When I quote someone, there is a default font style and color that takes over my post and overrides my standard red color. I've tried to avoid this by returning down a few spaces before typing, but this does not work consistently. How do I avoid this happening?

I think it depends on which HTML tags go where...you'll probably have to check your header and footer and make sure everything's balanced out okay (and also, sometimes it'll NEVER work because the person you're quoting can't balance THEIR tags properly - unless you REALLY want to pick apart what they've written...

Hmm...
I tested on pieman and DEAN in the test folder and it worked after I included a closing font tag at the top of my header ('twas missing), but it didn't work here until I placed a closing font tag before the end of your quote. Interesting.
