Quick thoughts:

I don't mind watching Steph on my TV screen....just as long as she is presented in small limited doses.

For having fake breasts, Steph's boobs sure don't hang like fake breasts. She looks like she just has big real sagging boobs. I know their probably saline instead of silicon, but still.

I still get that uncomfortable sad feeling when Rob Conway comes out to almost dead silence.

Maybe part of the reason Doink wrestled so shitty was because he was spending most of the match trying to keep his wig from coming off.

Absolutely loved the Triple-H backstage walkthrough.

I got the impression that Triple-H was basically shitting all over the Intercontinental belt by saying that Ric Flair was happy settling for mediocrity.

Loved the Trish/Victoria match. Not sure if I'm really thrilled over Micky J getting started off with a stalker gimmick......but I'll wait and see what happens.

Great to see Cena get a little R-rated. Very good segment. BTW....does Edge ever sell whenever he's being insulted ? He never seems to get mad and make a pissed off face like a heel normally would/should. He just always grins and just gives a look that says "whatever" and that he could care less what was just said to him. Shouldn't that be the reaction of a face and not a heel ? Even Triple-H gets pissed off whenever a disparaging remark is thrown his way.

I was kinda surprised seeing Cena get pinned clean by Angle, but I had no problem with it.

I thought that since Vince got turned down by that announcer who was to be JR's replacement, that they were going to cover their asses and end the show on that really lame "the audience is fired" rant.

I admit that I never saw the Linda heel swerve coming. I at first thought she was going to turn away from JR at the last second and somehow fire Vince and Steph. Then when she actually did fire JR, I figured she was just firing him from his announcers job so that she could tell him that he was being rehired for some sort of higher position in the company. It wasn't until the nut shot that I actually said "holy shit".

So is Shane the "nice McMahon" now ?

Overall, a very enjoyable RAW.

Kevintripod touched on the most disturbing part of the night for me anyway...

The way HHHgH went on and on about how the Intercontinental belt was simply "mediocrity" and how nobody should take pride in the belt, especially a big time player like Flair, is really just a small showing of a BIG problem in the WWE. They don't do anything to get the "other" titles over, which generally means lesss interest from fans on any feud besides one involving shoot internet fighting or the World Title.

BTW WWE, more interest in a card = better buyrates, since you are so concerned.

Oh Boy! Tori/Sable *again*! Victoria did a great job looking vicious, though. I kept praying for her to hit the Widow's Peak.

I couldn't help but think during the main event interview that this was certainly fitting for JR to go out on. Considering the business he's in, what more can you ask for than to get a total McMahon drumming out - almost like a badge of honor. Especially to be on the receving end of a Linda McMahon heel turn.

Shawn Michaels was gold during the Cabana, just lounging and enjoying his pina colada.

I thought the Triple H stuff was fantastic, particularly getting the cold shoulder from everyone backstage (and the foreshadowing of an eventual feud with Cena). And instead of making his "turn" on Flair seem like the same old, same old, they're actually going somewhere with this.

The six-man was fun, but it never really illustrated that Michaels and Show also want the world title shot. I mean, wouldn't there at least be some uneasiness there in teaming with Cena?

If that was actually JR's final show (and I'm still skeptical), what a ridiculous way to go out. To set up for a, uh, Linda McMahon heel turn? The guy simply deserves better, and hopefully, Austin will fix this the next time he's on television, even if it means that JR is still gone at the end of the day.

This was a show I pretty much skipped. There was an MNF game on (two teams I don't even care about), some Nazi/prophecy stuff, followed a Roman military show on History, an interview with Arnold on Fox News, and DBZ on Cartoon Network.

The worst thing: I didn't feel bad about missing wrestling. If they're gonna continue to revive McMahon-centric shows, I'm gonna continue watching television that doesn't make me feel dumb.

Does this mean I can't watch any other promotions for 90 days?

Tuned in 1/2 way through the 6-man match (taped everything before that), and from what I saw it looked like a fun match.

The whole firing segment was just horrible, though. I hope this doesn't start up McMahonamania on TV again, because the shows were just fine without any of them anywhere near a TV camera. Especially Steph. Take your screechy-voice & terrible boob job off my TV, and concentrate on being a failure as head of creative. It's bad enough your husband is back to dominate the show (hey, there's another guy I was perfectly happy not having on my TV), now I've got to deal w/ you, too? Last week was too much TV time for you. The USA Era 2: Electric Boogaloo isn't off to a promising start.

