In the back, Terri interviews Flair, in black sportscoat, light blue shirt, on crutches, and Randy, in black shortsleeves. But then Shawn shows-up, in black "HBK" fishy tshirt and blue jeans. Flair talks-up Michaels, attempting to sway him to the dark side. Man - I could just listen to Flair for hours!

Why won't they wake up? Did they just eat a big meal and then sit down for a bit, but wind up falling asleep? That happens to me sometimes. But now it's time for Raw, live from Pittsburg, PA, and a Fashion Report, too!

King, in black suitcoat (and no shirt) and JR, in black hat, sportscoat and shirt, with FOOTAGE! But, in the ring, Jericho, in sparkly silver/blue "Hilight" silhoutte shirt, and Christian!, in yellow tights with black "C"s on red crests, with FOOTAGE! of Shane injuring Test. To refute, Shane, in UPS-brown shirt (cuffs rolled-up) and tan jeans, is out. So then Rene, in black "La Resistance" undies and Conway, in purple "Conway" undies, are out to talk, too, I guess. Beatdown on Shane. The Dudleys - DVon in sleeveless black "Dudley Boyz 3D" tshirt and green camo pants, and Bubba, in "Dudleyville 3D" jersey and black warmups, make the save and a challenge. But - Rob's an American.
Riding on the range/I've got my hat...on/I've got my boots...dusty/I've got my saddle...on my horse

In the back, someone tries to run-over Goldberg. See what happens when you wear THAT DAMN STOCKINGCAP? And why don't they bleep "bitch"?
Riding on the chuckwagon/Following my man/His name is Ted/Can you believe that?

Rob, in blue/purple/oragne singlet with yingyang, the IC Title over his shoulder, vs. Steiner, in chainmail (wrapping under his chin, not like the usual open kind) and black "Freakzilla" tights, with Stacie, in black dress with white belt. Where's Lillian? Steiner with a chairshot for a DQ. Average match. Post-match Steiner treatens Stacie, but Austin, in black sleeveless "F0CK Fear" tshirt, similar baseball cap, jean shorts, and kneebraces, is out to taunt Steiner, who does strike. Austin procedes to destroy Steiner, then he drinks. And he stunners Stacie for not drinking with him (and the Pavlovian crowd cheers).

Flair joins commentary. Maven, in black "M" fullcuts, vs. Rico, in cyan/blue/silver/black full-legged singlet, with Jackie, in blue top and white slitted dress. Not even Flair can help this commentary team. Maven off the top rope for the pin. Poor match. Post-match Flair attacks Maven with a crutch.

In the back, Rosey, in reporter gear, talks to Lance. Hurricane shows up and makes Rosey change in a phone booth. Man, just turn sideways!
Camping on the prairie/Plays havoc with my hair/Makes me feel quite dirty/And we all do, sometimes

More FOOTAGE! of the Limo Ride of Doom.

In the back, Dudleys and Shane have a match. And someone tries to take-out Goldberg with a cardboard box.
Looking like a hero/Six-gun at my side/Chewing my tobacco

Goldberg, in black sleevelesss barbedwire tshirt, black pants, with the World Heavyweight Title over his shoulder, talks. Then Shawn comes out and Goldberg derides him. Shawn talks, upset about taking a spear last week. Tommy Dreamer attacks with his kendo stick. Then Flair and Randy are out, to continue The Temptation of Shawn. But Mark Henry, in white bodysuit with red slashes and Teddy Long, in tan suit with white shirt, are out, too! Now Bisch, in black shortsleeves and bluejeans, is out. Goldberg has a lot of enemies, making me do a lot of typing. Book a match - Mark/Randy/Flair vs. Michaels/Goldberg.

Jericho, now in blue/black sparkly silhoutte tights, Christian!, Conway, and Rene, with the blue coat, vs. Dudleys (DVon wears the Tag Title, Bubba carries it), Shane, in navy blue "Shane O Mac" jersey, and BookerT, in white hot-crotch, flamin "Booker T" undies. Oh, and it's a tables match. Mike Chioda looks plumper, in those black/white stripes. There's a lull in the action, so AdBreak gets a run-in. After, there is much hot action. Trash can spots, including Shane going corner to corner. Here's Spike to interfere and take a bump. Booker bookends Conway through the table. A good match.

Hey, FOOTAGE! from the weekend's house shows. So THAT'S why they had cameras handy for Test's injury.

