I was hoping for more out of the Bad New Barret gimmick. Atleast he is making it work. They rehash so many other gimmicks why couldn't this be a rehash of Sean O'Haire's I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know.

I like "The Machine" that Bray mentioned. Sounds like "The Big Red Machine". Who is Kane. Who was attacked, and brain-washed by the Wyatt's. Who is now in the McMahon-Hemsley era corporation. Who might be a mole? Bray couldn't of planned all of this from the beginning right?

I've never understood why they let this spot slide.

I have also been conditioned to not expect anything big to happen during Christmas and New Year's Raws and yet I missed something that was a pretty big deal. I wonder why they picked this show to do something like this, or is it obvious that a lot of people will miss it so they can form it how they like in clip packages down the road.

I couldn't WAIT to see her reaction to all that happening, which was going to happen last night.

    (...snip...)

OTOH...Daniel Bryan. Three weeks ago we were in the crowd at the KeyArena screaming "YES!" IJ bought a "YES!" towel at the show. She just got a Daniel Bryan action figure for Christmas the other day. And let me stress that she spent the first two months legitimately freaked out by everything about the Wyatts. Like "clutch-my-arm-when-the-lights-go-out"-freaked out. So Daniel Bryan joins the Wyatts and they are all walking up the ramp and I hear...

"I guess maybe I'll have to start liking the Wyatts now."

Wait, what? YOU'RE GOING TO LIKE THE WYATTS NOW? *head spins*

RAW Reactions from my 9.5 and 8-year old girls:

Brock:
We had been playing the game of 'Who would win' a couple of weeks ago, and one of our proposals was Brock vs. Mark Henry. That went about the way they all thought it would. They also made me rewind the Brock 'caw' about three times and were rolling with laughter each time.

Damien Sandow: Glad he won.

Bad News Barret: I will echo the love for the reincarnation of Andy Kaufman's talk show desk.

Daniel Wyatt:
(I'm prefacing this with the fact that Luke Harper is my 8-year old's favorite wrestler, and she wants the life-size cutout of him for her room. When the Wyatt Family enters, she pretends she entering the room, carrying a lantern. This is totally adorable.)

I told the girls that they needed to watch this as they wouldn't believe what happened. My 9.5 year old proceeded to spend the ENTIRE MATCH asking me after EVERY MOVE, "Was that it?" When it happened, I looked over and her jaw was hitting the couch. The younger one had her hands over her mouth, when she burst forth, "FINALLY! Whoo-hoooo!!!"

They continue to be invested. I'm curious how this will play out, and I take solace and slight optimism in the fact that Daniel continues to main event shows.

This is the greatest thing ever.

Also, upon reflection IJ has decided she is unhappy with these developments and Daniel Bryan (the action figure) has been kicked off the shelf and relegated to the Floor of Shameâ„¢.

Finally got around to watching the big closing angle and thought:

-It was magnificently performed by all involved.
-It was a logical direction for the overall Daniel Bryan story.
-It added depth to both the Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan characters.
-It left me very curious about what happens next.

A win all around, I'd say.

If it turns into a good story, then cool. However, WWE has exhausted a lot of good will in the past and I'm extremely skeptical. It's easy to feel like they're sabotaging Bryan for overshadowing their golden boy Cena.

Bryan "gave up". Cena is Mr. "Never Give Up Never Surrender". I imagine that will come up if the rumored Cena-Wyatt WrestleMania match comes about.

Oh well. I'm not the target audience.

For some reason, the auto tracking on my VCR turned off the sound. A minor complaint. EMLL doesn't run Arena Mexico in late December after the year-end show or in the early part of the year, so everything is from Coliseo.
