From pwinsider.com :

"WWE sources confirmed this morning that Randy Orton did suffer a legitimate concussion over the weekend during the company's international tour. "

So What does this mean for the World Tittle Match on Sunday? well they go on to say it will be a " Game of Day Decision" by the doctors if he will be able to work the match with Christian.

Dont say its not worth it, when you can sleep with no fear, that kind of time is worth any thing.- FFX

Well, it means they have to write two storylines: one if he's able to compete, one if he's not. They won't say anything about it being a gameday decision ... they'll just find out on Sunday if he can go and proceed down the appropriate road from there.

Sheamus/Christian seems the best replacement match.

TNA had the same concern with Anderson not long ago.

Sheamus and Christian are both heels now. Although you're right, this would logically be the best match. (Quite frankly, I think they should have turned Orton and not Christian, or left them both as faces who just dislike each other).

If you were to elevate a midcard face for this match -- if needed, of course -- Sin Cara or Ezekiel have the most momentum. Otherwise, you move over a RAW guy or dust off 'Taker (if he's answering his phone before January).

Speaking of answering the phone, what's Jericho doing now?

I don't think this is the kind of an emergency injury where they'll change title plans. Either he'll be cleared to do the match or they'll shoot an angle to postpone it and Teddy Long will be like "no playa" and Christian will be like "arg my life!"

Concussions can be tricky because you're not, in theory, allowed to just gut them out like you would another injury. Checking, Miz missed ten days as world champion after his Wrestlemania concussion, and you know they wanted to get him in the ring again as soon as possible.

I'm taking a wait-and-see approach to this injury, but it's looking like the E could potentially be kicking themselves for the Christian heel turn. If Orton's out for an extended period, SmackDown suddenly has no babyfaces to pick up the ball, unless they're going to try again with Kane or push Ezekiel Jackson and his bodyslams.

Maybe it's a one-month "whoops, jksies" heel turn like HBK vs. Hogan circa Summerslam 2005.

Why not pay off a whole season of TE and give Andy the shot (assuming Orton is out)? If Snookie can wrestle at their biggest show, why not an FCW guy vetted by Austin for a much much smaller show? All he has to do is eat a pin.

Well, Snookie was in the match that filled the throw-away slot of WM usually held by pillow case fights or Miller Light Girls match.

Smaller show or not, we're still talking about putting a guy in a main event match when most of the fans have only seen him get slapped by Vince and stunnered by Austin.

On the other hand, the WWE title match includes a guy who's main eventing his first WWE PPV. Give the kid his shot: He goes all house of fire, Christian goes all wily vet to take control, Andy simply won't stay down, he kicks out of one Killswitch, but a second out on the arena floor gives Christian his second WHC.

The obvious solution here, if Orton is unable to compete, is to use someone who has experience defending the World Heavyweight Championship despite never having held a title, someone who has history with Edge and, therefore indirectly, with Christian. And, as an added bonus, the only person that seems to fit this description also recently lost their storyline due to their opponent being unable to wrestle.

If Randy Orton is unable to defend his title, the obvious substitute is Kelly Kelly.

I don't know, man. Knowing her luck in long-term programs, she and Christian will start off hot... and then Christian will end up pregnant two weeks later and she'll be stuck without an opponent yet again.

That'd be the greatest storyline ever.

Because it's not like he's spent several weeks getting trained on a reality TV show or anything.

Going from winning Tough Enough to main-eventing a pay-per-view in such a short span is a colossally bad idea. Let the guy work his way up through FCW, for godsakes, to say nothing of the lower-midcard.

Doing cheerleader pyramids now counts as wrestling training?

I suppose if they ever had a match to run the ropes for 3 min straight, he'd have a chance. Be a crappy gimmick match though if you ask me.

It's a stupid arguement. To put it in perspective, Andy's gotten about as much training as Brock Lesnar had when he debuted in 2002. He signed in August 2010, trained at FCW, had a handful of matches, and then was "released" from his FCW deal so he could do Tough Enough.

No, it's not a good idea to have a guy who's never worked a TV match before in the main event of a PPV, but stop pretending like he's never seen a wrestling ring before and that Tough Enough was the documentation of his entire training. The only people who came in there who didn't have at least a year of experience were Rima and Jeremiah.

I have no idea how you would even tell if Randy had a concussion or not.

Haven't seen the whole show, just caught Jeff's match. I am pained to say that I am actually becoming a Jeff Hardy fan. Landing on his head like that, and then exorcising the demon almost immediately and hitting it was awesome. SHEER BALLS.
