Good thing Henry won and saved Xmas, it would've been a real pain in the ass to return all these presents on the 24th.
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." --- Bart Giamatti, on baseball
I skipped out on wrestling from 2002 through 2009. All I know of Batista was a few months in 2009 as a boring face with a horrible inked up roid monster look and then those two or three awesome months of Kanye Batista. If he doesn't come back as that guy, is there anything to be excited about? Especially if he comes in and knocks other guys down the card a bit? Can you link me to good Batista matches or promos from before that great 2010 heel run?
You know, I'm almost always happier with pre-taped RAWs than I am with the live ones. The extra time to edit the show is a real benefit. Last night, almost everything that happened felt like there was something to it. It was maybe the most tightly booked show of the year, and for once it didn't feel like a two-hour RAW with another hour of filler.
All that footage is from before he left the company. He shed a lot of that mass to try his hand at MMA. He has some time to put it back on, or he may enjoy have greater mobility.

It was a solid Raw. Highlight was probably John Cena doing a great Hogan promo. He even paced around the interview area and called Cm Punk 'punkster' As opposite as they are, Cena and Punk make for a good team.
The promo for Batista was well done. I hope he has a good run, I always liked him.
The divas match was a total disaster. Starting with Cole calling the blonde 'Rosa' and AJ correcting him. I'm sure she had to bite her tongue to not rip him a new one at that point. Then the part where all the 'total divas' skipped through the ring in a circle. I could hear the crowd starting to boo. Ouch.
And as repetitive as it's starting to sound, Goldust keeps surprising me with his wrestling. Wow. Diving through and off the ring, fresh moves, etc etc. Awesome.
Kofi seriously need some love, a title, a push, a storyline or something. The guy has been busting his ass in the ring for years now. He does crazy flip maneuvers, doesn't have any kind of negative reputation, is loved by kids. Do you think this is the highest he will get in WWE?

I think the highest, he got was with his feud with Orton and they dropped the ball with him getting jobbed out in that. Kofi would probably never be world champ material in their eyes, but he is better than a lot of people who held secondary titles while he has been there.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.

In all fairness, Kofi's held a ton of secondary championships. He's a 4 time IC champ, 3 time US champ, and a 3 time tag champ. There aren't a lot of guys on the roster who've held that many championships, and I suspect that he's got more ahead of him still.
He seems the natural successor to ReyRey, but he treads water so often. He easily bridges the quadrants represented by Santino (the goofy good guy) and Dolph (the bumping worker). And no one else tried the SOS. That's HIS move.

Kofi is the Tatanka of this generation. Kids love him, he sells merchandise and is talented enough to be in the upper midcard, but doesn't quite have the skills to sustain a main event program.
Kofi stumbled over (forgot?) his lines during an in-ring promo he was doing with Cena during the time of his Orton angle. That seems to have ended his brush with stardom. His position on the card is perfectly respectable though. No shame in being a long term midcarder.

These were hardly the norm, but by and large Batista got a lot better after Undertaker tombstoned all his confidence and timing back into him at Wrestlemania 23.
The only reason I can think of for a Tuesday October show is either Halloween or possibly being matched up against Game 7 of the World Series on Sunday. Either way, I REALLY don't like the idea.
