Great fucking ending. All of the build up paid off. THAT'S the way you build a feud. I loved the Horsemen/DX references by Triple H.

I somehow see "The Masterpiece" being taken under the wing of Triple H/Evolution (provided that there is an Evolution left now)

So-so show otherwise. You gotta make your bigger stars looker stronger going into the buildup to WM (Jericho, Kane, etc.)

Did someone forget to tell JR & King that Edge & Christian teamed up the night after Survivor Series?

Great ending, never expected Batista to actually attack Triple H, thought he'd sign and just do a staredown. Finally the ball is set rolling with HBK and Angle. Tag match was great, only wrestling highlight. Shelton has stepped it up i was impressed. WrestleMania is really taking shape.

That finish was just a mark out moment. And it seems to even go back to the Evolution turning Orton with the "thumbs down" which was excellent. And kudos for Theodore Long selling his brand solidly.

Otherwise I agree, so so show. I was more so mad they didn't mention that Edge and Christian are brothers.

God, what a shitty show. That said the ending segment was really great. I mean, seriously, think about how perfectly they pulled that turn off. Then remember how badly they mangled poor Randy's turn. Stupid creative.

Yeah, the Masterpiece isn't long for this show. Ouch.

I would of liked the tag match if it hadn't felt so completely disjointed at times. E and C did some decent work, but the faces were just there for the most part. Well that and Christian did like zero moves in the whole match, which was really bizarre.

FINISH THE JOB SHELTON! FINISH THE JOOOOBBBB!

That ending was the best built angle in a long time and it paid off really well. It's amazing how a few months ago Batista was seen as the weak-link of Evolution, and now he's as over as he is. Hell, I hated Batista when they first started pushing him in late-2002, and now I'm marking out for him as much as anyone.

Was I the only one who, when Chris Masters got out of the limo, thought it was just a clean-shaven Batista? That's what happens when everyone looks the same (muscular guys with the same haircut). You can't even tell a main-event guy apart from the rest of the roster.

I don't know why, but, even though I know it's offensive to some, I am totally digging the Hassan character. I think it might be Daivari, who is GREAT in his role.

I know we're still 6 weeks out, so they have plenty of time to build, but, aside from the main-events, I have absolutely no idea where they are going with the rest of the card for the show. Guys like Benoit, Jericho, Edge, Christian, Orton, Booker T, Kane, Eddie Guerrero (assuming he doesn't turn heel)... they're all question marks.

EDIT: Oh, speaking of the uncertainty at WrestleMania, I wonder where they are going with the Women's Title. I'm hoping they build up Trish v. Victoria, but I feat it'll be Trish v. Christy instead.

Shoot, there's like two threads to this RAW... uh, I'll take this one!

The ending was great and finally sealed the deal on HHH/Batista. It ended the right way (Batista does the turn, not HHH) and the conveniently placed table is used to add more impact to the powerbomb of DOOM!

The GMs were good in selling their brands, especially Long who made SD *sound* better than it really is lately. I've heard HHH rambling throughout the show often and over the last few weeks that I simply could not stand the ramblings anymore. I applaud Batista for being able to *stay awake* when he overheard the confession speech by HHH to Flair.

Shelton's chair shot woke up the crowd some, and I hope this leads to a new edge in his character where he'll use whatever means are brought to him. I almost chanted ECW, but I know better.

Speaking of ECW, nice to see Stevie Richards again. Too bad he did little to aid the crowd in doing anything to react to the squash by Chris Masters. That match got the reaction it deserved.

Benoit and Jericho will be off against Hassan and Davari I guess. Sucks to see Benoit go from World Champ to fodder in a year, but at least Benoit's got somewhere to go now.

Kane/Tomko? Eh.

Tag match was fair enough near the end, and plenty of E&C moments were relived. I wished HBK took the con-chair-to like a man, but I guess that's asking much out of him anywho. I hope to - uh, anyone - that Angle interferes in Edge/HBK next week.

I wish Edge were champion now... I'm not bitter!

Overall? Looks like they're drifiting to WM21.

The opening women's contest was pretty good, considering we've seen it 1,045 times....The Trish/Christy "feud" wouldn't be bad if Christy could wrestle....Jericho/Dean was a spot below average. The Simon gimmick is a joke, and WWE isn't even trying to make it work....Kane/Tomko was predictably ugly in some spots....Nice suit by Daivari....The tag match was pretty decent, with some flashbacks to the classic E&C tag team....The Shelton/Snitsky match was just there.

Usual debut squash for Masters, capped with a Warlord-like finisher. I noticed on the replay package that they showed his entrance in slo-mo last, just like they used to do on the Saturday morning shows....The backstage thing with Batista listening was pretty good, and I'm not even gonna mention the camera being RIGHT THERE as he talked (oops, I did), because it's evident WWE doesn't care....The final segment was VERY well done. It was a one-note show, and WWE didn't even try to make us think otherwise.

