1. The Usos vs. Gabriel/Slater just about did for the Usos what before has: make them look like true contenders. They used a nifty double team of heaving a guy into a Samoan Drop before getting the pin with a splash. The comment was made that a corner buttsplash was in honor of their "father Rikishi." That doesn't sound possible.

2. The six-man tag match of Sin Cara/Bryan/Jackson vs. Rhodes/Dibiase/Barrett ended abruptly when Bryan pinned Dibiase after a running corner dropkick. The ref missed Teddy raising his shoulder and counted to three. The announcers made much of this, and I'm impressed to see a possible angle spark that can blossom after an impending PPV.

3. Big Show went nutso and KOed Mark Henry with some ground-and-pound. Henry was stretchered out. Del Rio suggested that Ricardo was gone for good after an attack on RAW.

4. Jinder Mahal beat Kozloff with an Uncle Slam.

5. Orton punted Sheamus in the brains after the latter was pinned by Christian in a three-way tease for the PPV.

Given Orton's injury problems, I'm surprised Sheamus didn't win. Christian and Sheamus could carry the weight in a three-way match and allow Orton to not get too involved.

REF WATCH: This result, combined with the Christian "didn't break on 5" disqualification by Cone on Monday, leads me to believe somebody's been giving directives to the officials on how to call matches again.

Unlike Monday, where you blame the wrestler for letting Cone get to 5*, this one was clearly on Zapata for only looking at one shoulder. If he's truly the only guy who can talk Spanish to Sin Cara, I don't know how they punish him (other than public embarrassment via replays).

Usually, those marching orders last about as long as it takes for somebody to "screw up" (remember poor Wes Adams ending an ECW TV main event early? He was fired by Friday) and they go back to ignoring stuff happening right in front of them and looking like idiots.

*I think he did break, but ...sure, he could have broken closer to 4 to make it more obvious. Notice they went ahead and continued doing spots anyway. Hey, here's the clip!

I think the ref just botched the spot, but I wouldn't mind seeing an ending like this for the Cena-Truth match where Truth eats a pin on a screwjob by the referee (err I meant official, they aren't called referees anymore). Now, if this official is the one assigned to the Cena-Truth match, you might have a good angle.

Big Show looks good being a nutcase but I don't see how this can be helping Del Rio, who is really being hurt by the script writers. Rumors had Del Rio vs Cena for Summerslam, but I just can't see it happening.

And poor Sin Cara. All that hype.

I've read about botched SD endings and promos being retaped, which makes me think that some hay will be made with this. If you watch the ref after the bell, he has to tell the face team to get in the ring for the raising of the hands.

He was mainly on camera at the beginning of the show, but someone behind the announce table area had a giant cardboard Beaker head (with a beard, so it was actually supposed to be a Sheamus-Beaker) that was pretty amusing.

Booker also repeatedly referred to Vladimir as "Koz," which led to a lot of jokes to my g/f about Theo and Rudy and the Jell-O Pudding...

Yup, both instances were so detrimental and pointless that you figure they have to have been scared into calling things closely for the time being based on the peccadillo of the week. With Rey/Christian he killed what was going to be a long match just after they came back from commercial, with the run-in contingent on whatever they were going to do out of the superplex as their finish. Then the tag match got ruined like one move into the hot tag.

I'm surprised It's False hasn't screamed in horror yet that Kaityn and AJ and Natalya vs. Tamina, Rosa Mendes, and Alicia Fox is the new LayCool vs. Kelly Kelly. As Spock once said, "Nature abhors a vaccuum."

Jeers to the Chick Busters' coming to the ring to Natalya's music and not AJ's, but how about AJ and Kaitlyn's new ring entrance? Charging into the ring like London and Kendrick, Kaitlyn running the ropes and doing forward rolls. They hit the ring like a house of fire... and then Kaitlyn starts the match, AJ's meat gets tenderized by another Shades of the High Chief, and they turn into a house of shit.

Chick Busters are 1-3 against the Smackdown Diva Heels of Color and Ethnicity.

And of course, Cole sarcastically said exactly what I was thinking: "Natalya's doing a really great job mentoring Kaitlyn and AJ."

Apparently, the ref "mistakes" continued at the PPV, giving Christian an angle to potentially demand a rematch.

No worries about the vacuum. I think Kofi and Dolph are penciled in to fill the void left by Kelly and LayCool (and by Cena and Orton before them). Besides that, I can't get enough of AJ, probably the only Diva I've genuinely been interested in (both looks and personality-wise) since Mickie James.

That struck an odd chord with me. Was that a mistake on the announce team's part (big shock, I know) or are they trying to avoid saying the name "Umaga" on the air?

Sheamus was on a hot streak and deserved better than to get unceremoniously written out by the Randy Orton Punt of Plot Convenience. See you in a month, Sheamus!

Aren't they the sons of Rikishi? Didn't he do the butt splash in the corner too? Where does Umaga fit into this discussion? Am I missing something, or what's the problem here?

Rikishi did do a reverse avalanche thing, I think. But Umaga did that violent(-looking) charge where he rammed someone sitting in the corner and making their heads snap back, and that's what the Usos are replicating.

Actually, it is the other way around. The cost of getting a live satellite feed is far more expensive than the post-production editing that is done with SmackDown.