And getting back to JR - they couldn't let him take his leave from in front of the camera w/ some dignity? The guy's been the voice of the company for years now, and arguably 1 of the better wrestling announcers ever, and this is how you write him off the air? They couldn't have him come out, do a little speech thanking the fans, and saying how he felt he needed to finally step away from his announcing duties, and go out to a standing "o"? No, that'd be the classy thing to do. Can't have that. Gotta use the segment to put the McMahons over as heels. And not only that, but whomever they get to replace JR will most likely be wildly unpopular due to how JR was written off the show.

More (maybe) after I watch the rest of the show.

Maybe we'll get an Elimination Chamber match out of the 6 man battle for the WWE title ?

Raw will never be the same again without JR. No slobberknockers or hell fire and brimstone in more ways than one.

Vince probably reminded JR that there could always be a possible dvd release titled "The Self Destruction Of Good Ole JR" somewhere down the road if JR wasn't up to being a team player.

The WWE didn't even try to make me turn away from Yankees-Angels or Steelers-Chargers for the last half hour. A six-man tag match? An interminable McMahonathon? How much time are they willing to concede? Why in God's name do they think we want to reset the clock back to the previous USA run? We've seen it already. Again and again. Bleh, ptui.

The good points: Another great effort by Trish and Victoria. As much as I complained about the dismissal of the other female wrestlers, if it leads to constant Trish-Victoria feuds, I'm now not too upset over that. They are stealing the spotlight and shaming the other performers. Notice JR tried his best not say "Walls of Jericho" when Victoria stretched Trish. And her reversal of the head-scissors into a Boston crab should have ended the match. I love these two performers.

Hunter was three shades of awesome tonight, but his hair and beard continue to give me a Spinal Tap vibe. Ruins the solemnity.

I like the Conway push, and I hope they bring out VADER to kill him dead.

Hadn't they already decided to use her real name back when they already had an Alexis around (one of those Divasearch leftovers)? Guess it's just inertia.

After JR's humiliation on TV this week, I'm now officially sick of WWE Raw.

If they're going to give JR a new job, at least let him go out in STYLE! Come on...he's a loyal company man!

After today, I'm sticking to WWE Smackdown. If i thought the Flair beatdown/massacre by Trips wasn't the breaking point, it was the return of Trips and his boring monologues AND the JR situation that did it.

See, I would love for this to become part of an angle. I know I'm watching wrestling, but don't insult my intellingence any further. It might be halfway interesting for someone to throw out a lawsuit. Bad thing is, you'd just end up with more McMahons on TV or another crappy owner/commissioner/GM angle. I've already had my quota of McMahon family on TV for the next 12 months. Sadly though I'm already a viewer and they're trying to get people who enjoy that crap to watch as well, assuming that I and other fans will stay. I will, but I'll just FF through the McMahon show.

I hadn't read about JR, but I saw it coming when they were called down and "knew" that Linda was going to swerve at

I'll give you the JR point, but if you thought that Hunter promo was boring I gots no time for ya.

Am I the only one thinking that Shane's gonna end up as a face here? He wasn't present at the end, right?

I’ve avoided the dirt sheets on the whole JR thing, so the whole thing actually caught me by surprise.

Didn’t make Stephanie any more tolerable, though.

I was underwhelmed with the promo HHH cut on Flair. It actually seemed to be a variation on the one he cut on Batista less than a year ago. In the Batista one, he even made the same comments on how he rebuilt the man (at the time, Batista) and brought him to his level, as well as the "Put him down" aspect of the promo.

I agree with you, and think that SCSA and Shane will bring JR back in some capacity. They didn't get Goldberg and I think they're going to find our really fast how bad Coachman is alone with Lawler. Unless they bring in Joey Styles or Vinnie steps back behind the mike, they're going to need something. BTW, I love VKM behind the mike myself. I wonder if he's still got it? Bisch was pretty good too, IMO.

But which would The Ws prefer: Shane as a manager/voicebox or Shane as a wrestler? I vote for the latter out of habit, but if he were to help elevate Shelton against a potential Evil McMahon Trinity stable -- let's say Masters, Edge, Lita and Cade/Murdoch -- I'd be all over that.

I think you're all INSANE for trying to find ways to get SHANE back on television. "Oh boy, my arms are on fire and it really hurts. This situation is not good. If we're gonna be pummeled with McMahon TV, they can at least give us the most entertaining of them. If it's just These Three, I'm turning the channel. I can always watch some more West Wing on Bravo.

I would define Steffo's new character as a combination of the "Billion Dollar Princess" and the "Smackdown GM" characters, without her screeching. I also laughed at her "bigger balls" comment.

I was surprised at the Linda turn.
