The highlight besides The Match We'll Pretend Was The Wrestlemania Main Event (which will fit nicely on the card with Shield vs. Wyatts) was Randy Orton's Emergency Urgency Promo trying to get his whole speech out before the first CM Punk chant could start. It sounded like he'd been stuck in a Saw/12 Rounds puzzle with those orders under penalty of death.

I'm pretty sure the endgame is "I can't have that? Then I'm taking this" with Undertaker's streak. But in the meantime you've teased two more interesting matches than Batista/Orton.

I made it 38 minutes into Raw last night. Thank goodness you guys are ready to tell me what happened after that. Wow, I have really lost interest. But, I can now tell who are members of The Shield are the difference between them. How can you possibly make it three hours?

Tell me, who got the shout out. I must not have made it that far

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

Deputy Marshall got name checked by Road Dogg as he came to the ring for the cage match.

He's mentioned on Twitter he's got a job with WWE now (in New Media?), which is probably how it came up and why he's not around here.

Oh man, I forgot my favorite part! Batista and Del Rio were dressed so alike, they looked like a tag team breaking up:

Whew! Now Daniel Bryan never has to win the WWE Title ever again. He beat Randy Orton decisively to become Face of WWE!

I'm a little worried that too many of the tag teams they spent the last year building are breaking up at the same time. I would rather they have just focused on CodeDust or The Shield breaking up (even both of them at the same time feels weird). PTP, I guess no one cares enough about, but I find it hard to believe that Titus is the one that comes away with the big push and not John Cena's clone.

It's really, really weird that they'd announce that Brock is challenging for the title at Elimination Chamber, in Minneapolis, and then not only not have him in the title match, but not have him scheduled to appear at all. I'm sure he'll be there in some way, but why not market the hell out of it?

I hope the fans can keep up the Batista hate in the coming weeks. It's not Batista himself, it's the really shitty positioning that's directly in the way of the hottest WWE storyline. If this ends with 70,000 people shitting all over their "moment," that'll be a moment in itself.

Did they ever actually announce that Brock was going for the title at Elimination Chamber? Because I'm pretty sure the promo was "I want the title after the Rumble, and I don't need to win the Rumble to get a shot because I'm Bork Lazer". There was no specific date or match promised.

Does Brock Lesnar even have a winning record since coming back? If not, he seriously needs to shut up about wanting a title shot.

We, um, seem to have gotten out of the habit of including the date of each RAW in the thread title. Could we start doing that again, please?

Actually, Brock and Heyman did a thing (last week?) where Brock demanded a title shot at Elimination Chamber, and the Authority told him to piss off. Then he beat up the Rhodes to show how angry he was, and it hasn't been mentioned since.

Which, you know, is a far cry from announcing he was getting a hot at EC then not delivering. And there is still the very real possibility that, either the week before or on the night, Christian ends up on the wrong end of an F5 and replaced at short notice.

At some point in January, Paul Heyman declared that Brock Lesnar was above such menial tasks as "entering the Royal Rumble to earn a title shot" and that he'd be the #1 Contender for the championship after the Rumble. Everyone kind of accepted Paul Heyman's word at face value. Apparently everyone forgot that Paul Heyman is not a booker and has no capacity to actually make matches.

I commented talking to friends about the show, asking if Paul Heyman's word is really enough to make a #1 Contendership official and if so, why hadn't he done that for Curtis Axel or The Ryback. Well, as it turns out, Paul Heyman's word is not enough, and Lesnar isn't getting a title shot (yet). The whole thing would make sense, if any of the announcers would just take a moment to explain that Paul Heyman isn't the guy who gets to decide who gets title shots, no matter how persuasive (or repetitive in stating his cause) he might be.

No, there was no formal announcement on WWE.com, but it's just a weird case of blue balls to even put that idea out there, for a PPV in Brock's hometown, and then never follow through with it to the point where Brock's not even on the show.

It's like an action movie where someone unveils a really cool futuristic bazooka that shoots exploding sharks at people in the first half, and then it's never used or mentioned at all for the rest of the movie. No, no one said they were actually going to use it, or signed a contract with the audience promising that they would, but if you want to tell a good story, you at least make a big deal out of it.

I can understand why they're not doing it. Brock would have to lose the Elimination Chamber title match, and then lose again at WrestleMania, so instead they did a thing where Brock at least gets a win over Big Show going in to WrestleMania, but it's still a big tease that helps no one.

Brock totally has a winning record (4-2) and is even on a 3-match winning streak. In fact, he's due for a loss. Unfortunately, it's looking like it's going to The Undertaker at WrestleMania. He's only lost to guys who haven't really been elevated by beating him. I still am okay with the Cena loss, but we probably could have used one or two less HHH matches and one more Punk match where Punk won.

Check that -- not even *advertised* for the show. Wouldn't surprise me if he factors into the finish somehow, however. Maybe comes in and destroys everyone, letting Orton sneak a cheap pin? "If I can't have a title match, none of you other schmucks can either."

Brock royally fucking up the elimination chamber structure just to beat the shit out of three or four guys would be a pretty excellent way of setting him up for Taker.

Chekhov's Lazer?

If Lesnar does the kill-Christian-take-his-spot on the PPV, they're idiots. There's a hard limit on Lesnar PPVs, and to have him unadvertised is a waist of a PPV. Especially if they have him unadvertised AND he jobs.

So wait, what happens? SKLOKAZOID YOU HAVE TO USE THE SHARK BAZOOKA NOW COME ONNN

I shudder at the (personal) realization that the ratings dip this week will be blamed on the open/close of Daniel Bryan, as opposed to months of inept advancement, audience denial, and now top stars walking out or just generally being unhappy. Doesn't make for a fun 3 hours, which was already a trek.

For the benefit of those who watch neither NXT or Indy wrestling, I can assure you that Emma is a most excellent wrestler with years of experience. Her character is goofy and clumsy but she learned from the best in the business and has had outstanding matches everywhere she's worked. She started in Australia at Melbourne City Wrestling and went on to work PWA/PWWA with Madison Eagles, Jessie McKay, Shazza McKenzie & Kelly Skater. She came here to work several Shimmer tapings and trained with Lance Storm at his school in Calgary, working for ECCW in Vancouver BC for some time before getting signed. She's pretty much automatically the one of top workers on the main roster & can wrestle circles around everyone not named AJ or Natalya when creative doesn't interfere with the booking of her matches. If Paige Bayley Sasha & Becky all get called up too the Divas division will once again have real ring talent going for it that it hasn't had for a few years now.

(Two to Punk and one to Big E.) He hasn't defended the belt with a clean win since pinning Poor Dolph Ziggler on October 16th on Main Event.

I find it hard to believe with 24-33 hours or so of programming a month WWE can't fit in ONE Dean Ambrose title defense in there.

I just wanted to give JBL some love for pointing out that Dean Ambrose could be the champ "for 14 years, if he never defends it." Good times.

(Spoiler Alert: Dean doesn't defend the belt on this week's Smackdown, either, so Sunday will make 105 days since Dean Ambrose's last tile defense.)

So will someone tell me if Christian really does have a fatal illness? Or is all the talk of his impending death referring to a less-permanent retirement?
