OK, the consensus may be that Battleground sucked, but may I just say that Big Show knocking out Triple H was a huge mark-out moment for me?

Hope you didn't download the WWE App to vote for a foregone conclusion. I wonder if Michaels will actually call it straight down the middle.

Damien Sandow choked big-time against Dolph Ziggler, Antonio Cesaro's BIG SWING on Khali had to be seen to be believed, and I enjoyed Punk taking on the Heyman Guys in an actual match outside of PPV. (As for R-Truth, though, I haven't really cared too much about him since Awesome Truth broke up).

Miz escaped the Wyatt Family! Wow. He better savor the flavor.

And Cena's coming back for, what-- his sixth career title match against Del Rio? I wonder when was the last time he competed for the World Heavyweight Title.

Couldn't Cena have stayed away for a bit longer? I was really enjoying his absence. I guess Cena=Ratings~ or whatever. I'm so tired of Cena's schtick. I really really REALLY wanna see him as a heel.

Seeing Big Show knock Trips out was awesome. I have the show on PVR - and I watched it in slow motion to savour it. Way to go.

I liked how the crowd was cheering the Real Americans. Maybe they're moreso cheering Cesaro's swing, but either way, the crowd is loving it.

For everyone complaining the World Heavyweight Championship is a distant #2 to the WWE Championship, John Cena potentially winning it changes that completely. Cena makes that big gold belt an instant main event, last match on the show prize and as a big plus, it removes Cena from the WWE Title picture giving Daniel Bryan room to breathe. #bestforbusiness

John Cena was last World Heavyweight Champion on 4/26/09.

WWE should start billing Aksana, Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendes the Bottom Divas. By that I mean, because they're the bottom of the Divas roster, obviously.

Eva Marie has yet to be programmed to wrestle. Jojo gets the distinction of winning her debut match without ever leaving the ring apron to enter the ring.

The story isn't that Cesaro can giant swing Khali, it's that it's a finisher. "I can't kick out! I'm too dizzy!"

2 months after my interest was reignited by Summerslam, I no longer enjoy watching the product.

More than that, this makes me wonder if they're getting ready to finally unify the titles, once and for all. Give Cena a run with the Big Gold Belt until Wrestlemania and let him and the champion go at it.

Of course, this does make me worry about Damien Sandow and I can totally see Cena beating him clean after beating Del Rio to establish, "Yes sir, John Cena is BACK, alright!"

This may be back-asswards logic, but for whatever reason, I can totally buy that for Khali, given his size. Having already seen the Giant Swing on Khali last night, I can safely say I was much more enthralled by the dwarf toss that came afterwards.

Nice to see Hunter finally show some weakness, but of course it was to the wrong guy. Big Show was the LAST person that needed this kind of rub. Would it really have killed them to have Bryan kick him in the head and celebrate, instead of coming in later and having it look like he's taking credit for someone else's work?

There was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much Stephanie McMahon on my TV tonight.

I've loved the Punk/Heyman feud, but enough is enough. It's time to wrap this sucker up.

No Van Dam and Ricardo's seemingly been written out again. I'd say that's the definite end for Rob's latest WWE run.

The most exciting thing going right now are the Rhodes boys. Everything else is just blech.

Well, ask for progress and we got all of it. Hell in a Cell will probably blow off everything, with Bryan finally winning the title with no takebacks and getting his hand raised by his trainer. I would've saved Big Show knocking out Triple H for the climax of that match too, but what a wonderful moment it was. (Uh, you know, it also might've helped save the PPV last night ... nevermind.)

And the reason everything is comfortably full speed ahead ... John Cena and his 4 month injury, cut in half. I wonder how much of that is the trusty recuperative powers of Definitely Not Steroids and how much of that is panic to rush him back to TV. Good for business, scary for John Cena's personal well-being, since this was a particularly nasty injury and he's a broken down engine to begin with.

I think overall, the return of the Big C will make the TV less intriguing, back to the formula, but it will ultimately be good for Daniel Bryan's push, because now he can get a solid title reign unencumbered by the pressure to hold up the business end all by himself, the same safety net from blame Punk benefited from during his reign. I probably would've been okay with waiting a little longer -- let me miss you first, pal -- but whatever.

Yes indeed. I was going to suggest that the rumored Punk/Orton WWE title match at Wrestlemania be a unification, because the WHC is completely useless and should be dropped ASAP but you may as well pretend that's a special match before you get rid of it. Now I wonder if they'll go to Cena/Bryan to unify them long before that.

It would be cooler if this were still Dolph Ziggler's reign and Cena coming back was the blowoff of their feud from the beginning of the year.

I could definitely see that. But I could also see Damien Sandow, embattled loser and completely undeserving winner, successfully cashing in on John Cena of all people in some sort of incredible travesty to set up Cena against some other big heel who lays him out.

How good a worker is Daniel Bryan? His offense even wakes up the Pittsburgh crowd. (I didn't go.)

That 6-woman tag was probably booked for a Total Divas storyline about the JoJo/Eva dispute but if I was going to get heat on one of them it would probably definitely be the tiny one who is referred to as "my sweet little JoJo" and not the one who would at times randomly forget to sell getting hit in the head.