I guess Snitsky will be facing Shelton for the I-C Title in some form at Mania.
Kane has now entered Jimmy Valiant late in his career territory. The fans cheer him, but he really has no purpose and is just there.
After the Michaels speech to Orton, I was expecting Orton to sneak down to the ring at the end of the show and use the "HBK Precedent" to sign his name to the SD Contract. Orton vs. Bradshaw vs. Cena: What a clusterfuck that would have been.
Wow, a full nelson by the Masterpiece. If they keep running him out there on RAW, I might be flipping over to PBS to find Masterpiece Theater rather than watching him. And, when Luger did this gimmick a dozen years ago, at least he had Heenan.
I vehemently have to disagree with Trip's 1986 Horsemen assertion. Though a huge Arn Anderson fan, I couldn't envision him being WWF Champ in 1986. True, he could beat Hogan anyday of the week, and twice on Sunday, but '86 wasn't the time for the Double A World Title run. Rather, Tully Blanchard as the #2 in the Horsemen at the time would have been the one to knock off Hogan with a slingshot suplex at the 48 second mark.
At least it appeared during Long's speech that the Pavlovian response to two names from the past weren't as loud as they used to be. Hopefully, this is a sign they will continue to move forward rather than lunging for a crutch.
About time someone decided to stand outside a door while super-secret evil plan #25345 was discussed. And, at least they had continuity from when Batista dropped Orton on his head with the thumbs down signal.
From World Title build-up to facing evil foreign heel in less than a year for Benoit. On the bright side, if they hadn't dumped the Hirohito plan in the summer, Benoit would have been stuck in this situation 8 months ago.

One of the classics, Triple H and Stone Cold for the 3 stages from hell match in 2001.

Sorry for the double thread, im sure the powers that be will fix it.

I'm told tonight that Helmsley is no longer Serena's favorite wrestler and Batista has wormed his way into her heart.

After destroying JBL's cabinet(sp?) last night and taking out HHH and Flair tonight, I'm told that (Quote!) "Batista makes me feel warm and gushie inside." (Unquote!) What's a guy to do, huh?

Anyways, I thought tonight's RAW was pretty good... we got Stevie Richards which was great, we got Shelton Benjamin 'possibly' taking himself to the next level, we got Edge & Christian reunited (to which both of us marked out for!!!), and we got Batista foregoing that triple threat crap for a 1-on-1 match with Helmsley which allows at least one decent Wrestlemania main event. Over all, this was a good Raw setting up the next pay-per-view.

Seriously, given that this of all storylines probably have had the most amount of time and thought given to it, the best they could do is use the magic invisible cameraman? Give me a fucking break. NOT TO MENTION Triple H giving up that he was behind the clips AND the limousine...BEFORE the contract's been signed? Give me a fucking break TWICE.

"pretty good" is MILES from my evaluation of this segment. I may be the only person watching who can't forgive this kinda crap, as I'm apparently the only one for whom Batista powerbombing Triple H through a table didn't cast some kind of magic amnesia spell that erased that shitty, stinky, non-logic-based segment from memory.

Thing is, they've done this thing with the camera SO many times before, it still bothers me, but not as much as it once did. I've come to terms with the fact that they're going to keep doing this, no matter how ridiculous it is.

Sorry. I know it's one of your most peevest pets, but the on-camera plot reveal comes with the territory and is irrelevant, to me, to the execution of the angle itself by the performers in the final segment, which I loved and got a giant reaction from people who forgave Invisible Camera and were, in fact, delighted to be sharing a secret with their man, David Batista. I could've and would've done without the backstage skit, but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the important part.

They were definitely dealing with the nose area. I wonder if he broke it.

Yeah, Bishoff fired the guy doing it when it caught him saying something important. Go back even farther to GDTV or what became GTV. Where are these thing when we REALLY REALLY need them. Anyways, to the show...

Continuity rules GO BATISTA! Ok, it was a one hit show. Most matches we're ok but not a really good level except for the HBK/Orton vs Edge/Chritian. I thought it was good. Felt like it took forever to HHH to stop rambling. My guess that is that the it's a three and half star show.

I smell HEAT REMATCH every other week until they let go of Masters.

And Stevie will job for him every step of the way.

What is it with throwing Richards at every green roid-monster?

And did I hear J.R. say that Masters is 22 years-old? No fucking way.

What? No Maven?

After the masterful culmination of Batista's face turn at the end of the show, my favorite moment of the night was...

Watching two guys who aren't Arabs, but who are pretending to be Arabs, beat up on a French Canadian guy who's pretending to be an American. Who says wrestling's fake? And how long has Benoit been an "18 year veteran"? It has to be at least 2 years now.

I think the Masterpiece really botched his Polish hammer and broke Stevie's nose. Nice work.
