No real surprise here. Second straight MVP for Pujols and third overall. The model of consistency since he joined the league in 2001. What a decade.

In his nine major league seasons, he has finished lower than fourth in the MVP balloting just once. He has seven finishes of third or higher. He's amazing.

I like the trade. I don't like the fact that the Padres had to send Perez in the deal, but Giles is a stud. I would take a serious look at the Padres this month. The way they play now should be a good indicator for next season.
