After doing some internetting, I was wrong. I don't retract or feel about about what I said. If that makes me one of the people his wife is writing about in her blog post, so be it. But I don't think I am. Given the history of professional wrestling and the overwhelming number of examples of using personal moments to create/promote angles, I expected and wanted a real Cody appearance. If he's happy to keep beating the Stardust drum, good for him. I hope he is able to find closure and become the superstar he deserves to be. IMO, it ain't happening as this version of StarDust.

Spot on. I wasn't as offended by it as much as others, but it did make me audibly groan and physically roll my eyes.

You're absolutely right. The problem is that as long as Brock is around, because of his track record/ability/booking, no one can legitimize the title as much as Brock can. We all know that this isn't real, but it's a suspension of reality versus ignoring reality. If Rollins beats Lesnar clean, the legitimate response is "that only happened because this shit is fake." If Lesnar beats Rollins clean, the legitimate response is "of course he did. He's Brock Fucking Lesnar." They did this to themselves and I don't think they know how, or have the skill, to get out of it.
Rusev is doing phenomenal work, and has been for quite some time; at least since the Cena "can't see me with your one eye" promo. That guy gets it and he will only get better.
Randy Orton, what more can I say about him that I haven't said already? The heart smiley is broken.
If anything, this US title situation is showing how out of touch Vince really is. Cesaro should've had a rocket strapped to his ass from the point he bodyslammed Show out of the ArMBaR.
The threeway was one of those moments that made me just sit back and think, "Wow, all three of these guys are awesome." I knew that about Cesaro and Owens already, but it really made me notice Rusev too for the first time since WrestleMania. The Lana stuff made me just not care about him (and Summer Rae is fairly useless, because she always seems to have that same one expression), but he's a good guy. All three of these guys could easily be in main events of shows challenging for the title, or defending it against the good guy.
Also, I harp on this seemingly weekly and I think I'm the only one who cares, but continuity between Raw and the not in-ring stuff is out of hand. Picture three on WWE.com right now: the NXT divas invading. Picture four: Alicia and Paige hugging on tonight's Total Divas. You've just spent the last month telling us Paige has no friends, and Alicia would rather be attached to Team Bella (granted, not a bad move since they are always in the spotlight), but they are super buddy-buddy?
Originally posted by GreymarchI agree that Steph being there kinda robbed the moment of some of its spontaneity and shifted the spotlight so that Steph would get some of the light that should have been focused on the Divas themselves. But, she has been involved with the whole project of bringing up the next batch of Divas and if you recall she introduced the first NXT Womens Championship match on Arrival as well.
So I think that she actually really wanted to be part of it, that it was something that she and HHH have been working at outside the purview of Vince and is legitimately proud to introduce them. But being a MacMahon she just can't help leeching that heat while she does so. ;)
I have not been following RAW, and I don't even get to see NXT, so maybe I'm off here. But I did watch a clip of this, and here's my thought. I don't inherently mind Staph getting involved here. But...isn't she a heel? Aren't the Bellas heels? It seemed like they were introducing the NXT women as faces, but having a heel introduce them made no sense, no? Or am I missing a change somewhere?

I caught this too. Reminds me of how Vince will work a several-month program as a heel, go away for a few weeks, then comeback to TV as a "straight" authority/owner figure (no heeling, no shenanigans, etc), righting wrongs, making matches, introducing new guys, almost in a neutral Jack-Tunney-like role, and get treated like a Face.
So yeah, Steph kinda did the same thing last night.
The only slight disappointment was that Bayley wasn't able to be a part of the mass call-up, but it will be cool to see her and Sami when each of them make it to the main roster.
I think Bayley's probably lucky if things are going to play out as they were as teased last night. Being the 4th new person to debut among a field of 10 isn't as good as being 1 person with some sort of promotional push to your debut.
Bayley will be fine, but it kind of stinks poor broken Emma couldn't get one of those spots.
I still don't get why Steph and Trips are cool with Brock dismantling their core group. I don't know if this plays itself out with some sort of HHH conflicted moments and eventual involvement in the outcome of things. I'm hoping for a total blowup of some sort just to reset the top of the card.
Randy Orton is at the top of my list of guys who I just groan at seeing passing Big Show, Miz and Kane. Congratulations Randy.

This. The NXT girls helping Paige and destroying the Bellas out of nowhere would have been great. Instead we get a clusterfuck thanks the McMahons. Although, they won't take the belt off of Rollins, they are getting dangerously close to Jeff Jarrett WCW champ with him.
Apparently Steph introduced them because those in charge felt that she would give them instant credibility. You know what else would've given them instant credibility? Leaving Team Bella lying in the ring after helping Paige even the odds. I don't know why this company loves to overcomplicate the meatballs.

Aw, c'mon. Don't you remember that time the Shield showed up and everyone was like "who the fuck are THESE guys? They suck." and then Vince, Stephanie, Hunter, Shane, Linda, and the Ghost of Vincent J. came to the ring with mics and spelled out how exactly who they were and how they were killing it in NXT (because they were worried you might not be paying $9.99 and/or watching NXT) and everyone started losing their shit over the Shield? I TOTALLY remember that episode of Raw.
WWE Credibility: Get It™.
Holy fuck shit motherfucker shit. Read comics. Fuck shit shit fuck shit I sold out when I did my job. Fuck fuck fuck shit fuck. Sorry had to do it....

Best way to watch these days in my opinion. You can zero in on what you like/interests you and ignore the rest. Sure something like the NXT(Diva)Takeover gets spoiled, but you take the good with the bad without having to be annoyed by bad tv.

It works out perfectly - just watch the action I want and still head off to work on time! I don't look at the reports before watching it, although sometimes I wish that I had so I would have known to not bother!
It's entirely subjective how one receives a wrestling show, so it's not my place or anybody else's place to tell someone he is wrong for liking or not liking something. What I can say, however, is that I sure feel sorry for the cynics on this board.
I finally watched my recording of Raw this morning (didn't have anything spoiled for me, thank goodness) and I thought the NXT women's debut was awesome. AWESOME. I wasn't sitting there thinking, "Dammit why is there a McMahon in the ring?" I wasn't sitting there thinking, "I can't wait until they screw THIS up." They introduced three minor leaguers as if they were big time free agents. Even with the amazing triple threat match later in the night, it was clear that this moment was supposed to be the biggest moment of the evening.
I can't remember the last time the women's division was given so much shine on the main show. This should be good.

(If there was anything I had complaints about from Raw it was Owens causing another non-finish. That's gotten old.)
It just goes to show you how messed up things are in Titan Towers. This would be a much more desired match then Angle vs Kane. They have the damn guy in Canada ready and waiting.
