- games I'm interested in: new Ratchet & Clank Future (November), Uncharted 2 (footage shown) - games plenty of people not me will clearly be buying: Dead Rising 2, a Raiden/Metal Gear game (teased), Batman: Arkham Asylum, God of War III, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - games I'm still not sure about: Fat Princess, inFamous - Sony's really investing in trying to make Home something people will have to care about; 3 new areas per month is the plan. Probably should've done that before inviting everyone in.
There's a PS3 price drop rumor, but that rumor seems to happen on all days which end in 'y'. PS2 (which I'm drawing the line at release threads) is apparently going down to $100.
"As we have stated previously, we do not have plans for a PS3 price drop, and any rumors to that effect are false and are the result of speculation," the statement from SCEA public relations manager Al De Leon reads. "SCEA remains focused on the long-term momentum of PS3. With the industry's best software lineup this year, combined with our most aggressive marketing campaign to date, we remain confident in our approach and the value we're delivering with PS3."
I'm still optimistic that they'll change their minds by the end of the year. I'd love to be able to pick up a PS3, God of War III, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid 4, and DC Universe Online in one Best Buy trip.
Hmm...that's one expensive store run...
"It's worth remembering that sometimes popular things are popular for a reason. Because they're GOOD or because Will Smith is in it."
The title summarizes it pretty nicely, but here is a news post on IGN.com about the dissolution of THQ. As someone who's getting laid off myself in mid-April from a job I've had since November of 2000, I sympathize with all those who've lost their jobs....
