Personally I find it quite satisfying when the crowd does not behave. No heat for Goldberg? Go to wrestling school.

Maybe the show wasn't anything special, but it showed signs of hope.

Shawn is conflicted. I like to see depth like that. Flair and Randy are taunting him with polemic arguments.
Ok, I just wanted to use the word polemic.

Anyways, maybe wrestling fans aren't so stupid, if they're canny enough to not believe the hype.

I really thought the Austin stunning Stacy thing was stupid and nonsensical. Then, after Jericho saved Trish and then made the comments to Austin about "treating women with respect", I think Jericho will come out next week and play up the fact that Austin attacked an innocent woman for no obvious reason other than she didn't like beer while Y2J saved a woman that was being attacked by a guy. If that happens, I guess we will just ignore the times Jericho has beat up Stephanie.......and Trish.......and Stacy.

If they are going for what I think they are, it could be really awesome. If Austin evolves into seeing the error of his old ways, and becomes completely anti-employee and pro-management, it would actually be what's needed to turn him heel. A double turn and slow burn to a Wrestlemania match between him and Jericho could be ratings gold. If they do this, I will be watching.

Face turns always require us to forget past transgressions.
Is it just me, or is brutality towards women more acceptable from someone who's never really done it at least as far as we know?

As brilliant an idea as this is, it's going to be very difficult to get any crowd to turn on Austin. Even in 2001, when SC was busting out revolutionary heel behaviour, crowds were booing, but with a sort of "Oh rats, he's not a good guy again" feel.

I thought RAW was kind of average. The S.H.I.T. makes me change the channel now, and I actually like Hurricane most of the time. That said, I'm looking forward to Goldberg-Michaels next week. WWE needs to get back to booking in advance, and flowing from one week to the next. Smackdown could really do with that.

I don't see how this match is a smart move on the WWE's part. They spent all this time trying to build Goldberg up to the fans, and now he is really gonna get boo-ed when he wrestles Michaels.

Even if they decide to turn Michaels heel, fans will still cheer him and boo Goldberg just like they did when Goldberg wrestled the Rock.

I said I was looking forward to it, I didn't say it makes sense.

Besides, one could argue that it makes World title the focal point of RAW. Actually, WWE could play up the influence of HHH with Michaels, and have HBK choose between winning the title and accepting the help of Evolution, or standing up for his principles.

Of course its more acceptable. As much as a lot of people were pissed at the idea of Bischoff 'forcing himself' on Linda, I'm sure the reaction would have been a hell of a lot worse if, say, they had god Mike Tyson back in for a guest appearance in that angle.

I dunno, as long as they actually book Michaels as a heel they should be able to pull it off. Hell even have Michaels start off face in the match and book a fairly even match until Evolution run in and beat the jeebus out of Goldberg. Michaels then makes to lay out Flair with a chair before turning and beating on an already bloody Goldberg. Voila! Insta-face sympathy for young Bill.

If Mark Henry never wears white again, I’ll be a happy man. Oh yes…I might also suggest a jock strap. Obviously, there’s not a lot there, but still.

Shudder..I saw that too and wished I hadn`t...

Did anyone else catch JR calling Ivory`s move an "x-factor"?

Also, according to my local newspaper, it`s Stacy`s birthday. Happy birthday Stacy! Have a confusing Stunner!

Good Raw, it was nice to see the Book back this week, and he looked great....I figured as soon as Austin started talking about beating woman that today on the boards there would be a lot of people calling him a hypocrit, and they are right....Apparantly Jericho made the save to show up Austin, I wish it would be to get a piece of Trish because I think those 2 could make an awesome heel team....I dont care what you say, I laughed at fat man in a phone booth...The wrestling was all pretty good tonight, and Flair showed why he is the man on the stick still....I agree that Mark Henry needs to stop wearing the white tights....Goldberg almost got hit by a car for the second time in less than a year, and then the stuff fell off the top shelf, tonight for him had a "detective attacked in a murder mystery" fell to it...the opening promo was pretty cool, as was the Jericho n the heels promo

Raw was fairly entertaining this week. They found a way to get practically the entire roster on screen at least once (only missing Test [injured], Rodney Mack [injured], Jindrak, Cade, Jacqueline, and HHH [making googly eyes at Steph]).

The 4-man tag I enjoyed, opening Jericho/Christian segment was good, and Flair was awesome. Rest of the matches weren't particularly good, but nothing was exceptionally horrible, except maybe the hypocritical JR & Austin.

Hmm, no HHH and a fairly entertaining Raw. Coincidence...?

