Edit in: Yeah I know I spelled disease wrong, hate when that happens in a title. But it kinda goes into their entrance theme especially seeng the ratings
December 15, Raw Rating
1pops -This week's edition of Raw did a 3.5 cable rating, with a five share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is down from last week's 3.8 and is not a good number for the day after a PPV. The show did hours of 3.3 and 3.7. The highest rated segment on the show was the 4.6 that they did for the overrun-
So ratings this week did a 3.5 with hours of (3.3, 3.7) down from last weeks 3.8 (3.5,4.1)... Some (well Meltzer) called this a disappointment for Foley. I'm sorry I don't buy that, the second hour was set up for his return and there was a better then average 2nd hour spike for it. The problem was people didn't tune in after the happenings in the PPV. What's the big story coming from the PPV. Yup HHH being World Champion again. It's a normal pattern of disinterest when this guy becomes champion. It's beyond smark talk along time ago. This guy is just repetitive now, the average fan won't tune in to see HHH holding the title and doing his same old schtick and it once again shows in the drop of ratings and disinterest to see what the new champ has to say and do.
**MNF had a huge week this week having a rating of 11.6 from 9-11 (up from last weeks also high 10.4)... The half hour breakdowns were 9-9:30= 11.4.. 9:30-10PM= 12.5.. 10-10:30= 12.1.. 10:30-11PM= 10.5. Last week 4 half hour breakdowns were (10.9, 10.9, 10.4, 9.3)
December 18, Smackdown Rating
Dec 18 WWE Smackdown did a 3.4 with half hours of (3.0, 3.5, 3.5, 3.6)... Which is down from last weeks 3.6 (3.4, 3.6, 3.6, 3.7)
Almost a mirror image of last week, except for the first half hour. Which had me wondering what could have taken a chunk out of that especially considering Survivor has ended... Did some searching and saw WB actually beat out UPN in the 8-8:30 timespot with "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". You know what? Perfectly acceptable for the Smackdown nation to choose The Grinch over BigShow/Jordan and Team Lesner chatter.
(edited by Net Hack Slasher on 19.12.03 1622) Christmas is the one time of year when people of all religions come together to worship Jesus Christ. - Bart Simpson
Another thing to remember is that a good amount of people in the WWE's target market are traveling, studying for finals, or preparing to do one or both. I know that if I were not such a big fan (and if I didn't have a column to write), I could easily have skipped both programs this week to write papers. I'm not surprised that there was a ratings dip, and I wouldn't expect it to come back up until the middle of January.
Wisconsin Badgers: 7-5 (Still waiting for bowl week...weee.)
Minnesota Vikings: 8-6 (Oh, come on. Seriously. We'd better beat Kansas City next week. Somebody put Moss' cellphone in the endzone.)

That was Sunday Morning. By Monday night, most people had learned of the story. RAW ratings is in its normal range, and if it wasn't for the Katie Vick fiasco costing RAW significantly last year (with apologies to Kevin Kelly's wife), RAW would be a stagnant rating from last year to this year at this time. The break the WWF/E will get is they should be able to do a build-up to Mania without a war starting the week before Mania. We learn about the future of the WWF/E from January 5th through March 22nd of 2004.
I agree what Slasher is saying about how average fan doesn't care if HHH holds the belt. Like I said many times before I don't hate HHH, but I don't care for him either. There no need for him to have the belt and it is makeing the belt look unimportant. I know I spend more time flipping to other shows (Las Vagus good show, watch it.) then watching Raw or Smakdown.
Great Muta is a wrestling GOD!! praise the Great Muta.
