So, Batista has spent the last four years going to raves in Vegas and hanging with European dudes? That was an awful redebut.

Comment from a non wrestling fan on The Shield, "who are those guy supposed to be the Wet Hairs?". I never noticed that before, but there hair is extremely wet even by wrestling standards.

DANIAL BRYAN IS NOT GOING TO STEAL THIS SHOW.

Nice Mae Young tribute.

I think I'm done with Rey Rey.

Skipped the ending, read it was whacky. I usually love the Rumble, but I'm not feeling it this year.

Not sure if it's supposed to be a red herring or what, but they made it seem like Daniel Bryan was NOT going to be in the Royal Rumble with that "Well, the other two guys are in the Rumble, so that leaves Bray Wyatt free to have a one on one with me." By that logic, one might conclude that Bryan is not in the rumble either.

On one hand, you'd have to think Bryan is in the Rumble. But at the same time, I don't think he's been cleared after last week's concussion.

PWI is saying he is, but then some newz sites are saying he is cleared but they cleared him too early while commenters on said newz sites say that the whole thing was a ruse.

Doesn't matter. What we learned (confirmed) tonight is that Daniel Bryan >> Dave Bautista. And Justin Shapiro's sworn and solemn responsibility is to lead and pace the Daniel Bryan chants throughout the Rumble match, whether Bryan is in it or not. If he is not, or if he is and gets eliminated, Pittsburgh is to keep the fight alive.

Was Daniel Bryan's concussion as bad or worse than Triple H's broken arm from Lesnar?

This was a really shitty RAW. iMPACT was better than this. How can a PPV go home show be this boring?

Batista's acting got worse after doing movies, it's amazing. I am unhyped and hope this is a very short visit by The Animal. I think people forgot he was there by the time Bryan and Bray had their segment.

I really enjoyed the Wyatt Family v. Uso tag match seeing as the Usos did more brawling than they usually do. There was a part where umm... Jey(?) was trading punches with his opponent while smiling after each hit. Seems they channeled some Wild Samoan aggression tonight.

It's easy to forget that they're Rikishi's sons and it's easier to forget that Rikishi was part of the very good SST managed by Paul Heyman. They have a built in heel turn as Heyman Guys if they ever need it.

Maybe it's just me, but did anyone else get a 'last hurrah' vibe during that celebratory closing segment with Cena?

Quite poignant when looked at from that perspective, really.

Unlike a lot of the 2nd and 3rd generation guys they've tried to bring up - Ted DiBiase, I'm looking at you - the Usos have really grown into their legacy as the current representatives of the Samoan wrestling family (I know Roman Reigns is also a member, but he's not really playing that up). They've got a real nice mix of classic Wild Samoan/Headshrinker moves and new stuff, and they've gotten really good in the ring. I was not sold on them at all when they debuted a few years ago, but I've totally come around on them.

HHH and Steph again need to pick a side for the 100th time. If its up to Pittsburgh to save Bryan then he is done. I like Pittsburgh, but its a bit of sitting on their hands audience. Wrestlemania XXX is looking like a giant ad for Guardians of the Galaxy.

If he wasn't cleared, how could he fight Bray at the PPV?

I agree, that promo had me concerned that they are keeping him out of the Rumble. That and the opening Orton bit where they seemed to imply that the pecking order was Cena - Lesnar - Batista. WTF, why not Bryan?

The superman punch is the rare MMA move that's more credible in wrestling. Once again, the Shield match had a hot ending. Goldust's senton off the apron is just bonkers for a guy in in his 24th year of wrestling. Langston is gaining some nice audience traction.

The ending felt it was right out of mid-'80s NWA. I think it would have worked better with a different vehicle. What happened to all the limos?

Lawler complaining about the lack of wrestling during the Wyatt/Uso match made him sound like an cranky old man. I like the Uso's new satin tights over their In Your House cargo pants.

Moving Bryan's entrance to the app might be a way to spike app use, but why minimize the audience for your white-hot face?

And why does AJ now care about what the other diva think? (Because they have nothing else for her to do.) Yeah, but we don't need another diva reduced to prolonged screaming fits in lieu of acting. Save that shit for Vickie.

Sad but true, but RAW didn't have nearly as much boring talk as Genesis/Impact did on Thursday.

I think I fastforwarded through most of the show.

Is it my imagination, or did Batista's spinebuster look off? Normally it lands on the actual back, but it hit on ADR's side instead.

I was kinda hoping for Batista to make a heel debut by attacking Rey after the match.

