From Montreal, QC.

For a show that had a very thrown-together-at-the-last-moment feel, this actually had quite a few great moments. But let's talk about the awesome crowd first, they were electric throughout, and elevated some otherwise pedestrian stuff to a higher level. Speaking of pedestrian, the opening segment that set up the Teddy Long Special between Reigns/Lashley/Braun and the Tres Canadiens was a total schmozz. Poor Roman can't stop making excuses for his repeated failures, which makes him look not only like a chump, but a chump who's bordering on also being a conspiracy theorist. You can't even blame Montreal for booing him out of the building every chance they got. There's also no logical reason for Braun to help Roman, ever. Remember how they were almost literally murdering each other a few months ago? WWE doesn't. The match that spawned from this was thoroughly entertaining, even if the crowd didn't care about Lashley at all. Braun running over KO is fun, though the E stupidly had him pin Owens and get booed. Sami and KO are far too entertaining in general, and especially in their hometown, to be booed, and management really should be more aware of that.

Seth "Monday Night" Rollins has been on fire and really living up to that moniker lately, and Montreal showered him with adoration for his efforts. Grinny Finn wanted some of that action, and two ended the show with a spectacular match, a solid **** affair that belonged on a major PPV. Finn kept showing signs of dickery, and there was no faces-of-the-world unite moment to close out the show, just Rollins celebrating a hard-earned win.

Ruby Riott and Sasha Banks got a lot of time to shine, and the ladies put on a solid match to earn praise from the crowd. Ruby looked very good in her (albeit tainted) win, and Sasha is Sasha. The story was that the Riott Squad, a cohesive unit, used their numbers advantage at every stage, while Sasha, though a superior singles competitor, suffered from having alienated her one friend. The other long match of the night went to Elias and Bobby Roode, and Elias apparently crushed Bobby's throat to get a countout victory. This looked like they wanted to double down on sympathetic Bobby Roode being wronged by dastardly Elias, and maybe that's not the way to go.

Kudos to everyone who called that Titus would get more exposure and work in some more slipping shenanigans, give yourself a pat on the back. The commentary team even worked in "Titus WorldSlide." Baron Corbin (who else) played party pooper, and made logical points, but logic is never a good trait to have in the WWE, and Titus got his revenge (unwittingly) by costing the Lone Wolf a match with No Way Jose. I agree 100% with the Coach's assessment that NWJ is perfect for Titus Worldwide, though that puts a hard ceiling on how far he can go as a babyface.

In other news, The Authors of Pain murdered a pair of local jobbers, debuting the Super Collider on Raw in the process, Natalya squished Mickie James in a 3-minute match that also had Ronda Rousey at ringside, and Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler cut a promo from what looked like a hotel room.

Oh, and also, here's a Moment of Bliss (youtube.com). This is too funny and too good not to start getting cheers, and reminds me so much of the vastly underrated grooming tips with Dashing Cody Rhodes.

These two have such great chemistry but you can't really turn either of them currently so it just keeps staying an awesome face-face rivalry.

The Internet was very happy with this moment however:

I think the logic we need to consider is that Braun is probably the only guy on the roster that can be in a match in Canada with KO and\or Zayn and get cheered.

If they had let that GOLDEN opportunity get past them I don't think i'd watch Raw for another year or so.

Agreed.

This is brilliantly, perfectly wrong and knowingly off key. In addition to the Rhodes clips you mentioned, I think it reminds me a LOT of the early New Day promos where they were doing the whole 'heels but desperately trying to act like faces' thing.
