Hey, a lot of stuff has happened that I never would have expected to realistically happen. I'm just REALLY used to Triple H being a karma houdini who never gets true comeuppance. I spent the final segment waiting for Show to repeatedly get cut off from delivering the final shot...and when it happened, my reaction was along the lines of "...huh. Okay then."

Progression!

Really dug Big Show finally decking HHH. Cena coming back early to go after the WHC is... unexpected. I'd agree that it bodes well for Bryan that he's coming back and being kept away from the WWE title (for now). I'm starting to grow tired of the Punk/Heyman stuff and kinda wanna see Punk involved in the Authority storyline but also wanna see Punk/Lesnar II. Maybe when Lesnar comes back, it'll be as HHH's hired muscle and we can get both of those things.

And Hell in a Cell is shaping up to be pretty good...

Bryan vs Orton, WWE title, Hell in a Cell match w/ special guest referee Shawn Michaels
Cena vs ADR, WHC match
Big Show vs HHH
I have a feeling Punk's gonna run the gauntlet against Team Heyman, steamrolling past Axel, decisively beating Ryback, and then finally getting his hands on Heyman, all in a Hell in a Cell match, to finally blow off the feud (at least until Lesnar gets back)
Rhodes brothers vs The Shield, Tag Team title match (seems like they're heading that way)
Wyatt vs Miz
Ziggler vs Ambrose, US title match (I'm hoping)
AJ vs Natalya, Divas title match (I'm guessing)

It has effectively replaced the Intercontinental Championship in that regard, and the IC title has lost a lot of its prestige over the last 10 or so years (Curtis Axel ain't helpin' get it back, either). I feel like eliminating the WHC would be counterproductive, leaving us without a respected #2 belt, and although you could build the IC or US titles up, currently you don't need to do that because of the WHC.

I don't disagree in general, but I think having another world title floating around, even one that's clearly secondary, dilutes the value of the main world title. Even with no more Raw/Smackdown split, if it were still being used to headline the second touring group, then I would see its purpose, but it isn't, and sometimes it struggles to be the third biggest match on a PPV, so I think its presence is just slightly confusing at this point. Having one MITB and one destination for the Royal Rumble winner would make them more important too.

Reading further down I guess this has already all been brought up.

Until last night, the last real match Daniel Bryan lost was at Payback. In June. Four months ago. And that includes two PPV main event title matches that Orton in theory "should" have won to build heat for the chase.

I'm sick of SuperBryan being shoved down our throats.

I love the idea of Daniel Bryan: Company's Top Champion as much as the next guy, but does anyone else cringe at the idea of this company basing their title changes on how well it'll fit in the with the Bella Vanity Project?

You mean how well it'll help ratings for one of their shows, thus bringing in more money? No, I can't imagine that they'd do that.

They really need to push some NXT Divas on the main shows. The Total Divas and the Bottom DIvas are unbearable and couldn't generate crowd heat if they literally went supernova and 'sploded. Even Aj can't carry that many losers. I'm sure Emma, Paige, Bayley or Summer "Misses Fandango" Rae could reignite some interest by the crowd into Diva's matches

It's time for CM Punk to move on from the Heyman feud already. It's just not as fun with Ryback playing the part of the monster instead of Brock Lesnar. Hopefully giving R-Truth the victory by pinning Axel and Punk destroying Ryback means Heyman and his family will transition into working with Truth instead. I really want to see Punk get involved with the McMahon-Helmsley factgime again.

How are some people sick of Bryan's main event push already? It's only been going on for about 4 months. The first month involved him getting jumped by The Shield and Orton. Now he's a miniature Chuck Norris and people are complaining about it? Attention spans today man I tell you.

Chuck Norris's height: 5'-8"
Daniel Bryan's height: 5'-8"

They even have the same amount of letters in their name. That is, if you go by DB, not Danielson, at which point Chuck beats Macchio.

Wikipedia tells me that Total Divas averaged 1.37 million viewers per episode over their eight weeks. Let's say they manage to increase that to 1.6 million viewers for the next eight. How much money do you think that REALLY brings in? Is it more than zero? I am doubtful. Hey, let's ALSO say they are such brilliant bookers that while they're busy booking for the reality TV audience (who we have no indication are watching the wrestling programs, I should add), they simultaneously manage to shave off another block of tens of thousands of viewers for RAW by engaging in those kind of machinations. (10/1 RAW: 2.68 rating, 3.58 million viewers) How much more money does THAT bring in?

Not that it matters. All this speculation is MOOT now that JOHN CENA IS BACK AT HELL IN A CELL BABY

Very nice of them to let Big Show keep his entrance music and video despite being fired.

Really nice touch having Bryan adjust HHH's necktie, considering what happened with Bryan in the Nexus debut and Justin Roberts necktie.

