Although details are still sketchy at this time, PWInsider.com has learned that World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended Randy Orton for 60 days. I'm not yet sure of the reason, but I hope to have more on this story later today.
5:40 PM Update: WWE issued a text message via their mobile service confirming the story, citing that Orton had been suspended for "unprofessional conduct."
It should be interesting to see what WWE does at tonight's Smackdown taping as Orton had been advertised in the main event, challenging WWE World champion Rey Mysterio.

I'm guessing they'll have some excuse for not having the match, as it'd be pointless to make the announcement and then have him show up on SmackDown anyways.
This could be REAL bad for Orton. He's the top heel on SmackDown, and now he's left that brand in a lurch. I'm sure Vince is thrilled with that one.
They should be happy they've got a champ like Rey in place, who can plausibly fight pretty much anyyone on the roster and make a compelling story out of it.
And yeah, he must've REALLY fucked up if they've pull him out of the post-WrestleMania mix over it. I'm thinking would-have-gotten-95%-of-other-wrestlers-fired kinda behaviour here.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

But it'll probably get turned into a storyline sooner than later.
I'd wager they'll play off the WM faceoff and have it be implied that Batista took him out after Wrestlemania in the parking lot or something like that.
C'mon, CRZ, can't I start a rumor that Randy was suspended for saying that the triple-threat match should've been given ten more minutes and the lingerie pillow fight should've been cut, along with the HHH vs. Cena entrances?
After allegedly committing sexual harrassment and shitting in someone's bag without so much as a disparaging word from WWE for all we know, my guess is Orton must have done something really bad to warrant a two-month suspension!
Or maybe he did something along those lines and WWE finally said, "Enough."
But I won't speculate as to what that might be.

Are we to assume that this isn't a work? I immediately thought that this was just a way to keep the title on Rey without having to beat Orton again, which would make Orton look weak or something like that.
They're probably gonna leave it a coupla weeks so they can write in a storyline absence. It's a self-imposed punishment, so there's no reason to f' up their plans too badly if they don't have to.
