The best part was that they went ahead and replayed it later in the show.

Ahhh, yes, I meant to comment on that, too. That was indeed the best part.

Christ, is Orton really that terrible an improviser that he HAS to stick with the scripted response, no matter how dumb it makes him look? He's the Ron Burgundy of wrestling.

I'm SO out on this show it's not even funny. I caught the replay of the main event on Hulu, though, and that was pretty amazing. I'm convinced that poor Rey's being held together by super glue at this point and I'd have to imagine that if he's hurt again, then this is his farewell tour. I hope he still has one more Wrestlemania left in him.

In fairness to Orton, the script called for an immediate, angry reply to Triple H getting into his face. Triple H barely had time to end with "you're talking to" than Orton was launching into his face of the WWE spiel. Had they not been aiming for that instant response to Triple H trying to talk him down, he probably would have been able to improvise better, but as it was, even if he realized a few words into his response that it no longer made sense because Triple H screwed up, there wasn't much he could do to correct it.

There was more sloppiness on the show than usual, besides just the above botched line. On the Canadian broadcast at least, a still "Wyatts vs. Punk/Bryan" internal promo screen appeared for a couple of seconds before the Survivor Series promo commercial for it actually started. There were a couple of questionable camera cuts to things we shouldn't have been seeing, too. When the live shows usually air without screw-ups like that, it makes them stand out more when they happen.

Poor Kaitlyn. It's good for her that she's back on TV and all, but she winds up being shunted onto arch-nemesis AJ's team at the PPV because that's how the reality TV show battle lines are drawn.

Cranky Vince: Kaitlyn, we're putting you on the heel team for the 7-on-7 Survivor Series Divas match. We know you've been a babyface, but under our new structure, anyone that isn't on Total Divas is a heel, because they consider themselves too good for reality television.
Kaitlyn: But no one ever asked me to be on Tot...
Cranky Vince: YOU'RE A HEEL, DAMMIT!!!

Good Show!

More NXT people transitioning to the main roster, I'm all for it. Ironically a friend of mine and myself went to a TNA PPV here in Georgia when both Truth and Xavier Woods (Then known as Consequences Creed) were in the tag team Truth & Consequences with their manager being Pacman Jones. It was full circle seeing Xavier team with Truth last night.

I said it before. If you have some patience or find other things to watch or do on Monday nights then watch RAW later where you can fast forward through anything involving Big Show, Orton, and the Helmsley-McMahon you not only cut out a good 45 minutes of confusing non-sense but the show is much more exciting and streamlined.

I know people boo and jeer Vickie on tv, but secretly they love what she does. She pulls off the best chickenshit heel/vindictive authority schtik that I've seen since Vinny Mac himself. Short of pulling a chair in the ring and pretending AJ hit her with it, and doing a Frog Splash she almost went Full Eddie Guerrero on Raw Country.

That Main Event was fantastic! I can't believe that match was given away on free tv. Did Punk and Bryan do the old Hart Attack finisher?! Good luck following the two Survivor Series versions of that match Show and Orton.

JBL mentions Jeff Jarrett in a guitar joke (which nearly killed me) then almost immediately Ziggler does the Jarrett strut and boops Sandow in the head with a guitar. Ziggler sells timing just as well as he does moves in the ring.!

I liked some parts of the show too, but the whole thing seemed like an uneven, disjointed mess.

There were some entertaining parts for sure. I just don't think a strong argument can be made though that this show did anything to drive people to spend $50 on the PPV Sunday.

Something else I enjoyed about RAW. I know she's in-character, but it's kinda sweet and obviously authentic the way Stephanie smiles when she's holding Triple H's hand. Always nice to see a happily married couple on TV, even if they're the bad guys.

I think next to saying the company views Bryan as a B+ player, Orton saying HHH is the face of the WWE is probably the truest statement said on WWE television.

They will probably give each other dirty looks and argue over tags. Invasion angles make strange bedfellows.

Yeah, it wouldn't have been that hard just to sweep up the last few guys into something like

Kofi/Dolph/Big E/Truth/Woods
vs.
Miz/Sandow/Ryback/Axel/Fandango

Even as just a YouTube match it'd make the show seem more authentic and the pre-show more interesting.

It's funny that of all the networks to pick out as anti-wrestling in the late 90's/beginning 00's, NBC was the one picked.