I like Danial Bryan. I want Danial Bryan to do well.

Danial Bryan is doing well. I am tuning out.

Why is that happening? Is it something The Business is picking up on? Am I an outlier?

I didn't like the idea of Bryan's run going into full swing right around the start of football. Although I think it is more the presentation of the storylines that has gotten me down.

John Cena is back early. He might not gobble up Bryan's spot, but clearly The Business doesn't like the way something is going.

So I have something in common with them, but we probably disagree on what the problem is.

I haven't been able to watch Raw for a few weeks? Was there an explanation given as to why Cena is the #1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship? Why wouldn't he immediately want to get back the title he dropped to Daniel Bryan?

And a follow-up question to myself: Why am I expecting logic from WWE?

In the short-term, Vickie booked the match with Cena vs. Del Rio to get revenge on Del Rio for attempting to disingenuously hit on Vickie yet again. The competitors don't get any say in how they're booked. Cena might rather have a WWE Title shot, but it's not like he's in position to turn down a World Heavyweight Championship shot. Knowing Cena, he just wants to be back on TV/in the ring.

As for the bigger picture, Vince McMahon was quite clear that he didn't feel that either Cena or Bryan were ideal WWE Champions. Given that, why would Triple H, Stephanie or Vickie want to immediately plug Cena back into that title picture? His mandatory rematch clause would have expired due to his injury, they typically have a one month/one PPV time limit attached to them unless plot demands otherwise. So The Authority is hoping that Randy Orton can beat Daniel Bryan inside Hell in a Cell (possibly with Triple H's Best Friend the special guest referee playing a role in that), and that John Cena can run off and win the World Heavyweight Championship and get stuck defending that against Del Rio and Damien Sandow and Dolph Ziggler and whoever else is hanging around that title picture rather than getting in the way of their chosen Face of the WWE.

It makes sense to me, at least.

Fair points, but I still think you could probably iron out the MITB and Royal Rumble issues a different way and return the focus to the World title. Agree to disagree on this one.

So one of the WWE sponsors is Buffalo Wild Wings, as evidenced on Raw. On Sunday, I decided to go to my local BWW and watch Battleground, the fourth WWE ppv in a row I would have seen there. So of course I am told that they were no longer showing WWE shows.
I blame Daniel Bryan for this of course.

Well, I guess Cena's coming back to save the WWE.... (from PWTorch.com):

Despite being the night after a PPV, WWE Raw on Monday, October 7 scored a 2.65 rating, down slightly from a 2.68 rating last week leading into Night of Champions.

This was the lowest-rated Raw of the year, falling below a 2.66 rating on June 3 against a Game 7 of the NBA Playoffs.

Raw was not only opposed by Monday Night Football, but the MLB Playoffs, which drew nearly four million viewers. Football drew an okay audience of 11 million viewers.

Not matter how 'successful' the Daniel Bryan experiment has been in most eyes, this can't help...

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

Do you suppose RAW would have better ratings if it were on, say, a different night? Competing with Monday Night Football can't do them any good.

The hitch to this logic, though I kind of agree with you, is that they've been going up against MNF for such a long time already that pointing the finger at MNF shouldn't apply. Granted, I watched RAW courtesy a DVR due to my team playing on Monday night, which is why I kind of agree, but during the late 90's when the ratings were astronomical football was on then too.

Raw was okay. The only issue I see with the show is they lump all the interesting faces, the Rhodes boys and Bryan, all together in one segment, rather than lace them into the show. Instead, I see Stephanie McMahon and Brad Maddox laced throughout the show, two characters who aren't going to swing a chair, take a Big Show KO punch or an RKO, or even endorse anyone doing so. They're just characters that remind us that we're watching Raw.

Things I can ballyhoo:

One women's match with zero AJ.

A bolstered Tag Team division and the only team I can count on seeing every week is 3MB.

I just finished watching with IJ. She is still 10. Here's what she liked, in order of enthusiasm.

1. WWE is coming to Seattle on December 9th. *JJD reaches for wallet.*

2. Big Show knocks out HHH.

IJ: "Oh wait, hold on...*that* wasn't my second-favorite."

2. John Cena is coming back to wrestle ADR at Hell in the Cell.

3. Big Show knocks out HHH.

4. HBK is the guest ref for Orton/Bryan at HitC.

5. Daniel Bryan attacking Randy Orton after is match with Kofi Kingston.

So yeah...why is John Cena coming back? There you go.

Also, *my* favorite part was Bray Wyatt interrupting MizTV, followed by IJ going "Hey he's by himself AND the lights are out. How could *this* go wrong for the Miz?"

And anyone who doesn't like Stephanie right now is doing it wrong. She's been PERFECT.

You know turning Punk heel maybe the worst move this company could make right now. They have a champion that is getting positive response from the crowd and selling a ton of merchandise.
