As according to this article on IGN (psp.ign.com) the PSP is due for a makeover: including a new colour scheme (ice white and piano black), the new-ish PSP will have A/V ports to connect the PSP to a monitor.
Still...no built in flash memory or anything else.
I think it's a step in the right direction. I kind of wish the people at Sony would have worked on their batteries and made some newer, harder working, longer lasting batteries.
I've seen NINE movies so far this year: Because I Said So - (2*); Borat - (5*); Children Of Men - (4*); Fantastic Four 2 - (4.5*); Knocked Up - (4*); The Last Mimsy - (4*); Shrek The Third - (3*); Spiderman 3 - (3.5*); Transformers - (2*)
(Personal disclaimer: I'm really not a Kotaku drone, it's just that their site is the easiest to find information, since they're not bogged down by tons of info and navigation like 1up and IGN. But anyway..)
I bought a PSP 3 months ago to play MGS:PO, and have been pretty satisfied with the system. It is a life saver on long bus rides and plane trips. The new slim versions do look nice though, and I'm assuming they're going with the fingerprint resistant casing of the ceramic white PSP as opposed to the original black one, which should be nice. It appears that they're keeping it at the same price-point as the current hardware which is also a good idea. If I didn't already have one, this would pretty much solidify a purchase from me.
Although, I agree with Oliver that a longer battery life would definitely be nice (although that may still be included before it ships). Upgrading the wi-fi connectivity to at least G would be GREATLY appreciated. On top of that, if they could get a decent video download service going, I think a lot more people would jump on board. (Right now it is a real time consuming bitch to have to rip a dvd, then convert it to a video format that the PSP can read.) They've apparently doubled the internal memory to 64mb, which'll be great for the games, especially after looking at the previews for the God of War PSP game they have coming out.
(edited by Jericholic53 on 15.7.07 1424) It says so right here in the wcw handbook!
Thanks for the links, Jerichoholic...it's appreciated. I'm kind of bummed they didn't have any pictures of the A/V ports.
I'm interested in seeing what the PSP games will look like on a TV, and what the resolution will be like.
An interesting question, too: what will be the default firmware it's shipped with?

This particular forum has a 31 day expiration on threads. I know I've covered this somewhere (it's also on the forum page itself).
Closed to demonstrate that... although it could probably be re-opened. (And re-opened because this wasn't that far down the page.)
I'm just amazed (most of) those acmlm codes actually work and that we didn't break their layout - and that their layout didn't break US.
EDIT: Hey wait - NONE of those acmlm codes worked - those must be stats from some other board! (Duh. The fact that posts wasn't equal to "1" should have tipped me off.)

Some of the codes work, I think... For some reason, the &variable& tags were replaced with actual numbers when I copied it from another forum.
Not only that, but I stupidly couldn't find the FAQ link, and it didn't even mention bump times...
Yeah, we're so far removed from the "acmlmboard" code tree (despite what you may read on wikispaces) that mentioning things like those variables in the FAQ would be meaningless to all but about half a dozen people here. As well, we don't mention bumping because the forums themselves are set up to disallow it (although that doesn't stop some of our resident morons from replying six days late on a thread that'd close in seven) so as long as your reply has merit and our expire time is set up such that we're allowing it, you'll always be in the clear.
Well, that's a relief... I thought for sure I'd end up banned soon until I read that post, CRZ.
Ironically, I found this board through a wiki, which sorta caused the misconception... Guess I'll have to find something else to put in those end tables, or just removing them altogether.
