Take a look at these excerpts from their instant feedback. I'll start off mild at first.

"Throwing Booker into the NWO mix just when he was on the verge of a face turn does nothing for anyone involved." (Who said he WAS going to turn face? People have been cheering him this whole time, but that doesn't mean the bookers were going to pay attention. They obviously didn't.)

"The WWE needs a shot in the arm, the shows have been very mediocre since the split. Do whatever it takes, sign him up, and get Bill Goldberg in here. He's about the only thing that may help at this point." (They don't need him, and they probably don't want him, either. He will do absolutely nothing for them.)

"On top of that, the WWF/E essentially killed off Brock Lesner's mystique tonight and reduced him to being just another guy on the roster with potential who is at the mercy of the inept booking committee." (Okay, who wants to explain THIS one? He lost a match by DQ, to a well-respected tag team, in a handicap match, because his MANAGER got involved without any prompting. And as you saw, he kicked out of the finisher anyway. Or was it the lumberjack match? If I recall, he was one of the few, if not only lumberjacks to not get punked out by Austin, and he got in plenty of offense. If anything, they're setting him up for a face turn, not a fall.)

And here's a double-shot from one comment:

"If the Intercontinental title belt is supposed to be the next best wrestler to the World Champion, then why is Planet Stasiak getting the shot? For that matter, how does Ric Flair (who lost his last singles match) get a shot at the gold? The titles are meaningless. Anyone can get a shot at them and anyone can win them." (Hey dumbass: Stasiak got the shot because he pissed Eddie off, and Eddie made the match. Flair got a title shot because HE OWNS THE FREAKIN' SHOW. He can do whatever he wants.)

"I realize that Justin Credible, Crash Holly, and Goldust are not main event material, but they can at least put on decent matches so that we wouldn't have been tortured by Hogan's ride on the wet and wild." (Yeah, well, no one buys into them as anything serious. Except for Goldust, who's just money with Booker. The casual fan still wants to see Hogan more than anyone else you mentioned. How long that'll last, we'll see. Probably not even as far as Summerslam, but still, that's what's going on.)

I wonder if they just pick out the biggest idiots they can find. They give a bad name to Internet wrestling fans. -_-

On top of that, it wasn't even a title match!

On the other hand, I agree completely with the person that questioned the wisdom of Booker joining the NWO. I hope this leads to the NWO punking him out and turning him face.

Methinks thou doth protest too much.

"Throwing Booker into the NWO mix just when he was on the verge of a face turn does nothing for anyone involved." (Who said he WAS going to turn face? People have been cheering him this whole time, but that doesn't mean the bookers were going to pay attention. They obviously didn't.)"

You don't think that the booking over the last month has been a prepping of Booker T for a babyface turn? They have been trying to build up sympathy for Booker through his antics with Goldust over the last month. And last night they admitted that Booker was not looking to join the nWo. If they are not setting Booker up for a face turn, then they have a really weird way of building heels.

"On top of that, the WWF/E essentially killed off Brock Lesner's mystique tonight and reduced him to being just another guy on the roster with potential who is at the mercy of the inept booking committee." I fully agree with this view by the Torch because Brock was supposed to be a Goldberg-like monster. Last night Brock was on the defense for most of the match against two guys that he has KILLED individually. Brock should not have lost a match until he moved up the ladder. In fact, I think that his attack on Austin was a concession made because he was made to look inept earlier in the night. And putting Paul Heyman into the match was a huge step back. I thought that Brock did not need anybody, yet he had no problem having a non-wrestling agent put himself into a pay per view match. Brock must be getting punished for the plane ride.

"If the Intercontinental title belt is supposed to be the next best wrestler to the World Champion, then why is Planet Stasiak getting the shot? The issue here doesn't seem to be based on how the Eddie/Stasiak match came about. Rather, the question is why would the bookers even think that an Eddie/Stasiak NON-TITLE match would draw anything other than apathy. Furthermore, "Planet Stasiak" is not a character who should be written to be anywhere near important enough to get an Intercontinental title shot. Just when the WWE was starting to put importance in their titles, they give out title shots to the least over guy on the Raw brand.

I think that the point of having Paul put himself in the match isn't that Brock needs him, it's a further handicap. Paul is saying, "not only can Brock beat the two of you at once, he can even do it with a fat, out-of-shape, non-wrestler partner, such as myself". (Edit: I don't even expect him to wear wrestling gear--that would be disgusting. I picture him showing up in street clothes and sitting at the commentary table, saying that he's going to wait until Brock has killed both Hardy's dead, then he'll tag in to get the pin.) It also sets up potential for Brock turning on Paul to turn face on account of Paul making decisions that cause him losses. And the announcers can still talk him up as an unstoppable monster even with record-book losses, they jsut have to point out that he has ever been defeated by pinfall or submission.

First, I wouldn't be surprised if Brock is getting somewhat punished..it would suck for his persona and for the WWE's plans with him, but it's only fair isn't it?

Second, it wasn't a title match, and it wasn't like Stasiak had a chance. It was just to have Eddie and RVD get into it without having a match, and have Stasiak look all goofy with his Planet Stasiak gimmick..

Hmm. I always thought it was a title match. Maybe I just misheard Eddie.
And as for a lot of those comments, 411 sez (quoting 1wrestling, IIRC) that the writers know they're screwed, but don't know what to do. Maybe... bow down to our wishes? (Hey, if it gets someone in there who can make sense of things, I'm all for it.)

There are only 10 episodes left of Prime. Will the producers realize between now and then Johnny B Badd no longer works in WCW? Not this week!   Once again, we are thankfully joined by MIKE TENAY, and less thankfully by CHRIS CRUISE.
