09/10: NHL 2K8 - haven't seen reviews of this one, so you'll have to wait to decide which one to get (or just pick 2K to fight the power of EA)
09/11: NHL 08 - reviews note the same framerate problems seen on other EA on PS3 games. Gameplay is said to be quite good. As someone's who been frustrated by the lack of minor league players in MLB games, I find it neat that every AHL roster is included in this one. EA's also somehow figured out online leagues for this game when you still can't do them for Madden.
09/11: DiRT - dirt racing. You're racing on it, you're not racing dirt itself, that'd be different. This one seems to belong in the "looks great, game play could be fleshed out" pile
09/12: Heavenly Sword - reviews have a tough time explaining why kind of Action game this is, but seem to agree that it's very pretty. It's said to be good, but not especially long.
09/13: High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition (PS3 store) - don't be the guy who's playing poker on your video game machine. I'm incredibly amused by it being in 1080p.
It's usually talking about the controls and style of gameplay. No Mercy is a more "realistic" game, with soft and strong grapples, and that kind of thing, while SmackDown's more "arcade-like" with its controls.
