This was a pleasant surprise that I ran into today.

YouTube - WWE All Stars Macho Man Madness

I guess Savage and WWE aren't on as bad terms like I previously thought. Having said that, he's still got it! His promos still sound like he's cracked out of his mind, but OOF, that gray beard is just depressing to look at. Come on, Savage, please "Just For Men" that baby, because I feel like I'm watching my grandfather after a can of Red Bull.

WWE All-Stars arrives on March 29 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Hell; I'd rather see Savage embracing his old age than trying to cover it up by coloring the beard.

And I agree about the promo- he's still the same ol' Macho Man. it's good to know some things don't change.

I almost want to sit on his lap and tell him what I want for Christmas. Oh yeah! Dig it!

Right! I much prefer Old Timer Savage rather than the shoe-polish black beard rapper we saw in the past few years.

That video rocked. Savage toes the line between awesome and batshit crazy whenever he does promos, and this did it perfectly.
The game looks fun, too. I like the cartoonish physics and slow-mo. I haven't played a WWE game since 2006 -- is that the norm now or it this game different?

Am I the only one who'd love to see Savage return as a commentator on Raw? I thought he was pretty good when he was doing it in 1993.

I gotta think THQ hired him, not WWE.

But that was awesome.

Make him the RAW GM (ladies and gentlemen, your MACHO MANAGER) and even I might tune in again.

Randy would make a great GM- he'd be over huge as a face (well, with a few video packages of his greatest moments) and he's still presumably great on the mic. GMs need to be big "characters" and he'd fit the bill just fine.

Great idea, and agreed completely. I bet that sort of idea could work for a myriad of former faces to help get them over with the current, younger crowd. You know, folks like Rikishi. ;)

Sort of, but c'mon man, Macho Man is way cooler than Rikishi! :)

Actually you have a point- between the two; I guess Rikishi would be more over with the crowd. sigh. Man, that's depressing.

This is a concept game and not a part of the main SD vs. Raw series. And it looks like a fun concept, for sure.

Maybe so, but you have to figure there's no way in hell Savage would be allowed to endorse a WWE-branded product without Vince's approval.

The promo was indeed awesome, but I think my favorite part was watching classic Macho run roughshod over guys like Kofi, Sheamus, and Triple H.

No, not at all. I am sadden/mad that this roster is being used for this game and not Legends of Wrestlemania that was released 2 years ago. If they got the rights to Steamboat and Savage now, they better release a second one to get them in there fast. How can a game be called Legends of Wrestlemania and not have one competer from a top 3 match of all time? This is nothing more than a In Your House wanna-be. I can't hide it, I did like the IYH games. But not now, not this roster for this game.

Considering the steroid issues, having these cartoony giant-muscled characters doesn't seem like a smart move.

So that thing about having PSN up by Tuesday? Not so much. I guess they have a few hours left if you're generous with time zones, but I guess they don't plan on keeping promises when they keep finding more problems. In other vital news:
