reigns isn't just taking over for Cena, he's actually going to be John Cena, because that is was a top babyface is. The vomit spot, which I give 10/10 announcer chortles, really put it over the top. Keep in mind that this is the company who made Brock Lesnar into Bob Backlund before they turned him back heel. More "personality-broadening" stuff like that and the Shield is going to be considered Reigns' pre-backlash thuganomics era.

On a serious predic, if Lesnar's title shot storyline is happening this summer, then I prophesy that the WM31 main event is Cena dropping the championship to Reigns (from RR runner-up to winner) in a recreation of Hogan/Warrior.

John Cena and the demon Kane worked hard, but seeing John Cena and the demon Kane main eventing Raw, two years after their Embrace The Hate feud seemed anachronistic, was hard to take.

They've put zero flyers in the ladder match, so they'll need a hell of a creative match layout, which I'm sure they'll get. How many different feats of strength spots do they have to divvy up?

It seems like the same argument about how Triple H should be in charge of everything because NXT is so good should apply to Cody Rhodes w/r/t the JBL and Cole Show.

I about died when Cole alluded to Wade Barrett pulling Bo Dallas out of the 2013 Royal Rumble. That Bo was of a Michael McGillicutty, Husky Harris-esque different lifetime, but I wonder if the novelization of the Dallas character traces all of his Boliefs back to that pivotal moment.

Most important story from Raw. So Summer Rae really did call Layla a "catty little twat" on Main Event? It wasn't just a subliminal aural trick of omission from the bleep? On the Raw replay she called her a "catty little [cat]," looped in from the "catty." I mean. Why. How. How come. What!!!

Great show, but after all was said and done the only thing me and my brother could talk about was how zany it was that being tossed from the ring seemed to kill Randy Orton AND Seth Rollins.

Ambrose is awesome. The guy is a bucket of ring psychology.

I missed how poisoning the Authority got Roman Reigns into the Battle Royale, but when I heard the explaination, I still couldn't reconcile that Roman Reigns poisoned his bosses to get into the Battle Royale. I wish Kevin Hart had said something about that.

I went through a roller coaster ride of emotions during that whole segment. Started with being upset at Wade and Bo teaming up to twice over ecstatic that Wade turned on a dime and dropped Bo (due to it keeping Wade as at least potentially tweener and because it seemed to be Barrett acknowledging the history) to scoffing at how they'd never actually MENTION that history to on the edge of my seat as either Cole or Lawler mumbled about that history to shocked when Cole just came out and mentioned it outright. Did someone tell him to bring it up, or did Cole go rogue there? I NEED TO KNOW.

Roman Reigns just carrying around pranking supplies in his Rob Liefeld Pouches is indeed a troubling sign for his future. Reigns should be a no-nonsense dispenser of ass-kicking against any and all comers who only shows emotion when pushed to COMPLETE DESTRUCTION mode (such as blood feuds or "bring 'em the building" moments like the face-off with Rusev) or when hitting on Renee Young, because, c'mon.

One good sign: amidst the massive problem of recycled, threecycled and even more super stale match-ups, the hint of neat, new pairings like Barrett/Ambrose, Reigns/Rusev and, of all things, Bo/RVD, were accidentally showcased last night. It could be so much better with barely any effort, Vince. It really could.

I liked the show more than the past several Raws. Yes, the finishes in the first hour weren't satisfying, but everything that happened seemed to tie together, which was nice for a change. Plus, the first three matches were all really good, aside from the wonky endings.

I would think Kurt Angle would be a great payoff for the Rusev storyline, but I also don't think there's any way that's going to happen.

The Battle Royal itself was just okay, but the ending was hot and I didn't see that heat coming. Good for both guys.

I'm not sure why Cameron was playing heel against Paige. Did I miss a turn on Main Event (or Total Divas)?

A little surprised at the almost universal praise of the Stardust gimmick. I liked it too, but it was something I thought wouldn't be up some people's alley.

I don't know what was worse: John Cena vs. Kane or the puking.