For interests' sake, the gent that Batista hugged after the segment was Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire (wikipedia) who's the second best boxer in the Philippines.

He picked up Del Rio awkwardly, throwing off the whole move. (Could have been Del Rio positioning himself wrong, too.)

Pardon my ignorance, but when did the Batista Bomb stop being a sit-out powerbomb?

The skinny jeans made Dave look extra weird. It was like a Create-a-Wrestler version of Batista.

I remember reading somewhere that Batista is sticking around for a bit, so get used to him at least being around.

I hope all of this Batista/Orton/Rumble setup is being done as a huge misdirect and that they're really planning on Bryan or CM Punk winning the match. Batista's cool and all, even if his return was underwhelming, but this is also a guy who back in the day, Vince/HHH knew was going to be #2 to Cena when they tried to make him #1.

And besides all that, Batista is usually better as a heel. I'd rather see Batista used as the monster "last guy eliminated in the Rumble match" to get the winner over.

One thing that is cool, though, is that Batista and Lesnar are both making the WWE World Title feel very important by coming in and challenging for it. I think that's working. My guess is that this is all setting up the Elimination Chamber match and that Orton isn't just defending against Lesnar, but also Big Show, Batista, Cena, and some other guy.

I think that bit with Cena at the end was more the "Hey, he's losing at the PPV, so enjoy it while it lasts!" bit.

And yeah, the Usos are mega over and great. I have a soft spot for anyone who wears facepaint. They definitely should be the wearing the tag belts at or around WrestleMania time.

A create-a-wrestler of Batista where they used all the layers on his tattoos and didn't have any left over for hair, eyebrows, attire or facial features.

The only Batista I would have wanted back - and the only one that would have made this angle make sense/worth it - would have been Heel Batista, who HHH brings back to be his New Corporate Champ specifically because Orton isn't evil or a big enough asshole for his liking, and the only person who is worse than Orton is HHH But Also Batista.

A scenario where that Batista comes back and Orton tries for the handshake, only to get the thumbs-down from HHH (to echo both Evolution turning on Orton and Dave turning on HHH) and eat a Modified Skinny Jean Batista Bomb would have been fine. Send that Batista into the Rumble with protection from the Outlaws and Kane as The Authority's handpicked winner who Punk or Bryan have to overcome. Meanwhile, a paranoid Orton has to fend off Cena, worry about Batista and worry about rogue free agent My Client Brock Lesnar, causing Orton to finally snap and revert into anti-everyone, headkicking Randy Orton.

Re: Bryan and the Rumble, I don't know what they intended or if they'll change their mind, but everything about the Bryan-Wyatt segment certainly implied that Bryan won't be in the Rumble (why else specifically mention that Harper and Rowan ARE in?), which is insane.

We know there are 20 names officially entered, and I feel fairly safe in assuming that the remaining ten spots will include both Usos, Ryback, Axel and Kane...so are there five people who are locks that would keep Bryan out? Cesaro, Swagger and Sin Cara are all unaccounted for, Christian is still alive and Barrett will presumably one day wrestle on TV again.

If the Authority stuff at the top (trying to replace Randy with returning hero Batista) wasn't conflicting with everything else (Outlaws turning on Punk, Kane being evil except when he secretly wasn't evil last week?), there could probably be a neat Rumble angle of The Authority trying to gift-wrap the Rumble to an unwilling Punk to forcibly remake him as their Corporate Champion.

Back to Raw itself, the Disaster Kick being countered by the Superman Punch was one of those amazing spots I'm surprised they gave away on a title match. If Reigns is learning from Cody and Rollins how to fit his big moves into moments like that, I'm excited to see where he ends up when his number is called.

Glad to see the Usos continuing to shine. It didn't happen this week, but last week they got two short but pretty great out-of-ring segments (the first person interview and that promo with their faces split down the middle), so I'm hoping someone in production has taken them on as a project to give them a chance to fully break out.

Batista looked like the bastard child of Pitbull and Robert Irvine. The skinny jeans was not a great choice.

Cena RISING ABOVE TEMPERATURE at the end there (and Orton too, but the commentators talked only about Cena) was oddly interesting.

The whole Big Show - Brock Lesnar feud reminds me of something back in the eighties. I mean, Big Show's tossed Brock across the ring once and out of the ring once. That's pretty lame on a show where people smack each other with chairs and put each other through tables on a regular basis. Combine that with Big Show's reasoning of "I just don't like him," gives the interaction a very old-school feel.

I really really want to believe that the implication that there's no Bryan in the Rumble is just a red herring.

Are the Authority trying to turn themselves face?
