Is that because the Smackdown team (Colons) beat the Raw team (Miz & Morrison) in the unification? I think that means the WWF title history was wiped out by Jericho in December 2001. LONG LIVE THE WCW TITLE.
Like I keep saying, WWE Title history is weird. And, also, wrong. Wouldn't it mean more with two lineages running together (until branching together at unification), since that would mean these were also the same belts the Hart Foundation and Demolition held?
Anyway, best tag title match on RAW since Austin/HHH-Benoit/Jericho, which was apparently for completely different tag title belts. It really justifies The Shield's long-ish reign and is elevating the holy hell out of Cody and Dustin. I hope they can keep it up.
EDIT: One difference in Jericho as Undisputed Champion is that WCW as an organization ceased to exist no matter what after that match, so the match was always going to be for a WWE Undisputed World Champion no matter who won it.
Still, I view unification matches as streams all flowing into the same river. Yes, Daniel Bryan shouldn't be considered a WCW World Champion, but the WCW World Championship is still part of the WWE Title lineage since the titles were unified.
Except for whenever they want to talk about the "history of the World Title" which I guess makes Sting a former World Heavyweight Champion even though HHH was technically the first World Heavyweight Champion of official record.
I know, I harp on this way too much, but man, did that Brand Extension mess things up.

I agree 100%, but it's not too late for them to fix it.
Here's the other thing about the official title histories. It's not like they're determined by Vince McMahon and a council of wrestling historians chaired by Howard Finkel. It's just put together by some WWE.com 23-year-old who probably took most of it from Wikipedia to begin with.
What WWE basically intended to think they meant happened when the titles split was that Triple H was the #1 contender, Lesnar jumped shows and refused to defend against him, so Bischoff disputed the undisputed title, pulled the WCW/World Title out of it, and off they went. So that's why Sting and Batista and Alberto Del Rio all held the same belt.
SO IT SHOULD REALLY LOOK LIKE THIS
oh god did I really do this
you can have that one for free, History of WWE DVD cover art
Justin, yeah, you really did and should have done that because it's great.
Another thing I remember is when Vince got rid of WCW the night after Survivor Series 2001, he renamed the "WCW Title" to the "World Title" before Vengeance 2001, and is the same name it has today (or when Rey Mysterio has the belt), and incidentally the same belt. Bischoff also said that he was awarding HHH the belt because he was literally the last person to hold that belt as champion (in a way, preserving the lineage of the physical belt).
So IJ and myself had gotten all the way through to the main event until tonight, and boy, was that worth the wait. IJ was SCREAMING "take advantage! Take advantage!!" as the Shield were all down outside the ring. And she *likes* the Shield. She just likes the Rhodes boys more.
Other quick IJ thoughts:
- (when R-Truth was chilling outside the ring against Ryback) "That is hilariously smart."
- (re: Brie Bella) "Why does she scream like that after every move? She's like the Marina Sharapova (sic) of the WWE."
- "You know what I HATE? When a guy is down for MORE than three, but the ref isn't looking and then the guy gets out of it."
- (Roman Reigns puts Goldust in a chinlock) "It would be really dumb it someone tapped out to that hold right there."

Apparently at some point Golddust said his dream WrestleMania match would be against Cody. I'm not sure if there's more to it than that, but it seems to have become common knowledge that that's where this all is going eventually.
He and Cody have actually actively lobbied for it the last couple of WrestleManias, I think. Couple that with the dirtsheets saying Dustin's signed through to April and two and two becomes four.
