It's time for episode three of The Amazing (mothafuckin) Race III tonight! While there seems to be no obvious Gary/Dave or Frat Boys comic relief team this year, there is already an evil, I wish they'd die level team, the Guido-esque Wonder Twins, a team of twin brother models.
For those of you that don't really like Reality programming, this is probably the best reality show on TV. It's a really cool travelogue as well as a competition.
Other reality fare this week includes episode five of Survivor - Thailand, and the debut of The Ship, a Discovery Channel special where 40 people sail on a 18th Century ship living under the conditions of that time. Sounds interesting, much like 1900's House on PBS.
"Your solitude is welcome, welcome... Your attitude is welcome, welcome!"
But the previews show them getting tons of face time this week, which is awesome (I love that team).
There's really no "fiesty underdog team" this year, like Blaige were last year, but there are several teams that I just hate:
The old people because they're bitchy Most of the young boy/girl teams because they're annoying. The twins because they're God awful pretty boys (but good for them that they admitted that they're clueless. Heather and Eve for saying that they're "feminist chicks with brains" and then proving the dumb blonde female stereotypes on every leg of the race.
This is still one of the best shows on television.
In other notes:
-Gary and Dave were comic relief only to themselves. -The race seems pretty leisurely this year. Cauzumel, Cancun, London. What is this, a site seeing tour? (Not to mention some of the easy-ass challenges, I hope they get worse). -I'm still watching Survivor. Less interesting than last season, still more interesting than Africa.
Anyway, I hope they do another Race. I heared that CBS was fairly pleased with the early returns on this one, which is great.
Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)
Vikings (1-4) - A win is a win. Badgers (5-2) - Indiana? INDIANA?!?! *sigh* Twins (OUT) - Oh well, if we're still around next year... Buffy 7.3 earns a 8.04 Out of 10 for being the funny, but throwing out enough plot contrivances to last us the whole damn season. Anya however = Hillarious.
Damn, I wasn't really a huge fan of Dennis/Andrew, but there's a LOT more teams I'd rather see go before them. Teri/Ian, Heave, Zach/Flo, and AA should all leave the race. Right now.
Sorry to see Dennis/Andrew leave, would much rather it had been TerIan. This is the first time even a Fast Forward hasn't saved someone.
A fun episode, all things aside. The "Scottish Games" was a fun little event, too bad it had to be ruined by TerIan's bickering.

Which means, of course that having the FF "saved" them.
Of course with all the bunching they do on every leg, the FF hasn't had much impact this or last season as a method of getting way out in front. It's more of a stay of execution for the teams at the tail.

You're Lulu. You seem a little insensitive to those who don't know you very well, due to your cynical nature. Your mind is always thinking of things, big and small. You have a tough time of letting go of the past.
