The AJ thing is a weird inversion of Cena vs Bryan (or Bryan vs Orton). At least it gives her something to do although I think they could have thrown AJ and Big E at Bryan as another obstacle after the Shield.

The Big Show was definitely angling for another movie with his acting on the platform. You could feel the inner torment.

THIS. At least have a backstage segment where the other faces are imploring Show to get involved, but he's on the fence due to his long-standing issues with Daniel Bryan. Follow up that Christian segment with another bit of logic, since right now the faces en masse look like cowards and Show just looks like an idiot.

Or just have HHH say that if Show interferes, someone else gets fired.

I was actually convinced that Kong's music was going to play (or she was going to walk out behind AJ) during that speech.

Of course I was also convinced that the last thing we would see before Raw went off the air was The Big Show doing a knockout to Randy as he walked be, given how his mannerisms were going.

Also, could this lead to someone who hasn't debuted yet coming from out of the crowd to aid Bryan? It would get around the loophole, I think - I know we're all convinced that it'll be Ziggler and Show but what if it's someone new that sets everything in motion?

I expected the opposite. The reference to Foley before the PPV seemed like a way to bring him in now to give Bryan at least a temporary ally.

I hope this is a clue to where #TotalAJ vs. #TotalDivas could possibly go:

#Chickbusters.

Still waiting on Maria's blog if that's coming (she is in school today, she went back to college to earn her degree - the things you learn on Twitter).

Meanwhile, Mick Foley, while remaining mostly impartial, wrote a defense of the Bellas on Facebook. (facebook.com)

I'm always amazed at how well the Big Show expresses himself. He looked helpless and fuming. He was cheering on Bryan. At the end, you could see the fist ready for the punch, but it didn't happen. The crowd was chanting his name, he couldn't do it.

At this point, something has to give. I can see the groundwork being laid on Smackdown, or maybe later, but Bryan is going to need to even the odds. Foley could work, as could Regal.

But what I'd love to see is people with nothing to loose. Ziggler. Ryder (yes, Ryder). Kofi. People just not caring anymore and running out to help.

Where the heck is Sara Del Rey?

Training said women down in developmental. And as wonderful as seeing Death Rey on Raw would be, having her working with the women down there is likely much better for the long term health of the women's division than having her there beating a Bella half to death would be.

I think it's smart to give AJ a stronger tweener position, but does she NEED this angle? Why didn't, say, Kaitlyn get this? Give that time and position to someone who could use the elevation.

Because AJ is the only one who could pull this angle off. She has the charisma and presence to do that sort of promo without turning the crowd against her. Put Kaitlyn out there doing that speech and you get instant death.

Expect in this instance, I think they've got the face/heel dynamic the right way round. I care more about HHH losing as a bad guy that I cared about him winning as a good guy. With HHH as the douche bag boss, I actually *want* him to get his comeuppance, whereas when he was playing the face, he came across as insincere, and I just wasn't that invested in whether he beat Brock Lesnar at WM or started crying the night after SS.

If the purpose was solely to advertise Total Divas as angle fodder (even though it sounded like an utter burial of the product), we're still back to AJ versus everybody, and she was already there by dint of holding the belt.

If the above tweet from Kaitlyn implies a Chickbuster vs. everybody, then we got something because it brings Kaitlyn up to AJ's level somewhat. Then at least someone is elevated in this angle.

I keep thinking this should be Twin Magic Champs fending off Crazy AJ, but then we really would have all heel champs. Considering AJ's merchandise slogan is "Love Bites" and refers to her crazy love gimmick, they might be better off having her steal Tyson from Natalya.

This is the same board where we're pining away for 1996 WCW in real time, right? But two weeks of heat building to a comeback ...

YES. Big Show's gritted teeth and clenched fists did as much to get this over as anyone. He's terrific.

I'm pretty sure it's just setting up Natalya vs. AJ at NOC right now. Natalya tapped out AJ (well...) before SummerSlam. In fact I think the season finale's The Wedding Of Natalya airs the same night as Night of Champions.

But it could also be something with AJ on Total Divas season 1.5, because they book segments for that show too (Naomi vs. Jimmy Uso, Natalya's ruined birthday, etc).

Naomi can wrestle, by the way. Naomi vs. AJ on Main Event in the soft launch of this angle was good stuff.

Anyone else notice HHH's comment on the WWE title being his, and that Orton was just holding it on his behalf? That implies that the corp 2.0 secretly views Orton as a stop-gap & somewhere down the line, Orton will get dropped by Trips once he outlives his usefulness (and/or loses the WWE title) & someone else will take Randy's place as team HHH's true golden boy.

I think the implication is that the corporation has an anyone-but-bryan policy, and that they're more concerned with Bryan not being WWE champion, than they are with who currently is... as long as it isn't Daniel Bryan.

I think the suggestion earlier in this thread that Paige could come up from NXT might be the direction this ends up going. It would be a great way to intro her on Raw, and hell she has a fine reality tv ready life story if they want to drop her into the Total Divas show.

While watching AJ's promo, in my mind's eye I was already seeing reality show confessional cutaway reactions and shuddering. (So apparently I can't enjoy ANYTHING on these friggin' shows any more!)

Considering we've already seen that H is willing to put personal differences aside for the sake of "business" and that they need someone that would divide H and Vince, I'd have to imagine the true golden boy ends up being Brock Lesnar.

Oh, those couple of years pre-McMahon-Helmsley Era. The first Austin/McMahon feud, the rise of Mick Foley, the Hunter-led DX. Those were the definition of the Good Old Days, when those ideas were fresh. I cringe a bit when I see that they're still trying to capture that Austin/McMahon magic 15 years later, especially when they have someone so new and fresh like Bryan and a potentially-rejuvenated Orton.

Someone playing the "Fire me? I'm already fired!" card would be pretty amazing. Ryder's a total pipe dream, but I'd love for him to get in on this, solely from the perspective that he's already bottomed out.

I feel like the blowoff is near and we're all going to be poorer for it, because this has consistently been the company's best angle. I'm even starting to come around on Curtis Axel.

It would be a helluva way to end the Santino gimmick. He came out of the crowd to win the IC belt, and he surrenders his job to help Bryan and goes back into the crowd to end his "career."

I think Brock's already going to be busy with CM Punk and/or Undertaker leading in to WrestleMania. If Orton really is a placeholder, especially given HHH's comments, then the "golden boy" likely winds up being HHH HHHimself. It also sets up a real generational battle between the older, established champion HHH and the future star Daniel Bryan.

It also gives HHH a chance to get his own personalized side plates.

Don't get me wrong, if they can actually manage to schedule Brock in such a way to where he can get the title and appear on RAW regularly leading in to WrestleMania 30, Lesnar-Bryan would be phenomenal, BUT he'd have to win the belt at Elimination Chamber or the Rumble and pop in and out if they want to bring him back later in the year. Brock's schedule lends itself more to being an Undertaker challenger or wrapping up his feud with Punk at WrestleMania, if they decide to even do another Punk match.

Even though they're really taking a page out of the nWo book here, I really like the idea of the entire locker room being scared shitless by the HHH regime and Daniel Bryan is completely alone. I hope they can keep this up for a little while longer and have Bryan slowly recruit people like they teased with Sting and the nWo. Make every person who sides with Bryan count and make it a hard decision for them each time. It's kind of funny how Big Show keeps getting pulled into these things as if he hasn't known this role ever before.