The highlight of the night for me had to be the segment with Goldberg and HBK, which in turn brought out Evolution, then Teddy Long and Mark Henry, and then Bischoff. With the first appearance of Tommy Dreamer on, I was really enjoying the segment and the fact that it was all about Triple H's bounty on Goldberg. Naitch's mic work didn't hurt the segment, either.

Next up for me was the Jericho save on Trish, and the looks on both of their faces. Consider me hooked on what that's all about.

Rosey in a phone booth was funny, I thought. Not overly funny, but amusing enough.

Overall, I wasn't horrified by this week's Raw, and I haven't been able to say that in awhile.

Wow a brand new spankin theme video. And a new ring announcer. NO NO NO. Where's Lilian! My heart is weeping. Okay, One week I won't panic. She might be enjoying some good Canadian thanksgiving stuffing, hmm is Trish on this show today?

-HiLight Reel (on budget cuts)- Bunch of French and or Canadian come out (with Conway). They are full of the propaganda saying how Austin is the root of all Raw's ills and being a bad influence to other including Shane McMahon actions from last week and this weekends houseshow with footage!. (man this new houseshow footage highlights thingy they did this week came in handy in this scenario). Shane breaks Test's foot. Test went to the hospital to get tests on Test's foot the test came positive therefore Test is on the injury shelf.

-RVD vs. Steiner- Steiner tells Stacy to throw the chair to him when asked (let me call it! Stacy throws chair, Steiner catches it, RVD hits VanDamanator). One of the first moves out of the gate was the belly to belly by Steiner (didn't reports say that move was banned? oh it's RVD, he doesn't count). Opps I called the ending wrong, actually not a bad 3 minute match considering it's Steiner. Steiner is angry with Stacy and chases her into the ring and the Pittsburgh crowd raises and pops? WTF... Out comes Austin, reads the riot act onto Steiner. I did like just moments after Lawler said "No ones that stupid to punch Austin" a second later Steiner levels him (fits Steiner musclebrain character perfectly). Austin opens a giant can on Steiner. Gives Stacy a beer, she drinks like a prick (Lilian she ain't). StoneCold stuns her, Outrage! (But she is biting Lilian's go-go boots so JEZABEL you got what's coming to you!)

-Maven vs. Rico- A bait and switch Flair for Rico? Then again don't know how much "bait" Maven is LoL. Match clocked under 2 minutes. Good for what a hundred and ten second match can be. Still not getting Maven's finisher, it looks like recovered F-up... Flair crazy old man beatdown was damn entertaining. whooo

-Goldberg/HBK interview- Goldberg and HBK come out to discuss their philosophical differences (oh good luck) Before they can really set up a discussion forum Dreamer comes running in (what religion are you?). But Dreamer dream of getting 100,000 is disappeared... Crazy old man Flair comes running out and screaming crazy old man stuff just to make matter confusing. Match made for later tonight!

-Booker/Dudley/Shane vs. Conway/Dupree/Christian/Y2J- A 20-minute match which was actually really good. Some real good flow with all 8 guys through out the match... Not too many memorable spots, the only bad spot was a screwed up spinebuster by Booker on Dupree which they got their signals mixed up. A good move was when the Dudleyz lowering the table on the outside as Christian slid right by it. Nice false table spot with the 3D and Conway pulling the table away just to get met with the bookend by THE BOOK. JR called Renee Dupree, Renee Goulet! But he’s forgiven because he gave a nice Canadian Thanksgiving line.

-Shane/Kane in hospital- The Doc looks like Shane's long lost brother. Shane dissing Kane with Kane's heartbeat going quicker and quicker was cheesy borderline dumb. But whatever, this storyline has been so over the top lame that I'm not taking anything serious out of it.

-Trish/Lita/Ivory v. Vicky/Kim/Molly- Disappointed with the crowd for this match. They deserved more love. Even Lita who gets pops for the most basic of moves wasn't getting much response. Gail still has her obvious bad moment & unfortunately so does Lita(who I had high hopes for after her first 2 impressive outings)they stood there awkwardly at a punching exchange. Lita gets a beatdown but gets enough power to crotch Molly on the buckle. Lita crawls slowly to tag Trish, (slow crawl tag is fine but NOT in this situation where Molly has to sell her stunned on the buckle for what seemed like a minute before Trish finally got the tag) Now the match is picking up. Trish hit's the Stratusfear. All heck breaks loose with divas hitting their impact moves. Lita ToF, Ivory PoisonIvy, Vicky spiderweb, Trish goes for the Sfaction but Stevie blocks it, Vicky goes for the Wpeak but Trish rolls behind her for the pin.

