And the hell was that crack about Rosa paying Epico and Hunico's taxes right before they went to commercial? Was that supposed to be Vince's Romney reference?

He got talked over there, but he was attempting to crack a joke about the fact that Rosa is pretty useless as a manager. Hense, "What does she do for them anyway, their taxes?"

I look forward to Kane and Daniel Bryan continuing to find new ways of winning matches by screwing each other out of the win for their team. I'm also guessing that one day they will stop yelling "I am the tag team champions" nod to each other emphatically raise each other's hand and simultaneously proclaim "WE are the tag team champions!".

Then world peace will finally be achieved.

Kassius Ohno's Rolling Elbow > Wade Barret's Elbow Strike

I really hope Hero/Ohno doesn't have to drop his beautiful looking (and painful sounding) Rolling Elbow because Barret decided to stop using his old shitty looking finisher and go for a strike move. They could bring Ohno in as a sparring partner of Barrett and they become the Knockout Brothers.

Ryder in two matches in a row where he doesn't get squashed? Not to mention a few weeks ago where he actually won a lengthy battle (it was against Heath Slater mind you, but a win is a win). Could they be attempting to take Ryder seriously again?

Sandow, Ryback, and Brodus need extended feuds. I'm sick of those guys appearing in squash matches and the occasional lenghty throw away match to fill time. It looks like Ryback may start a feud with Miz which could be interesting. If they are serious about pushing Ryder there is no better foil to his happy goofy character than Damien Sandow. We just need an adversary to fight big Brodus. Give him Big Show again for the Battle of The Super Heavyweights.

Punk should of kicked the ref in the head. Sure he would of been justified and the crowd would of popped but who cares at this point? Unless the next Raw is in 1980 Punk will still get crowd sympathy for being anti-Cena.

I still can't believe there was no Dr. Shelby last night! It makes me angry.

But I started thinking... AJ said at Night of Champions Dr. Shelby's anger management comes at great expense. She must have had to sell her pants to help pay for Daniel and Kane's sessions, hence the corporate shorts.

I thought Heyman's "I'm the Voice of the Voice of the Voiceless" line was incredibly clever.

I think WWE has really stepped it up lately. Often times I would wonder "Why do I watch this crap?" after a show, but lately it's been good.

It seems they're addressing a lot of the things people were not happy with-- longer matches, shorter promos, acknowledging when something is working (Team Friendship), letting Cole be a human being, cutting back on the social media pimping, etc.

But between the PPV and Raw, nearly six hours of WWE programming is plenty for me.

I watched the PPV at Buffalo Wild Wings and they showed a clip of the little boy in the goat mask from anger management. A waitress who obviously doesn't watch the show just stared at the screen with a look of "What the HELL are these people watching?"

JBL was mostly good, but his commentary in the Sandow/Ryder match was insufferable (big word). He was fighting with Cole too much, and was indirectly burying Sandow (whose name he even pronounced wrong) with talking about his choice of big words. And JR had to be the peacemaker of sorts there and it led to taking me out of the match in a big way.

Other than that, I did think the show was the second best three hour Raw during its current run (Raw 1000 was obviously the best).

Yeah, I have the impression JBL's intent there was to say something like: "Those really aren't big words, but Sandow has to say they are or these yokels will be completely lost." But he lost the thread in all his ranting at Cole.

I greatly appreciate JBL calling out JR for saying Sandow and Ryder will be great athletes one day. JBL: "Whaddya mean 'one day'? Ryder's a former US champion!" He clearly remembers the times when commentators used to put the talent and the title belts over. It's a shame he's not sticking around for more.

It's my understanding, from Lucha-riffic friends on Twitter, JBL told some whoppers about Rey and Mistico last night too.

I'm sure Cubs can elaborate.

That crowd - specifically, the handful of smarky "chant starters" - was working INCREDIBLY hard to make sure RAW never emanated from Bridgeport ever again...and not just from the chants, but from how dead they were for almost EVERYTHING else.

I was telling my friends that the Ryder-Sandow match/segment was an interesting development but my buddy was like, "No, listen to the crowd, they don't care about this."

Now that you mention it, they were a shit crowd.

There are two ways to look at CM Punks heel turn....

One (very cynical) view, is to say that eventually everyone gets fed to Cena. They gave Punk his run to see where it went (part of me feels that Vince subconsciously stalled Punk's momentum -- you know, the "I say who makes it, dammit!" mentality) now it's his turn to be sacrificed at the altar of 'Superman'.

However, my personal view is that it's a way to get Punk over even more, meaning he is even more over if he turns face again sometime down the road.
If fans care enough to hate you, then they care enough to love you as well. I know all about this. I'm remembering July 16th, 2001, I'm remembering Raw, I'm remembering Stone Cold breaking a pool cue, I'm remembering a young mark desperately hoping for the 'old Stone Cold' to come back, and when he did (''And there he is! But is it the old stone cold!? Oh, he's talking! He's walking, the BMF walk!'') it a moment of utter euphoria, it was effectively a return on my emotional investment in the product, it was a payoff, if you will, and that 'payoff' is part of the reason I still watch wrestling at 25.

In this scenario I see him turning uber-face shortly after WM.

Wow, what was up with the crowd? For most of the show I could hear the static buzz, you know, that audible 'fffffff' in the background of microphones picking up nothing of note. There wasn't even a jerk who could've screamed whatever he wanted so it would be heard on TV. I could've been that jerk. "Bring back Koslov", "Chili Dogs", etc.

And the tag division is. There's actually hints a tag feud that doesn't involve the belts. Neato.

Heyman is still gold.

A couple weeks ago, Meltzer wrote that it was Punk himself who wanted to go heel, because after a year he decided that they would never let anyone pass Cena as #1 babyface, but he could easily be #1 heel and they would build TV around him even more as that.

I understand his logic, he's better as a heel, and it's more fun to be a heel, but you know what else was wide open? #2 babyface, the only real competition being the Sheamus project, who's good but not there yet, and Orton with two strikes, who also really wants to turn heel.

That said, it was a strategic move on Punk's part because he's lined up Rumble and Wrestlemania paydays with the Rock and Austin or Undertaker or HHH, both of which will be more heated with him as a heel. And you're exactly right, he'll stay popular as a heel and eventually the crowd will force him into turning back and he'll be an even bigger face.

Kane and Bryan look like they're having so much fun with this. Kane works better in this goofy, awkward face-ish character because no matter how much they periodically try to give him the "Big Red Machine/Monster" makeover, everyone watching knows that he won't ever get pushed over the hump to pay it off.

Too bad about JBL, I thought his first attempt to ascend a peak fell short, and maybe he was going to find another way to benefit the charity. Before I knew that JBL was just making a cameo, I was going to say how nice it was that JR was received so warmly, and in return how nice it was of JR to not horn in, showing that he's not needed as a second color analyst.

Why would anyone expect the best wrestling play-by-play announcer alive to be an excellent color man? If JR is going to fill in until King can get back, expect more heelish Cole to pop out - great as Ross is, he's the wrong fit for the hole they need patched.

And what's up with guys like Ohno and Ambrose that the dirt sheets have been hinting at since WrestleMania? Creative has nothing for them yet? How many guys in that pre-show battle royal would really be missed if they were cut loose from the jobber brigade?

I know me and my buddy Tom will be there. I was wondering if anyone else from here would be going, and if anyone had some good sign ideas. All I'm hoping is I'm going to be able to pick up a green Hurricane shirt...and for the debut of Rey Mysterio Jr....
