Not with that weak launch lineup. Sometimes I wonder if I could run video game companies better than whomever is doing it.
They need to make waves within the first few months. The PSP wasn't going strong near the end of its run. Cell phone apps are killing portable gaming.
What they really should have done is have a couple of high profile series make some spinoffs for this thing.. not just a copy of what is already out there- but a full spinoff.. like the PSP had their GTA stories games in the beginning...

I'm pretty sure the PSP isn't dead - Sony runs it's consoles for years after the next generation's systems appear. I think the PS2 had new games coming out last year. I'd be one to guess that the PSP still has about five years left in it.
Oh, and cellphone gaming destroying handheld gaming? Perhaps, but I haven't seen a game yet for my Android handheld that holds a candle to anything that I can get for my PSP or even my DS.
I'll be getting a Vita, but next month: I'll probably get Hot Shots Golf and Uncharted with it, too.
Does anyone know if I can play the PSone or Mini games I have on my PS3 on the Vita? I keep thinking Final Fantasy VIII on the road would be pretty sweet.

I'm sure I can find someone who's writing Commodore64 games in 2012, doesn't mean it's alive as a system. There are new games, but their few in number and it seems like the publishers abandoned the system a year before the Vita came out (or whenever it was when the PSP Go flopped.)

Apples and oranges. What I'm talking about is that Sony was still supporting the PS2 up until 2011. Games were still being released last year. Your analogy concerning the C64 is incorrect: Commodore is history, and even if someone came up with a game for it, while it would be incredibly cool to see, wouldn't indicate that the medium is still supported by the manufacturer.

Just beat the single player portion yesterday. Really good, but not really a sequel. Sorta like GTA Vice City was to GTA 3. Some new gadets and moves, but pretty much the same basic game with new missions.