Jericho runs out and helps Trish by throwing out Richards and Victoria. I don't know if this is a partnership they are going to continue but I really like these two together. I see them interact away from the ring (ie MuchMusic awards, Trish DVD, even that awful Diva Search judging thing) and they seem real comfortable and have a certain chemistry together. I want to see them together. But not lovey dovey But more out of self-interest for their own careers. I think these 2 would be great together... It's pretty smart of Jericho to save a very important diva from getting hurt while his nemesis is stunning another very popular diva for no apparent reason. Fit's into Jericho (show all of Austins wrongs by doing the opposite) mentality. Can Jericho convince Diva of the Decade to join him especially after seeing what her fellow babyface diva got from the unstable GM. Could be interesting.

-Goldberg/Michaels vs. Henry/Orton/Flair- Most of the time I get to see Flair in the ring I consider it a treat. So I won't be so hard on this match. A Flair flop is always fun see... Michaels really carried this match as well. After the match Shawn hits Goldberg with some chin music and Bischoff comes out happy that he did. Shawn's body language is saying "no, no this wasn't a heel turn" He just wanted some payback from last week. Goldberg vs. Michaels next week. I'm sold on this match more then anything on No Mercy PPV.

-OtherStuff- Follow Austin backstage. (1) Meets Jericho & asks what's the deal with him helping Trish. Is Y2J getting some HCA (Hot Canadian Action) that he didn't know about? Jericho said he was just being nice to a woman. A concept Austin has no clue of. (2) Meets Big John (how did he get backstage?). Gives Austin a videotape and said please watch it. Austin says okay. Out of the blue Big John said that Little John tapped it. Who's Little John? Big John acts like G Dub when asked about WMD and quickly changes the subject and leaves in a panic. (3) Austin meets a female with a microphone backstage. Unfortunately it wasn't Lilian. Austin needs a drink. (4) Austin passes by Rosey in a phonebooth. I found that whole thing really fun. I like when they do stuff like that. I like it a bit more when they follow they tag-camera follow people backstage which they did a couple of times. But this was pretty cool too

Now to a bit more of a downer, after really doing Storm good last week. This week he's just backstage reading Lita's book *sigh*... Atleast we know Storm couldn't be the driver that tried to run over Goldberg this time. Maybe it's time to take public transit Goldberg.

Line of the Night: JR "Renee Goulet"
Sign of the Night: "Kill Bill"
3Stars of the Night: 1)Flair. 2)Michaels. 3)Jericho

It was hard to pick 3 stars, there weren't too many standouts. But I thought the show was really good. It had a real nice flow to it. Also some intriguing stuff from conflicted HBK to Jericho & Trish, to unstable GM Stone Cold... Raw again is looking like the better of the two shows. Nothing on SD even in the horizon is as interesting as 3 or 4 possibilities that can go on Raw. But one thing was missing. Lilian please come back!

Concerning the "Who's gunning for Goldberg" mystery, I think we have all learned that the culprit is either Rikishi or Triple H. If the WWE is serious about solving the mystery, it might be time to call Leslie Neilsen and George Kennedy!

Anyways, that was a fun Raw show, despite the lackluster crowd reaction to anything not involving cheering Booker or booing Goldberg. Austin stunning Stacy was stupid beyond belief, but it did seem to serve a purpose. In fact, I have to give props to the WWE writers for having Y2J save Trish later in the night to (presumably) set up more Jericho ammunition against Austin. I could even see Chris making a play to become the new GM of Raw if Stone Cold is fired/suspended. This was just a brilliant piece of storytelling by the writers.

Keep giving me Raws like this, and it may pass Smackdown as the more entertaining WWE show.

Molly, Stacy and Daffney all in WWE? I suddenly lost all my will to complain about anything regarding the WWE. Hope I don't lose my street cred for this.

Wasn't Vince McMahon's son supposed to be a small pebble for Kane to destroy on his way to a main event slot? Now, its a multi-PPV, multi-month feud that appears to have the sole purpose of elevating Vince's son. And, now that we know 1 of the 8 joint PPV matches for Survivor Series, I can't wait until Vince decides to put himself in a Survivor Series match, thus 1/4 of the combined PPV will be matches involving the McMahon family (unless of course Vince's wife faces Sable, then it would be 37.5% of a combined PPV being focused on McMahon's).

There's a word that Jericho's been using in his promos that I don't understand. It sounds like "recoculate."

I think he said it last night when talking about the match between Shane and Test - "When Stone Cold booked that recoculated match!!!"

Anyone know what it means?