In the back, Rosie's still trapped. Just turn sideways! In the ring, the faces still celebrate. So Coach, in black tshirt, slacks, and backwards cap, is out. And Coach brings with him FOOTAGE! of the limo, again. So Shane has Coach "escorted" from the ring so HE can conduct the interview with Kane, "live via satellite". BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. Hooray - it's just like a bad horror movie (in that I'm totally unable to suspend disbelief). What a wooden doctor.
Counting the horizon/To see a puff of smoke/Indians on the warpath/Or not

Lita, in black winged "Lita" tanktop, green shorts with black pockets, red armwrap (left) and black armwrap (right), Ivory, in blue bodysuit with gold suns on the legs, and Trish, in purple sparkly trenchcoat and blakc outfit with pink trim, vs. Gail, in black slitted coat, white top and shorts, Victoria, in black latex with strappy goodness, with Stevie, in pink, and Molly, in black with cyan trim, wearing the Women's Title. Trish rolls-up Victoria for a pin. An average match. Too bad the crowd was silent. Post-match Stevie and Victoria beatdown Trish, but Jericho makes the save. (ooo, "The New anti-Americans", anyone? Or does he just want to give-out some Vitamin C?)

Let's see whe whole Austin/Steiner/Stacie segment, again. In the back, Jericho talks-down Austin, for the whole woman-beating thing. Hey, it's John Heidenreich again. Man, can ANYBODY get backstage at these events? (And what's up with "little Johnnie"?) Oh, and Rosie is still stuck. Damnit, just TURN SIDEWAYS! AND, in the Evolution room, the heel team confers. Ooo - a mystery about the attacks.

Mark Henry, with Long, and Evolution, Flair in blue "Nature Boy" robe with silver sequins, black undies and purple boots underneath, Randy in black "Orton" undies with purple hip bolts (as always, doing the Apollo pose), vs. Shawn, in black/white leather vest and chaps, with black/white tights with sundered red hearts thereunder, and Goldberg, in black/white barbedwire butt undies, wearing the Heavyweight Title. Jackhammer and pin on Henry. An average match, but not enough time. Post-match, Shawn superkicks Goldberg. Bischoff arrives to book a match for next week - Shawn vs. Goldberg for the Title.

Overall: A nice, entertaining show (except for the incessant use of FOOTAGE! of the limo, and the "live via satellite" bit). And, yes, I pretty much tuned-out the announcers.

Really, what would it take for people to boo Austin? He beats women, jokes about it, and then goes off to drink. For this, the people cheer him. Meanwhile, Steiner does exactly what he did when he was a face, EXCEPT he treats Stacie like crap (never actually striking her), but he gets booed. Stupid people.

My name is Ted/And one day I'll be dead/Yo yo

Edit: The typos are coming to get me! Well, at least they were.

I got it! Have Austin beat JR in Oklahoma! It worked before during the Power Trip angle! And if memory serves me, an angry Okie fan even threw a soda can at him!

He's just Stunnered the wrong Diva thats all. He'd get booed if he's Stunnered the just returned Lita. Remember that worked before too, when he and HHH attacked the Hardys and Austin destroyed Lita with a chair. So could work now.

The only thing I can figure out about the crowd tonight was to wonder if WWE handed out free beer before the show, especially after the huge pop for Stacy's stunner.

I popped as loud as the crowd did for Booker T's intro. The tag team tables match was very much worth the bother. Everything Jericho was involved in ruled, except maybe the Trish thing, and even then I say MAYBE.

The main was pretty good. Flair got some SERIOUS air there. It's just amazing what he can take at his age, and nobody touches his promo work. He's STILL the man.

The random attacks on Goldberg, however, were pretty silly. Another car?!? A box of falling stuff?!? Tommy Dreamer?!?

What exactly is the point in remaking the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, let alone allowing Michael Bay to do it?

This just in...Kane's still a monster. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Where in the WORLD did they find an actual phone booth?

If Mark Henry never wears white again, I’ll be a happy man. Oh yes…I might also suggest a jock strap. Obviously, there’s not a lot there, but still.

A nice turnaround from last week's show.

I'm not going to complain...they finally produced a fairly entertaining show this week. No production difficulties...give it next week for it all to fall appart again. Had to work or would have been in Wheeling last night only about a 2:30hr drive for me. Anyways, Austin the Anti-Hero still lives. Stunner Stacy! Boo Scott and cheer Austin...Love it. Ehh...on a five star frog splash I give the show four stars.

