Originally posted by CRZWell, mine's more along the lines of how I think Steph may be setting up Hunter. (We didn't SEE Vince yell at Steph, but we did see her crying and riling up her husband. We also cut away before we could see if she was going to curl her lip and twirl her mustache after Triple H left.)
Or maybe, hopefully, I'm reading too much into what I DIDN'T see. They could always go the easy way and book Vince AND Steph AND H as heels. I just don't get that vibe, though.
Someone remind me: Is Triple H able to wrestle again or is he currently under some "never wrestle again" stipulation? I have to admit I'm too old to remember and too lazy to go back and look.
Evil scheming McMahons are uniting. Helmsley will fight for the powers of good after being blindsided by betrayal. In the end Steph will come back to the side of good and McMahon will be sent off in shame again.
How long this goes on and how many angles get mixed in along the way is anyones guess.
Originally posted by Dr UnlikelyI really didn't like the opening marathon segment. They're misreading what got Bryan over, and they really misread that crowd last night, who only popped for wrestling-related things and got treated to (almost) all half-assed non-matches with an All-Star Collection of Wrestling's Laziest Finishes.
Yeah, this was a segment where I wished McMahon came out sooner. The corporate makeover stuff was pretty cringe-worthy, and it felt like they could have been smarter about a segment designed seemingly solely to introduce a new T-shirt.
For a minute, I really did think they were going for Wade "The Barber" Barrett, but I guess that's not happening.
I think Cena is winning the promo wars here. His promo also dragged, but was more on point and believable. It also wasn't all about a beard, which I think is the main issue in how they're messing up Bryan's momentum. Bryan basing everything around his beard in his promos is like if Cena talked about his hat for 20 minutes. Which I'm sure he's done before, but hasn't in this feud.
They're definitely starting some sort of slow burn with the McMahons, which seems to validate the rumors of a WrestleMania xXx angle centered entirely around the McMahon family. I just hope that the match either winds up being HHH vs Vince, but of course that probably won't happen and we'll wind up getting a "McMahon in every corner" again. I just hope it winds up getting someone over in the end.
The Shield, McMahons and Orton now being directly involved seems to set up a major clusterfuck in the WWE Title match, but all of that at the end with the MITB tease was more interesting than anything Bryan or Cena were saying the whole episode. Hopefully, they get to wrestle a great match without interference taking too much away from it, or having it all post-match.
The Wyatt Family has taken a longer time to grow on me, but last night, I think I really started to like Bray Wyatt. He's really great at speaking nonsense crazy phrases, which is what WWE needs more of. Less grounded characters and more people with personality that aren't too "gimmicky." I mean, yeah, the Wyatt Family is a gimmick, but not too much of one, or at least I don't have to stretch my imagination too much to buy that there's a crazy cult leader that wants to invade the wrestling world.
Also, a RING OF FIRE (but technically not an Inferno) match! I like the SummerSlam card so far. I kinda hope they make Cody/Damien a ladder match, but other than that, no complaints.

Wish they would add Shane-O-Mac in the mix just for wrestlemania in the fourth corner. Maybe with a repackaged returning from injury heel celtic warrior that's no longer a pasty white red headed stepchild.
They'll probably add Linda to the mix instead, with a returning heel Hornswaggle competing for her.
Originally posted by CRZESPECIALLY after the Steph/HHH backstage segment, I think the seeds are being planted for some major McMahonery to come out of SummerSlam... and not in the good way. I'm getting a really unpleasant feeling about how I think things are being set up to come down.
I, too, thought the same ... Vince aligning himself with Cena or Orton ... shades of Vince/Austin at WMXVII.
2013 : 2011 Los Angeles : Los Angeles Cena : Cena Bryan : Punk HHH : HHH Vince : Vince Orton : Del Rio Shield : Nash Maddox : Laurinaitis
"And don't you forget it, and you're next!" Man, something about that was just kind of, awesome. I have nothing against Hogan, but I have to say there's a bit of irony in Michaels' promo work carrying most of this feud...