Yep. Good to know that this red-hot storyline and situation coming out of Summerslam ended up being devoted to getting the friggin' Big Show over. Faint sliver of hope this ends with HHH beating Show in the Cell, then HHH challenging Bryan for the WWE title at Survivor Series, with Bryan tapping him out to blow off this storyline for good.

Stephanie McMahon's made her face look yellow.

Bob Backlund got over thirty percent of the vote, that was over double what I was expecting. How much cooler would that match be if he had won?

I gotta disagree with your thoughts on the WHC. It's clearly not a world title, no where near equivalent to the WWE World Championship, but it is easily the company's #2 belt, and it does a good job in that capacity. It has effectively replaced the Intercontinental Championship in that regard, and the IC title has lost a lot of its prestige over the last 10 or so years (Curtis Axel ain't helpin' get it back, either). I feel like eliminating the WHC would be counterproductive, leaving us without a respected #2 belt, and although you could build the IC or US titles up, currently you don't need to do that because of the WHC.

It's worthless because, relative to its name as WORLD heavyweight champion, it's actually a secondary belt. You're better treating the US and IC title as more important than carrying on with the charade that there's two "world" champions.

John Cena with an injured arm vs. Del Rio's armbreaker finisher is interesting, but what do we do with Ziggler? Work with Punk vs. Heyman and get the IC belt? Work with Cody vs. Shield to get the US belt? He needs something to do.

I don't disagree, necessarily, but what you (and others) are suggesting is putting in a lot of extra time and effort to get us to a place that we are already functionally at; i.e., one respected top title, and one respected secondary title.

I don't have any respect for the WHC as a secondary title because, as much as it functions as the current-era IC title, the prestige it's SUPPOSED to carry is non-existent. It's doing a job that's supposed to be beneath it.

I'm not sold that this is a genuine Cena comeback. Could they have him show up and get beat down with the cross armbreaker or something? Two months on the sidelines for such an injury is dumb, no matter how much of a "machine" he supposedly is.

I've always DVR'd the show and watched after the start as part of what I call my "domestic harmony" plan. Stephanie is automatic FF. If she did anything noteworthy, I'd have to rely on messageboards and Twitter to tell me.

I don't despise HHH as much, though I do wish he would dial down the smarm a notch or two - the casual fans buy into him so if he says bad things about guys while still acting cool and sarcastic, it doesn't have the true heel effect. If HHH would be more heelish, or at least refine the character a bit, I'd actually like it. This is despite the fact that I'm sick and tired of the "evil authority figure angles".

HHH will never allow himself to be fully heel again, because would have to destroy him. He is smart enough to know how to work a crowd, so he can still get cheers. Perfect example his the lead into WM 22. I think its an ego thing. Big Show knocking him out is fine, but he will be back on Raw or even Smackdown cutting shoot promos and then hide when Bryan wins or doesn't win.

Cena back means the Bryan Experiment is over. Now, its back to Cena saving the WWE from the scourge of ADR and RVD deciding he didn't want to resign. Instead of making new stars out of this storyline they somehow made Big Show relevant while sending Ziggler to the back of the bus. Show should have punched out Steph that would have gotten a bigger pop.

Bryan is eating that Sweet Chin Music don't kid yourselves.

There's no reality to anything lotjx posts. HHH has been lobbying to be a heel for years now. How anyone can watch that last segment - where he cowered behind three other men then got his head knocked off and sold it like he'd been shot - and say he "doesn't want to be a proper heel" is beyond me.

"The Bryan Experiment" was over the minute they decided to run with him at SummerSlam. They don't put guys over every top star they have, clean, as an "experiment". They don't spend two months bending over backwards to protect a guy from jobbing - which is what they've done ever since SummerSlam - with people they don't believe in. Bryan is a made man. He's here to stay. Just like Punk, another indy darling who, three years ago, would have been the subject of countless "he'll be jobbed out next year and be back in the opening matches or fired by 2012" posts.

Jesus Christ just listen to yourselves. The two biggest and best indy names of the last DECADE are currently the two top faces in North American wrestling. You can question the week-to-week storytelling - Lord knows it's been anything but smooth - but this Chicken Little "the WWE hates our favourite guys the sky is falling in Cena's going to come back and Bryan will be a jobber" bullshit is ridiculous.

Yeah, because they're toats goign to bring back Cena to SAVE THE DAY......by having him chase Del Rio......?

It's a brilliant move if this is true. Bryan retains being the #1 man in the chase for the WEE belt, and if anyone can bring back prestige to the WHC, it's Cena. Assuming they're going to bring him back.

Triple H and Stephanie were so great last night. Stephanie came of the rails. Triple H hiding behind Shield members

And I know people will complain WHY BIG SHOW GETS TO PUNCH, but the last image seen on TV is Daniel Bryan in the right, leading YES! chants. That's the lasting image/

Guys who Bryan has taken out CLEAN:

- John Cena. No ifs ands or buts, he beat Cena CLEAN.

- Randy Orton tapped out, AND got pinned, regardless of the Dusty Finish at NOC.

- Del Rio, who has been protected in his own right.

- Defeats Shield members despite the "numbers game".

Like Amos said, Bryan's a made man now. Actually, just read everything Amos just said and call it a day.