Random Raw Thoughts:

Best RAW in a LONG time, IMHO....The opening segment to set up the tables match was a nice touch. Did they ever mention where Grenier was?....I thought RVD v.s Steiner would be a train wreck. Not as terrible as I thought. The Austin/Steiner thing was fun, and I laughed my ass off at the Stacy stunner. I figured he'd either end up stunning her, or getting a box/glass of wine from ringside and letting her drink that instead....Who the hell is that new ring announcer? Not complaining, though he looks to be about 20....I was wondering why I didn't read anything about the Flair injury.....Maven v.s Rico was passable....I'm not a big fan of the S.H.I.T angle, but tonight's was pretty funny....The Goldberg/Michaels interview segment was good, setting up that Goldberg can't trust anyone. And they got Dreamer on TV....

The eight-man table match was surprisingly long (and good). I yearn for the days of the traditional Survivor Series matches, like this one, only elimination. I thought every team member had to go through the tables? At least the right guy lost (Conway)....Nice touch showing footage of house shows....Even the Kane/Shane hospital segment was okay by me. I must be in a good mood tonight....The chick tag match was fine, with less missed moves than I expected. The first thing I thought of with Jericho helping Trish was that she was Canadian....John Heidenreich? Little Johnny? Oh boy....Austin's reactions backstage in that segment were awesome....The M.E. was decent, and no, I don't think that was a jackhammer. Real good show, set up some nice stuff for the coming weeks. If they decide to follow up.

So, uh, why is it ok to beat Stacy up if she doesn't like beer, but it's not ok to if she costs you a couple of matches?

Raw sucked it long and sucked it hard. And then came back for more.

You've gotta' love how when Scott Steiner attacks Stacy, JR is all "Oh that son of a bitch! How could he attack a woman? He deserves to burn in hell!!!". But, when Austin does it it's just "Oh that fun-loving, un-predictable rattlesnake. You never know what that crazy little rascal's gonna' do next!"

Hey, remember when RVD was feuding with Kane? And feuding with Jericho? And doing the Van Terminator? I guess Shane McMahon is the version of RVD that actually gets pushed, or something.

I hope RAW opens with a long shot of Rosey still screaming to get out of the phone booth next week. I mean, really, why the hell didn't anyone just let the poor guy out? People working backstage at RAW are pretty anal, aren't they? Probably because they all know they'll be out of a job in a few years.

I thought Raw was horrible tonight, at least what I saw flipping between it and the Sox game (fuck the Yankees). Not a single good match, and what was up with the overabundance of clusterfuck matches? 5-man tag? 8-man tag? 6-female tag? What the hell? What happened to having some passable singles matches? And no, matches that involve Maven or Steiner do not count as passable, especially not tonight.

The only thing that drew my interest was when Kane was fucking people up in the hospital. If he doesn't crush the life out of Shane, I'm going to be so riled. The stunner to Stacy was cool, too, but I'm really just sick of Austin. Maybe my interest will be sparked again if he turns heel.

I thought Raw sucked, but I guess I'm in the minority. The Red Sox game was much better.

Best Raw in months, I'd say, at least angle-wise. Wrestling-wise, it was a schmozzfest, but at least they were entertaining schmozzes. And I'm actually curious about where they're going with some of these angles, particularly the Austin/Jericho feud. And Rosey in the phone booth was actually funny, for a change.

Plus, Lawler got out his one good line of the month: wondering who was looking after the briefcase with the $100,000 during the Evolution match.

I'd complain about how RVD was wasted in a three-minute special with Steiner that was meant entirely to set up the Steiner/Austin/Stacy bit ... but they've already established with Christian that they aren't particularly interested in pushing the IC champion, so why expect it to be different with RVD?

On the other hand, how much harder could Shane have been pushed? I bet everyone backstage is wishing they'd broken Test's foot so they could get the same treatment, eh?

I was kinda hoping they'd give Maven an interview where he re-challenged Flair once he'd healed up, or even had him point and glare at Flair on his way down the ramp ... if they're going to push him, they ought to give his character a little fire to it instead of just having him be Generic Babyface.

"I do have a degree in electrical engineering... from almost 20 years ago. Punchcard systems were just becoming obsolete, we had rotary phones in the dorms, and a modem was still a gizmo the size of a shoebox into which you squooshed the phone receiver itself. In short, we lived like animals.

The instant obsolesence is why I became a writer. The rate of punctuation in a sentence doesn't double every 18 friggin' months, and you never have some 22-year-old looming over your shoulder, shaking his head, saying "dude... you're still using adverbs...?"

He did give Flair a glare as he was walking past him.....

