Joel Quenneville will return to the franchise he began his NHL coaching career with in 1994-95 as the fourth head coach in Colorado Avalanche and 12th in franchise history. Tony Granato, who has been the head coach for the last season and a half, will work along with Jacques Cloutier as assistant coaches to Joel Quenneville.
Any Avalanche fans wanna chime in on this? Seeing as he was so underwhelming here in St Louis, I found it hard to imagine he would get a head coaching job with a pretty decent team, I always figured he would latch on someplace like New York, or someplace else where the talent wasnt performing or they had a lot of young players.
I'm surprised Granato stayed on as an assistent... Quenneville is a big media darling in these parts, but I haven't seen too much of him to warrent such praise.

Click Here (nhl.com) I like the removal of the red line and the return of the tag-up offsides. This should free up some neutral-zone play and eliminate a ton of the whistles. Going to the shootout will be a big plus for the fans.