It may have just been the awesome tables match, but I really really liked this show. Nearly everything clicked for once, barring the whole Austin/Stacy thing, which I just did not get at all.....would have made more sense if, like the last time Austin did something like that, JR sold it like it was actually something NOT GOOD.....

I was there, so I guess I'll pass along a few live notes.

Nothing of interest in dark matches/Heat tapings. (Especially because the taped Heat will only be playing in Europe thanks to the Smackdown PPV pre-show on Sunday.) Nick Dinsmore fought a dark match and looked decent if nothing special, but I was the only person around who seemed to know who he was.

Before the show, after the now-obligatory Lonely Road Of Faith video (which I wish they would stop editing, although it does still give me goosebumps, and gave Pittsburgh a chance to pop for Kurt Angle), they showed an awesome Wrestlemania XX video which was very similar - full of clips from the first nineteen Wrestlemanias - first to the acoustic version of the Foo Fighters' "Times Like These" for the classic Hulkamnia era stuff, and then to some generic nu-metal song that I can't be bothered to remember what's called for the last few years worth of clips. It included the "what Wrestlemania means to me" clips from the Gamecube Wrestlemania commercial, and did a decent job of summing up the history pretty well. It could've used King Kong Bundy squashing a midget, but pretty much else deserving was included. Hopefully it finds it's way onto TV at some point.

The audience did cheer Austin after the Stacy stunner, but we were left in confusion after that. My section was reasonably sure we saw a Stone Cold heel turn all night. I should've figured it was played off as "that awesome Stone Cold" from the hillbilly and the pedophile, though. (I was still trying to deal with the irony of having *Austin* come out outraged that Steiner was going to hit a woman. Gimmick infrigement, I guess. Wife-beating pussy.)

Goldberg was amazingly not over. The crowd popped for him - but no louder than for, say, Val Venis on the Heat tapings, and I swear I heard as many boos as "Gooooldberg" chants.

The women were also suprisingly not over. There was a huge pop for Lita and then... nothing. Even Trish was greeted with general apathy. (I did give Molly a one-man standing ovation, but that doesn't really count for anything.)

Ric Flair, on the other hand, was over like mad all night. I can't remember Ric Flair ever being on a WWF card in Pittsburgh before. I may be wrong, but I don't think I've ever seen him live before. We popped huge when they put him in the main after he weaseled out of the Maven match.

Between the tables match and the Kane segment (with a Real Doctor~!), the Dudleyz persuaded Booker T to bust out a Spin-A-Rooni for the live crowd. This led to a Shane-O-Rooni and a Bubba-Rooni. (Shane can do a mighty fine spin-a-rooni. Bubba Ray can not.) I don't think we saw the second Rosey clip during this, but we may not have been paying attention.

How did the announcers play Jericho saving Trish? Again, we eventually seemed to decide we saw a Jericho face turn, but it's still not clear. I tried to start a Y2J chant, but had no sucess.

There was a small "We Want Shark-Boy" chant before the show, however.

There also was a H-B-K chant after the show, but it didn't get started until right after the cameras started rolling. I don't know how it played on TV, but the crowd was totally behind Michaels when he turned on Goldberg.

Hey, isn't Stacy a WWE superstar? And she didn't touch Stone Cold, did she? Please tell me someone on the show at least noticed that.

All in all, it may just be because I was there, but I thought this was the best RAW in months. There was not a slow segment, and I can't wait to see next week.

Steiner tossed Stacy into Austin when trying to escape. I guess that's "being provoked". Hey, they're nothing if not consistent (on this point, anyway).

"If you're wowed by the prescience of 1993's Demolition Man-which mentions a President Arnold Schwarzenegger-consider this: The Chicago Cubs are now facing the Miami-based Florida Marlins in the baseball playoffs-much like an utterly far-out scenario predicted in 1989's Back to the Future Part II, which had the Cubs winning the World Series over "Miami". Well you know something, Mean Gene...
If attacking a woman for not liking beer gets a positive crowd response, no wonder people think most wrestling fans are brain-dead hicks.

The rest of the show was the usual tripe you expect from Raw these days.

I normally could care less about Stacy being attacked but it really pisses me off how Austin could come out preaching to Steiner against attacking women only to do it himself a few minutes later. Even with the so-called provoked attack, Stacy as a small helpless woman didn't deliberately provoke him. It was fucking stupid. I don't like beer, will Austin stun me? Are we supposed to cheer a guy for being a hypocritical baboon?
The pop for it I can't say is surprising, and yes I think they would pop Austin stunning Lita as well..as long as he's pushed as a face. They booed it last time because he was heel.
